The real estate sector notched its biggest daily percentage gain in two weeks as the best performing of the 11 major sectors.

Fed funds futures prices implied a better-than-even chance that the Fed will follow an expected half-point rate hike this week, with smaller 25-basis point hikes at its first two meetings of 2023, and stopping shy of 5% by March.

Morgan Stanley's chief U.S. economist Ellen Zentner now sees even smaller Fed rate hikes, of 25 basis points at the central bank's February meeting, and no further increases in March, leaving the peak fed funds rate at 4.625%.

Still, equities pared gains ahead of the Fed's policy statement on Wednesday, in which the central bank is widely expected to announce a 50 basis point rate hike.

"There was some excitement early on that the CPI number was once again below expectations - it shows some sequential cooling - but once we saw that initial pop, stock investors kind of reassessed," said Jason Ware, chief investment officer at Albion Financial Group in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"That probably took some of the steam out of the markets once investors realized tomorrow very well may be (Fed Chair) Jerome Powell throwing cold water on the rally today."

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 103.6 points, or 0.3%, to 34,108.64, the S&P 500 gained 29.09 points, or 0.73%, to 4,019.65 and the Nasdaq Composite added 113.08 points, or 1.01%, to 11,256.81.

Energy, up 1.77%, was among the best performing S&P sectors on the day as the softer-than-anticipated inflation data sent the dollar lower and boosted crude oil prices.

The consumer inflation numbers follow November's producer prices report last week, which was slightly higher than expected but pointed to a moderation in the trend.

Still, some questioned whether the trend in prices could continue.

"Today's CPI print is incrementally good, but it needs to be sustained," said Venu Krishna, head of U.S. equity strategy at Barclays in New York.

