If laws and regulations go wrong, they can quickly create systemic failures and t","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/61c65633b48dafbcfdcb01ebed89eb19","width":"622","height":"390"},{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/3b08baf5b40f43bdd24fdd982ecb6ca5","width":"656","height":"533"},{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0cf93bc581b2dec9785755cd9b7b9725","width":"709","height":"517"}],"top":1,"highlighted":2,"essential":2,"paper":2,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9943561235","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":0,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":5,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":125,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9943188144,"gmtCreate":1679278756288,"gmtModify":1679278759035,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ ","listText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ ","text":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9943188144","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":321,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":9037059567,"gmtCreate":1647995165370,"gmtModify":1676534290154,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[smile] [smile] ","listText":"[smile] [smile] ","text":"[smile] [smile]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9037059567","repostId":"1174858105","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":255,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097608138,"gmtCreate":1645424209468,"gmtModify":1676534026944,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[smile] [smile] ","listText":"[smile] [smile] ","text":"[smile] [smile]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097608138","repostId":"1142681289","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1142681289","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1645399013,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1142681289?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-21 07:16","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Is the Stock Market Open on Presidents Day? It conveniently groups together some of the largest modern technology companies in the world, namely:

Facebook, which now trades under Meta Platforms

Amazon

Apple

Netflix

Google, which trades under Alphabet

The five stocks are known for their soaring long-term returns, with Amazon, Apple, and Alphabet each worth over $1 trillion today. While they're still some of the greatest companies investors can buy, there might be a new generation of FAANG stocks emerging.

A panel of three Motley Fool contributors has just coined the CASH acronym, covering Cloudflare (NET 3.58%), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD 2.76%), and Shopify (SHOP 0.84%). Here's what makes them worth buying.

A disruptive cloud computing company

Trevor Jennewine (Cloudflare): The cloud computing industry is dominated by tech titans like Amazon Web Services (AWS), but Cloudflare has distinguished itself in several ways, and the company is growing at a tremendous pace.

Cloudflare operates a global edge cloud. Its infrastructure spans 275Ā cities, interconnecting with thousands of other networks, including every major internet service provider. That makes Cloudflare very fast. Its infrastructure sits within 50 milliseconds of 95% of the globe's internet-connected population, and internal studies suggest that Cloudflare isĀ the fastest network in the vast majority of countries around the world.

Using that advantage, Cloudflare offers a range of application, network, and security services that accelerate and protect business-critical infrastructure, while eliminating the cost and complexity of managing network hardware on site. Cloudflare also provides developer tools that empower customers to create websites, design software, and write code directly on its network. Forrester Research recentlyĀ recognized Cloudflare as the leader in edge development.

Additionally, Cloudflare is designed to support hybrid cloud and multicloud strategies. Think of its network as a single pane of glass that provides each customer with visibility, performance, and security across its entire IT ecosystem, from private data centers to public clouds. That differentiates Cloudflare from public cloud vendors, because those vendors tend to favor their own technologies.

Cloudflare grew its customer base 20% to 151,000 over the past year, and the average customer spent 26% more, underscoring an effective land-and-expand strategy. In turn, revenue skyrocketed 53% to $813 million, and the company generated $36 million in cash from operations. That meager cash flow may worry some investors, but Cloudflare puts its market opportunity at $135 billionĀ by 2024 and management plans to run the business near breakeven for the foreseeable future to capitalize on that.

Given its competitive strengths and sizable market opportunity, the future looks bright for Cloudflare. That's why this growth stock is a buy.

The leader in high-performance computing

Anthony Di Pizio (Advanced Micro Devices):Ā It's hard to find a product or service today that hasn't been digitized in some way, and it's made possible thanks to advanced computer chips delivering smaller, cheaper, and more portable processing power. Advanced Micro Devices is a world-leading producer of such chips (commercially known as semiconductors), and it's the driving force behind some of the most popular consumer electronics.

The company's chips power both Sony'sĀ PlayStation 5 and Microsoft'sĀ Xbox, in addition to the infotainment systems in Tesla'sĀ line of electric vehicles. That should be enough to highlight AMD's importance to everyday life, but of course, the company does so much more.

