。作为参照,备受瞩目的特斯拉4680电池,作为目前高能量密度、低成本电池的代表,其电芯能量密度约为300Wh/kg。而数据显示,2021年三元锂电池普遍能量密度徘徊在150Wh/kg左右。顾名思义,能量密度越高,根据所使用的单位,储存同样电量的电池重量或体积就越小。在一辆车留给电池的空间或重量确定的前提下,能量密度越高,储存电量就越多,续航里程也就越长。就当前形势而言,能量密度几乎是目前电池行业,甚至是电动汽车行业向前大跨步最明显的突破口。但要实现这个突破并不容易。而Amprius,这家几乎名不见经传的创业公司凭什么能实现质的跨越?其秘诀就在于Amprius使用的硅纳米线负极材料。为什么使用硅纳米线负极材料能实现能量密度的大幅提升?硅纳米线技术原理要解答这个问题,我们先来看一下锂离子动力电池的结构。锂离子动力电池一般由负极集流体,负极,隔膜,正极,正极集流体,极耳,电解液,绝缘片,外壳等构成。锂电池的运作原理是:充电时,正极上的锂原子脱去电子,被氧化成锂离子,然后在电解液中运动,跑到负极,与流经外部电源的电子互相结合,还原成锂原子,嵌入到负极材料的微孔中。而放电则是一个相反的过程。镶嵌在负极材料中的锂原子脱去电子,被氧化成锂离子,回到电解液中,运动到正极,与流经的电子结合,再度还原成锂原子。因而,提高正负极材料中嵌入的锂原子量也就能提高整个电芯的储电量。正极材料常见的有镍钴锰酸锂和磷酸铁锂,也就是常说的三元锂电池和磷酸铁锂电池。而当前的负极材料则以石墨为主,也有部分使用钛酸锂和硅基材料。目前以石墨为主的碳负极材料克容量达到360mAh/g,已经非常接近理论克容量(372mAh/g),提升空间不大。而硅基负极材料的克容量达3500mAh/g,其储锂能力几乎达到碳材料的10倍。理论上使用硅基负极材料的锂电池能量密度可达到碳材料锂电池的十倍。但问题在于,放入电池中的硅会在充电过程中吸收带正电的锂原子而膨胀,然后在使用过程中随着锂从硅中抽出而收缩。这种膨胀/收缩循环通常会导致硅(通常以颗粒或薄膜的形式)粉碎,从而降低电池性能。为解决这个问题,Amprius使用了硅纳米线技术。什么是硅纳米线技术?Amprius的硅纳米线技术是在电池极片上直接生长硅纳米线,其在吸收锂原子后膨胀至正常体积的四倍,但不同于一般的硅结构,这种结构的硅材料可以通过轴向膨胀很好的释放应力,不会造成纳米线的龟裂或破损,从而阻止了电极的粉末化。此外,使用硅纳米线的负极厚度仅为碳材料负极厚度的一半。由于硅是能量密度最好的材料,因而使用100%硅材料意味着可以实现最高能量密度的锂离子电池。而且,Amprius的硅纳米线电池具有出色的循环寿命,这在包括美国国家实验室和主要航空航天公司在内的多个组织的实际使用中已得到证明。Amprius此次生产的第一批硅纳米线锂电池将供应给一家高空伪卫星公司。缘起与应用Amprius的硅纳米线技术源自斯坦福。2007年,时为斯坦福材料科学与工程系助理教授的崔屹在Nature Nanotechnology上发布了一篇题为《使用硅纳米线的高性能锂电池负极(High-performance lithium battery anodes using silicon nanowires)》的论文,详细阐释了硅纳米线技术在锂电池中的应用。2008年,崔屹与资深风投合伙人Mark Platshon共同成立Amprius(安普瑞斯)。其董事会成员包括诺贝尔奖得主、前美国能源部长朱棣文。如今,年仅四十多岁的崔屹不仅是斯坦福终身教授,还是四家创业公司的创始人。Amprius总部位于硅谷,并在无锡与政府旗下的投资公司无锡工业发展集团合资建立大型电池工厂安普瑞斯(无锡)有限公司。Amprius的投资人包括硅谷风投公司Trident Capital和Kleiner Perkins、中国私募股权公司软银赛富、斯坦福大学、空客(Airbus)等。此外,谷歌前CEOEric Schmidt也是公司投资人之一。公司现任CEO孙康博士曾担任霍尼韦尔副总裁,并协助组建了晶澳太阳能有限公司,后者目前是全球最大的太阳能电板制造商。2021年12月,Amprius宣布在电池充电效率方面取得突破,只需 6 分钟即可实现 0% 至 80% 这种价格是不可持续的。”CEO孙康表示。如果要大规模应用在乘用车上,昂贵的成本显然是不可接受的。在2020年8月的特斯拉电池日之前,马斯克在推特上表示特斯拉会在3-4年内批量生产寿命更长、而且能量密度提高50%也就是达到400wh/kg的电池,当时Model 3使用的松下 2170 电池电芯能量密度为260wh/kg。随后,特斯拉更是于9 月 19 日在电池日活动注册页面上用了硅纳米线结构图作为背景图片。加之Amprius的公司地址就在特斯拉对面,彼时关于特斯拉将要收购Amprius的猜测一时四起。但在电池日当天,这一技术并未亮相。马斯克更是在推特上直言,特斯拉与Amprius之间什么都没发生。对于马斯克来说,成本始终是其考虑的首要因素之一。据华宝证券数据,目前420-450mAh/g 容量的硅基负极材料(由硅基材料与石墨混合而成)市价在11-15万/吨之间,中间值约为12 万/吨,而高端石墨的价格仅有7-8