"There is a big question mark whether we can really come to the 2% inflation (Fed target). But there is one thing we do know. It will end, and we will thank ourselves for buying first-rate companies at a discount when it does. The Nasdaq Composite is down more than 30% year to date, marking its most significant drawdown from its high since the Great Recession, as shown below.^IXIC data by YChartsWhile it could still fall further, this is a tremendous opportunity for investors to dollar-cost average into positions. After all, those who didn't hit the exact bottom of previous drawdowns are sitting on massive profits. Here is the same chart from above in actual dollars.^IXIC data by YChartsAs this shows, timing a bottom isn't necessary; disciplined investing in the world's preeminent companies consistently is. Adobe and Walt Disney are two beaten-down examples.Adobe looks unreasonably discountedLast year, more than 400 billion PDFs were opened, 90% of creative professionals rely on Adobe Photoshop, and 165 million folks have joined the creative economy since 2020. Fresh content is vital for businesses, advertisers, creative professionals, and others, and Adobe products make it happen.Meanwhile, the company reported record fiscal third-quarter 2022 revenue ($4.43 billion on 13% growth), generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) operating income of $1.5 billion, and cash from operations of $1.7 billion (up 20% year over year). This doesn't seem like a troubled business. Yet, the stock is down 41% year to date.Much of the decline stems from Wall Street's short-sighted, pessimistic reaction to Adobe acquiring cloud-based design software company Figma. The price for Figma was steep at 50 times expected 2022 sales, but there is much more than meets the eye. This deal is forward-looking because it allows Adobe to:Stay on the cutting edge. Tech workers love Figma, and this deal nets Adobe perhaps the best collaborative real-time editing software on the market.Leverage Figma's 100% annual recurring revenue growth, 90% gross margins, and estimated $16.5 billion 2025 annual addressable market.Keep Figma out of the hands of competitors. The deal that now looks expensive may be considered prescient in a few short years. As shown below, Adobe stock trades well off its average price-to-earnings and price-to-free-cash-flow ratios.ADBE PE Ratio data by YChartsIt's time for investors to consider Adobe for the long term.Former CEO returns to turn around DisneyDisney shocked the market just before Thanksgiving with the return of former CEO Bob Iger. Investors hope this can spur results as the stock trades near its March 2020 pandemic crash lows and down 40% year to date.Iger will earn just $1 million in salary, but annual stock awards are targeted at $25 million annually. This stock-based compensation keeps his goals aligned with those of long-suffering shareholders.Disney structures itself in two segments. Media and entertainment distribution (media) sales stem from licensing, cable television channels (ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel, etc.), and streaming services like Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. Meanwhile, the parks, experiences, and products (experiences) division encompasses theme parks, cruises, and resorts. The experiences segment's sales and profits have fully recovered from the pandemic, reaching new highs in fiscal 2022, as shown in the chart below.Data source: Disney. Chart by author. The streaming wars are on and taking a toll on Disney's media profits. Sales rose 8% to $55 billion, but operating income fell 42% to just $4.2 billion in fiscal 2022. Disney is going toe to toe with Netflix, adding 57 million subscribers in fiscal 2022 to reach 235 million subscribers across its platforms. With Iger back in the fold, Disney+ is looking to increase profits with its new ad-supported subscription offering. According to Statista, 45% of subscribers plan to use the lower-cost ad-supported plan, which could be a significant boon to Disney's profits. Iger has also pledged to empower the company's creators and restructure costs. The turnaround won't happen overnight -- there is much work to do. Investors can take solace that Disney is determined to change, and the stock can be bought near its pandemic-crash lows. One thing is sure: The Disney brand is irreplaceable.Bear markets are disheartening. No one likes to see hard-earned money slipping away. But there are terrific values available. Like many e-commerce companies, it faces global macroeconomic challenges like inflation and possible recession. But China-specific headwinds are another big problem, too.Let's take a look at both of these factors and what they could mean for the company's outlook in the year ahead. What went wrong for Alibaba?Established in 1999, Alibaba is the undisputed leader in Chinese e-commerce, with a market share of 47%. But far from just an e-commerce company, it operates a portfolio business that includes cloud computing, traditional retail, and logistics. Alibaba's size gives it a solid economic moat against rivals through economies of scale and the \"network effect,\" which is the value a platform gains as more people use it.Image source: Getty Images. The company's share price has historically reflected its business success -- rising 366% between its initial public offering at $68 per share in 2014 and its all-time high of $317 six years later. But after a strong performance in the early stages of the pandemic, a revenue slowdown and regulatory uncertainty have become big red flags for investors.Revenue growth is slowing dramaticallyAlibaba's third-quarter earnings highlight the severity of its challenges. Revenue increased by just 3% year over year to $29.1 billion, which is a sharp deceleration from the 29% growth rate reported in the prior-year period. According to management, this weakness is partially due to China's strict zero-COVID policy, which has been weighing on consumption. But this narrative might not be telling the whole story.Strict COVID lockdowns have been going on in China for the past three years, and they didn't stop the company from posting double-digit growth rates during most of those periods. In fact, the lockdowns are widely believed to have boosted stay-at-home shopping in 2020 and 2021.Instead of zero-COVID, Alibaba's more fundamental problem may be business stagnation