AMD has a booming data center segment, which grew 83% year over year in the second quarter of 2022, delivering $1.5 billion in revenue. The company has some of the largest providers of cloud services as data center customers including Microsoft (Azure), and two of the FAANG names -- Amazon (Amazon Web Services) and Alphabet (Google Cloud).

But it's AMD's recent $49 billion acquisition of Xilinx that could be the real growth fuel in the long run. Xilinx is the adaptive computing industry leader, a technology that involves semiconductors that adjust to the users' requirements in real time, reducing the need to constantly swap out hardware. AMD believes this is the next frontier, and the newly combined companies will likely make for the undisputed leader in high-performance computing over the next 10 years and beyond.

AMD's market valuation stands at just $158 billion right now, which is measly by FAANG standards, but there's no question the company is as impactful to the technology sector as any one of the names in that acronym. Right now, AMD stock trades at a cheaper price-to-earnings multiple (25.5) than the Nasdaq-100 tech index (26.8), so it might be a great time to start building a position.

This top dog is down, but not out

Jamie Louko (Shopify): Shopify has had its ups and downs recently, and the stock has certainly gotten punished for it. Shares of this e-commerce platform are down 78% from their all-time highs. Part of the reason for this is that the company is seeing e-commerce as a percentage of U.S. retail sales trend downward, and while e-commerce adoption is still higher than it was in 2019, it is falling back in line with pre-pandemic growth projections.

However, e-commerce is expected to become increasingly popular, and Shopify will likely benefit. The company enables small businesses to start, run, and grow their operations to help compete with bigger e-commerce sites. This endeavor has been quite successful: Shopify now has millions of merchants around the world, enabling almost $47 billion in merchandise volume sales in the second quarter of 2022.

Shopify merchants represented over 10% of U.S. retail e-commerce sales in 2021, but the company could take more share. Shopify is known for innovation and continuously offering new features and products to help its merchants thrive. This could transform Shopify into a gold-standard platform and help it take market share.

One of Shopify's latest innovations is the Shopify Fulfillment Network (SFN), which allows merchants to offload shipping and fulfillment duties to Shopify. This will be expensive to build, but it could add value. One of the advantages bigger e-commerce players have over small businesses is fast delivery times, so the fact that Shopify can achieve two-day delivery for the majority of orders could be a huge incentive to use Shopify's platform.