and maturity. And while China is finally moving to ease some of the strictest aspects of its zero-COVID policy, the changes probably won't shoot Alibaba back to its previous growth rates. The BBC reports that the company may be dealing with growing competition and a regulatory crackdown from the Chinese government. In 2021, Alibaba was fined $2.8 billion for antitrust violations by preventing merchants from selling on other platforms. The increased scrutiny could be making management more cautious about the tactics they use to expand.Additional long-term challenges include U.S. trade restrictions on exporting cutting-edge semiconductor chips to China. Semiconductors help power data centers, artificial intelligence, and other technologies. And the export ban could hurt Alibaba's efforts to stay competitive in cloud computing. Revenue in the company's cloud services segment grew by 4% to 20,757 yuan ($2.98 billion), roughly 10% of total revenue.A low valuation but riskyWith a price-to-earnings multiple of 12, Alibaba trades at a significant discount to the S&P 500's average of 20. But that doesn't necessarily make its shares a good deal. Regulatory uncertainty in China is a big challenge for long-term investors. And the company's slowing revenue growth could eventually lead to stagnant profits if the situation doesn't improve. The stock looks like a sell or a hold for now.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"09988":0.6,"BABA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2126,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9968881663,"gmtCreate":1669175370453,"gmtModify":1676538162968,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"huat huat","listText":"huat huat","text":"huat huat","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9968881663","repostId":"9963622384","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":9963622384,"gmtCreate":1668668460748,"gmtModify":1676538094204,"author":{"id":"3527667667103859","authorId":"3527667667103859","name":"TigerEvents","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/c266ef25181ace18bec1262357bbe1a8","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3527667667103859","idStr":"3527667667103859"},"themes":[],"title":"[Thanksgiving] Say thank you to your friends","htmlText":"Hi Tigers,Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Two consecutive quarters of subscriber losses, coupled with year-over-year sales growth in the single digits, have caused shares to tank this year. The streaming wars have never been hotter, with a seemingly never-ending list of competing services out there vying for consumers' finite attention.Netflix is fully aware of its challenges, but the business has some worthwhile moves up its sleeve. Here are two key strategies thestreaminggiant's executive team will deploy in order to boost revenue growth.Introduce a cheaper, ad-based subscription tierDuring the first six months of 2022, Netflix lost 1.2 million customers. Furthermore, sales only increased by 9.8% and 8.6% in Q1 and Q2, respectively, compared to the prior-year periods, a major slowdown from the double-digit gains investors are used to seeing. So, it's not surprising that the biggest takeaway from Netflix's two financial releases this year is that the company needs to find a way to reignite growth.Management has long turned down the idea of introducing an ad-supporter option on its platform because they believed that it would diminish the viewing experience. However, other streaming services, like HBO Max, Hulu, and Peacock, have already taken this route. And now, it certainly seems like a no-brainer decision for Netflix, which is experiencing a post-pandemic lull. With 221 million subscribers as of June 30, Netflix undoubtedly has a massive user base, the most of any single streaming service out there, that it can now monetize via advertisements. The company recently announced that it wouldpartner with tech behemothMicrosoft on the endeavor. Netflix's ultimate goal is to make ads on its streaming service that are better and more relevant for consumers than ads on traditional linear TV, while at the same time being more effective at targeting viewers for marketers. This move can help drive incremental, price-sensitive subscribers to the service, and at the same time, it can generate high-margin revenue from selling ads. The potential result is a larger business that produces greater profits, which shareholders would welcome with open arms.Netflix plans to introduce the ad-based tier sometime in early 2023.Crack down on password-sharingAnother important, and obvious, strategy that Netflix's leadership team can do to drive higher growth is by cracking down on the roughly 100 million worldwide households that are currently sharing other accounts' passwords. Similar to the previously discussed move, management hasn't historically been too keen on fixing this problem. But in desperate times like today, when signing up new members is getting increasingly harder, finding ways to add customers by any means necessary is the focus.Starting in March of this year, Netflix started a program in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru to try and convert password sharers to paying accounts. Many customers citedhow confusing the entire process was, while also pointing out clever workarounds to continue not paying for the service. In July, Netflix started testing a different approach in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.I don't know if or how long it will take Netflix to monetize the 100 million global households that share passwords, but again, this looks like the correct move right now. In the U.S. and Canada, for example, which is the company's most lucrative region by far with an average monthly revenue per member in Q2 of $15.95, there are an estimated 30 million of these password-sharing households. The untapped revenue opportunity is sizable.Offering up a lower-cost, ad-supported subscription tier also seems like the perfect move to convert password sharers to paying customers. Instead of these free-loaders completely falling out of the Netflix ecosystem if they are unable or unwilling to pay a higher price, they could turn to the cheaper option in order to continue watching their favorite shows, movies, and documentaries. Thecostfor Netflix to serve an additional customer is almost nonexistent, so keeping that revenue stream going should be a priority. While these initiatives might add complexity to the business model, they appear to be natural extensions of the company's evolution. From shipping DVDs by mail to expanding overseas to streaming original content to launching video games, Netflix has always figured out how to pivot when it needs to. Investors should keep an eye on how the company's latest strategies work out, because if they do fare well, Netflix's shares could be headed higher.