Shopify is a leader in the small business space and is attacking a large market. Its high switching costs also make its platform sticky. The company trades at 9.3 times sales -- a historically low valuation since it came public in 2015. It conveniently groups together some of the largest modern technology companies in the world, namely:Facebook, which now trades under Meta PlatformsAmazonAppleNetflixGoogle, which trades under AlphabetThe five stocks are known for their soaring long-term returns, with Amazon, Apple, and Alphabet each worth over $1 trillion today. While they're still some of the greatest companies investors can buy, there might be a new generation of FAANG stocks emerging.A panel of three Motley Fool contributors has just coined the CASH acronym, covering Cloudflare (NET 3.58%), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD 2.76%), and Shopify (SHOP 0.84%). Here's what makes them worth buying.A disruptive cloud computing companyTrevor Jennewine (Cloudflare): The cloud computing industry is dominated by tech titans like Amazon Web Services (AWS), but Cloudflare has distinguished itself in several ways, and the company is growing at a tremendous pace.Cloudflare operates a global edge cloud. Its infrastructure spans 275Ā cities, interconnecting with thousands of other networks, including every major internet service provider. That makes Cloudflare very fast. Its infrastructure sits within 50 milliseconds of 95% of the globe's internet-connected population, and internal studies suggest that Cloudflare isĀ the fastest network in the vast majority of countries around the world.Using that advantage, Cloudflare offers a range of application, network, and security services that accelerate and protect business-critical infrastructure, while eliminating the cost and complexity of managing network hardware on site. Cloudflare also provides developer tools that empower customers to create websites, design software, and write code directly on its network. Forrester Research recentlyĀ recognized Cloudflare as the leader in edge development.Additionally, Cloudflare is designed to support hybrid cloud and multicloud strategies. Think of its network as a single pane of glass that provides each customer with visibility, performance, and security across its entire IT ecosystem, from private data centers to public clouds. That differentiates Cloudflare from public cloud vendors, because those vendors tend to favor their own technologies.Cloudflare grew its customer base 20% to 151,000 over the past year, and the average customer spent 26% more, underscoring an effective land-and-expand strategy. In turn, revenue skyrocketed 53% to $813 million, and the company generated $36 million in cash from operations. That meager cash flow may worry some investors, but Cloudflare puts its market opportunity at $135 billionĀ by 2024 and management plans to run the business near breakeven for the foreseeable future to capitalize on that.Given its competitive strengths and sizable market opportunity, the future looks bright for Cloudflare. That's why this growth stock is a buy.The leader in high-performance computingAnthony Di Pizio (Advanced Micro Devices):Ā It's hard to find a product or service today that hasn't been digitized in some way, and it's made possible thanks to advanced computer chips delivering smaller, cheaper, and more portable processing power. That should be enough to highlight AMD's importance to everyday life, but of course, the company does so much more.AMD has a booming data center segment, which grew 83% year over year in the second quarter of 2022, delivering $1.5 billion in revenue. AMD believes this is the next frontier, and the newly combined companies will likely make for the undisputed leader in high-performance computing over the next 10 years and beyond.AMD's market valuation stands at just $158 billion right now, which is measly by FAANG standards, but there's no question the company is as impactful to the technology sector as any one of the names in that acronym. Right now, AMD stock trades at a cheaper price-to-earnings multiple (25.5) than the Nasdaq-100 tech index (26.8), so it might be a great time to start building a position. This top dog is down, but not outJamie Louko (Shopify): Shopify has had its ups and downs recently, and the stock has certainly gotten punished for it. This endeavor has been quite successful: Shopify now has millions of merchants around the world, enabling almost $47 billion in merchandise volume sales in the second quarter of 2022.Shopify merchants represented over 10% of U.S. retail e-commerce sales in 2021, but the company could take more share. One of the advantages bigger e-commerce players have over small businesses is fast delivery times, so the fact that Shopify can achieve two-day delivery for the majority of orders could be a huge incentive to use Shopify's platform.Shopify is a leader in the small business space and is attacking a large market. Its high switching costs also make its platform sticky. The company trades at 9.3 times sales -- a historically low valuation since it came public in 2015. While that's higher than other e-commerce stocks like EtsyĀ and BigCommerce HoldingsĀ Shopify's competitive advantages might be worth a premium.Given this historically reasonable price, investors might want to invest in this top dog and hold for the long haul.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":182,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9946417577,"gmtCreate":1681019322700,"gmtModify":1681019326233,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Today is special day","listText":"Today is special day","text":"Today is special day","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9946417577","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":306,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097350548,"gmtCreate":1645347518304,"gmtModify":1676534020704,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[smile] ","listText":"[smile] ","text":"[smile]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097350548","repostId":"1171234681","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1171234681","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1645324391,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1171234681?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-20 10:33","market":"us","language":"en","title":"PayPal: Panic Time","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1171234681","media":"Seeking Alpha","summary":"SummaryPayPal has executed well during the pandemic, but the market bid up shares to unreasonably hi","content":"

Summary

PayPal has executed well during the pandemic, but the market bid up shares to unreasonably high levels.

This has been corrected now, as shares have been falling for months.

Right now, PayPal actually trades at a huge discount compared to how the company was valued in the past. (PYPL) has seen its shares drop tremendously over the last couple of months. From a very overvalued level, shares have now dropped to abelow-averagevaluation. PayPal has a solid long-term growth outlook I believe, even though it's not as dominant as some other payment companies, such as Visa (V) or Mastercard (MA).

With the market seemingly in panic mode when it comes to PayPal, sending shares lower every day, investors with a long-term focus could benefit a lot from the current, pretty weak sentiment by buying when the market is fearful. One can argue that investors should wait for shares to bottom out before stepping into a position, but the current very oversold condition could make a bounce likely in the near term.