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NFLX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3695,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9993126213,"gmtCreate":1660650778135,"gmtModify":1676536371955,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a But there is one thing we do know. Even though the market can't go up every year, it's still the best long-term wealth-building mechanism around.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"DIS":0.9,"ADBE":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2366,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9957959148,"gmtCreate":1676941787284,"gmtModify":1676941803375,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$WILMAR INTERNATIONAL LIMITED(F34.SI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>I am positive in this. That can be hard to keep in mind when the stock market is struggling, and this is the situation we're currently experiencing. But over the long term, market pullbacks always come with the opportunity to add shares of great companies on the dips. Having the grit to hold onto shares through thick and thin -- even when they're temporarily dropping -- will pay off eventually.Let's look at two beaten-down stocks worth investing in today: Veeva Systems and Adyen. If you have $5,000 handy that you aren't saving for a rainy day, putting that money in these stocks could be a great move.1. Veeva SystemsThe most successful companies offer products or services that make life easier for their customers, and Veeva Systems does precisely that. This software-as-a-service (SaaS) specialist targets the life sciences industry. It offers a suite of tools that help its clients comply with the extensive regulations in this sector and get their products to market faster and more efficiently.Multibillion-dollar companies like to save money, too, and that's why Veeva Systems' services are so essential to the everyday operations of many of the most prominent players in life sciences, including pharmaceutical and biotech giants such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, and more. One major strength of Veeva Systems' business is its high switching costs. The company's clients rely on its services daily, and switching to a competitor would be costly, time-consuming, and potentially disrupt the flow of operations. Veeva Systems routinely records high retention rates for its subscription services.Veeva Systems generally reports robust financial results. During its fiscal 2022 -- which ended on Jan. 31 -- total revenue of $1.9 billion increased by 26% year over year. The company's net income grew by 12.5% year over year to $427.4 million. For its fiscal 2023, which will end on Jan. 31, 2023, Veeva Systems expects revenue between $2.160 billion and $2.170 billion. At the midpoint, that would represent a year-over-year increase of about 17%.Beyond the next fiscal year, one major reason why Veeva Systems could deliver solid returns is that there remain plenty of opportunities in the massive (and growing) $6.6 trillion life sciences industry. While there are plenty of SaaS companies around, Veeva Systems is the leader in its narrow niche of the market that specifically targets life sciences. With a solid competitive edge based on switching costs and plenty of room to grow in the market, the company looks like a solid, long-term bet. True, the company's shares aren't cheap -- they currently trade at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 38 while the S&P 500's average forward P/E is about 19.Veeva Systems may be volatile in the near term due to its rich valuation metrics, but for those who are in it for the long haul, the company looks set to be an excellent stock to hold through these challenging times.2. AdyenAdyen is a fintech specialist based in the Netherlands. The company helps facilitate payment transactions by providing its clients with payment gateways, point-of-sale systems, payment processing, and risk-management services.Multinational corporations often have to deal with multiple companies that offer these individual services from one region to another. Adyen makes accepting payments in many different parts of the world easier by combining all of these services into a single platform. The result? Flexible and reliable payment solutions that increase efficiency.Adyen's services have become invaluable to many giant corporations, including Spotify, Uber, and many others. Last year, Adyen's revenue soared by 47% year over year to 1 billion euros ($1.08 billion), on the back of its processed volume increasing by 70% year over year to 516 billion euros ($556.22 billion). The company's net income came in at 469.7 million euros ($506.3 million), nearly 80% higher than the year-ago period. Here are two reasons why Adyen has a bright future. First, the company arguably benefits from a solid moat -- namely, high switching costs. The ability to process payments reliably is integral to the day-to-day operations of any company. Given that Adyen offers an entire suite of otherwise fragmented services in one platform, its customers can't easily decide to jump ship.Second, the industry in which Adyen operates is still on an upward path. According to some estimates, the digital-payments market will expand at a compound annual growth rate of 20.5% through 2030. Having built a solid position in this market, Adyen is well-positioned to be one of the beneficiaries of this continued switch toward online payments.Adyen isn't a cheap stock either, sporting a forward P/E of 72. In my view, the company will justify its valuation in the long run (think five years or more). However, it will remain vulnerable in the short run. Invest accordingly.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"VEEV":0.9,"ADYEY":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":595,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9921354839,"gmtCreate":1670982567222,"gmtModify":1676538470797,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"luxury brand stronghold","listText":"luxury brand stronghold","text":"luxury brand stronghold","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9921354839","repostId":"2291471471","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2517,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9900206816,"gmtCreate":1658711370235,"gmtModify":1676536195432,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$CapitaLandInves(9CI.SI)$huat huat ","listText":"$CapitaLandInves(9CI.SI)$huat huat ","text":"$CapitaLandInves(9CI.SI)$huat huat","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/5d3314578d960ef29b9b2b136f1e3260","width":"1242","height":"3057"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9900206816","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":703,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9968889611,"gmtCreate":1669174845833,"gmtModify":1676538162906,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"thank you Tiger for having this platform to allow us to have ease of buy & sell shares. Investors should keep an eye on how the company's latest strategies work out, because if they do fare well, Netflix's shares could be headed higher.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NFLX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3695,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9990301828,"gmtCreate":1660280202466,"gmtModify":1676533443674,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"thank you for the insights ","listText":"thank you for the insights ","text":"thank you for the insights","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9990301828","repostId":"1105994220","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1184,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9904206055,"gmtCreate":1660048106026,"gmtModify":1703477304638,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Unity Software Inc.(U)$let's fly","listText":"$Unity Software Inc.(U)$let's fly","text":"$Unity Software Inc.(U)$let's fly","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/9bfc57c034057be2d5f8d984f4312538","width":"1242","height":"3176"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9904206055","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":756,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9905000984,"gmtCreate":1659760734650,"gmtModify":1703766371717,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc.(ADN)$goodprospect","listText":"$Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc.(ADN)$goodprospect","text":"$Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc.(ADN)$goodprospect","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/08be5b1865057d7e370eed7a156f984d","width":"1242","height":"3266"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9905000984","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1115,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9921355427,"gmtCreate":1670982485769,"gmtModify":1676538470780,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"risky ","listText":"risky ","text":"risky","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9921355427","repostId":"2291716597","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2291716597","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1671000843,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2291716597?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-12-14 14:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Down 24%, Is Alibaba Stock a Buy?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2291716597","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"China might finally be easing up on its COVID-19 restrictions. The stock looks like a sell or a hold for now.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"09988":0.6,"BABA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2126,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9993126213,"gmtCreate":1660650778135,"gmtModify":1676536371955,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Unity Software Inc.(U)$waiting for the good time","listText":"$Unity Software Inc.(U)$waiting for the good time","text":"$Unity Software Inc.(U)$waiting for the good time","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/31b4351416307d7c58ba88d4af87a0f9","width":"1242","height":"3176"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9993126213","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2772,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9077167977,"gmtCreate":1658470890599,"gmtModify":1676536164743,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"what about global foundries?","listText":"what about global foundries?","text":"what about global foundries?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9077167977","repostId":"2253749498","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2253749498","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1658469162,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2253749498?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-07-22 13:52","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The CHIPS Act Could Boost These 3 Semiconductor Stocks","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2253749498","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Intel, TSMC, and Texas Instruments would all benefit if it passed.","content":"
\n
In June 2020, the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors for America (CHIPS) Act was introduced in the House of Representatives by U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas). The act called for the U.S. to boost its subsidies for domestic chipmakers to address the global chip shortage, reduce the country's dependence on Asian chip foundries, and stay ahead of China in the semiconductor race. The CHIPS Act would provide $52 billion in subsidies and tax breaks for domestic chipmakers. But more than two years later, it still hasn't passed Congress. The Senate recently cleared the way toward a final vote on the bill next week, but some Republicans are still reportedly reluctant to approve those high subsidies. Some chipmakers have also pointed out that the act favors integrated device manufacturers, which produce their own chips, over \"fabless\" chipmakers, which outsource manufacturing to third-party foundries. All that noise can make it difficult to figure out exactly which chipmakers would benefit from the passage of the CHIPS Act. So today, I'll highlight three chip stocks that could rally the most if it's approved.1. IntelIntel is an integrated device manufacturer that still produces most of its chips, but over the past decade, it fell behind Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(also known as TSMC) in the \"process race\" to create smaller and denser chips. Intel lost its crown as it struggled with R&D blunders, manufacturing mishaps, chip shortages, and delays. TSMC also started installing ASML Holding's top-tier extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems -- which etch circuit patterns into the world's most advanced chips -- long before Intel did.As a result, Intel is now approximately one to two chip generations behind TSMC. TSMC plans to boost its capital expenditures from 2021's $30 billion to a historic high of $40 billion in 2022 to maintain that lead. Intel can only afford to increase its capital expenditures to $27 billion this year -- yet it claims it can catch up to TSMC in the process race by 2025.That's why Intel has been aggressively lobbying for the approval of the CHIPS Act. As the country's largest chipmaker, it believes it can secure a large portion of those subsidies, allowing it to close its spending gap with TSMC. It also plans to open up its domestic foundries to fabless chipmakers, which could help it challenge TSMC in the third-party contract chipmaking market.2. Taiwan Semiconductor ManufacturingAt first glance, the CHIPS Act seems aimed at reducing the dependence of fabless chipmakers like Advanced Micro Devices, Nvidia, and Qualcomm on TSMC and other Asian foundries. However, the U.S. has also been courting TSMC with subsidies to convince it to open more stateside foundries. Back in 2020, Washington subsidized the construction of TSMC's $12 billion plant in Arizona for the production of its 5nm chips -- which are less advanced than the chips it makes in Taiwan, but far more advanced than the older-generation chips it manufactures in China.Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger loudly protested that decision, but the CHIPS Act would likely free up more subsidies for TSMC's Arizona plant and other foundries it might open in the future. If TSMC builds additional plants in the U.S., it could conceivably snuff out Intel's plans of becoming a major third-party contract chipmaker.3. Texas InstrumentsTexas Instruments provides a wide range of analog and embedded chips to the automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, and communications industries. It manufactures its analog chips at its own foundries and outsources some of its embedded chips to overseas foundries.Over the past few years, Texas Instruments has been upgrading its own plants from 200mm to 300mm wafers to reduce the costs of its unpackaged parts by roughly 40%. That strategy enabled it to consistently expand its gross margins. But earlier this year, it announced that it would increase its capital expenditures to about $3.5 billion annually -- a mid-teens percentage of its projected revenues -- over the next four years to upgrade its plants. It also plans to keep that spending elevated at about 10% of its revenues from 2025 to 2030.Texas Instruments can easily handle that spending boost, but it could change the public perception of the chipmaker as a shareholder-friendly company that regularly returns all of its free cash flow to investors through buybacks and dividends. The CHIPS Act might help it mitigate that spending pressure. Not all chipmakers will benefit from the CHIPS ActShares of Intel, TSMC, and Texas Instruments will likely rally if the CHIPS Act is finally approved, as will shares of other American integrated device manufacturers like Micron Technology or Skyworks Solutions. However, fabless chipmakers like Nvidia, AMD, and Qualcomm probably won't see much of a boost, since they're still dependent on big Asian foundries like TSMC and Samsung. The CHIPS Act won't be a magic bullet for the U.S. semiconductor industry, but it could convince more chipmakers to build first-party fabrication plants domestically again.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TXN":0.6,"INTC":0.9,"TSM":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":637,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9074053327,"gmtCreate":1658277285569,"gmtModify":1676536132648,"author":{"id":"4105508183426640","authorId":"4105508183426640","name":"katang_sunse","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f730004f590af4db103e4a70cbd6d06b","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4105508183426640","idStr":"4105508183426640"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"hope it goes well","listText":"hope it goes well","text":"hope it goes well","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9074053327","repostId":"2252827277","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2252827277","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1658273495,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2252827277?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-07-20 07:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"GlobalFoundries CEO: New York Chip Factory Likely Delayed If U.S. Subsidy Bill Fails","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2252827277","media":"Reuters","summary":"A planned semiconductor factory in upstate New York will likely be delayed if a bill to bolster the ","content":"

A planned semiconductor factory in upstate New York will likely be delayed if a bill to bolster the U.S. computer chip industry fails to pass in the coming weeks, the chief executive of GlobalFoundries Inc told Reuters on Tuesday.

The U.S. Senate is due to vote later on Tuesday on a slimmed-down version of legislation to provide $52 billion in subsidies and tax credits for the industry more than a year after passing its first version of a bill.

The bill would provide payments to companies like Intel Corp, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co and GlobalFoundries to construct chip factories in the United States.

Last year, GlobalFoundries, which makes chips for the U.S. military and other customers, said it would build a second factory at its headquarters in Malta, New York.