Fintechs As A COVID Play Get Decimated

During the first phase of the pandemic, some tech companies that were seen as pandemic beneficiaries saw their shares rally to new highs, even as the broad market was struggling. This included PayPal Holdings and many of its peers in the fintech industry. On the back of rising e-commerce sales, investors were convinced that PayPal and its peers would grow massively in the pandemic environment. And indeed, 2020 and 2021 were very solid years for PayPal:

PYPL results (Seeking Alpha)

We see that PayPal was able to grow its revenue by around 20%-30% between Q2 2020 and Q2 2021, i.e. during the first year of the pandemic. During the second half of 2021, growth slowed down but remained at a solid low-teens level. Looking at PYPL's share price history, the market was overreacting quite a lot to this compelling underlying growth. PYPL's shares did not rise by 20% or 30% in 2020 and 2021. Instead, shares climbed from $108 at the beginning of 2020 to $310 at the peak, which equates to a 190% increase in its share price. This was clearly not warranted by the underlying growth the company experienced. Instead, these huge share price gains were primarily driven by massive multiple expansion. That is a great thing to happen for those that boughtbeforemultiples started to expand and that sold at the top. But for those that bought at historically high valuations, the story is different. Despite the fact that PayPal has continued to deliver solid business growth in the last two quarters, those that bought at the highs have seen their investment crash by around 70% -- it will take a 200% increase in PayPal's share price for them to break even. Valuations don't matter until they do, and those that chased PYPL without considering the high valuation paid the price.

For those that remained on the sidelines, or that locked in gains on the way up, the recent massive pullback could provide for a compelling entry point, however. In 2022 alone, PayPal has dropped by 42%, and the company has lost about $240 billion in market capitalization from the highs seen last year. PayPal is not alone in that, however. Instead, many other "bubbly", overly expensive pandemic favorites among the fintech names have performed badly in recent months as well:

Data by YCharts

SoFi Technologies (SOFI), Upstart Holdings (UPST), and LendingClub (LC) all saw their shares drop by 50% to 60%+ from the highs they hit last year. PayPal thus is not an outlier. Instead, it has performed more or less in line with how some of its peers performed. The whole industry was trading at unreasonable levels last year and has now been correcting for months.

PayPal's Growth Potential In The Coming Years

PayPal is a household name with strong brand recognition and belongs to the largest payment companies in the world. Its total payment volume has easily surpassed $1 trillion in 2021:

PYPL TPV and revenue (PYPL presentation)

With total payment volume at $1.25 trillion in 2021, PayPal is still substantially smaller than some of the credit card giants such as Visa (which has TPV of aroundĀ $3 trillionĀ per quarter) or Mastercard, but outside of those two, PayPal is a leading player in the payment space. PayPal also managed to grow its payment volume at an attractive pace in 2021, at 33%.

Revenue, meanwhile, grew by 18% in 2021. That's a very solid growth rate in absolute terms, but at the same time, the substantial discrepancy between PayPal's TPV growth and its revenue growth shows that the company's take rate continues to decline -- which naturally isn't positive at all. As long as TPV continues to grow at a rapid pace, revenues should continue to grow, however.

For 2022, PayPal is forecasting payment volumes of $1.5 trillion, or about 20% more than in 2021. Revenues are expected to climb by around 16% this year. On one hand, this means that the take rate will continue to shrink, as revenues will underperform TPV growth again. But the discrepancy will be lower than in 2021, which indicates that the take rate is declining at a slower pace this year. If PayPal manages to stop the take rate declines eventually, that would be a very positive development, as it would allow the company to grow its revenue in line with future TPV growth.

The overall payment volume growth outlook for PayPal is solid beyond 2022 as well. E-commerce spending will continue to grow around the globe, with projections seeing double-digit growth in 2023, 2024, and 2025:

E-commerce growth (statista.com)

With global e-commerce sales continuing to grow, fintech companies and payment solution players such as PayPal operate with steady macro tailwinds. In other areas, the macro outlook is positive as well. In a world that grows ever more connected, cross-border payment volumes should continue to climb. Here, PayPal is advantaged to benefit from market growth, as its technology and availability in many different countries positions it well to be one of the top players in processing these growing cross-border payment volumes.

With PayPal adding new users constantly (10 million during the most recent quarter alone), it should be able to grow its payment volumes at an attractive pace for many years. With more and more consumers around the world accessing the internet, PayPal still has significant growth potential when it comes to the number of customers it serves.

PayPal's Valuation: Getting Very Reasonable

PayPal always was seen as a growth company, thus its shares never were particularly cheap. Even before shares moved upwards at a rapid pace in 2020 and 2021, PayPal used to be a pricy stock:

Data by YCharts

The 5-year and 7-year median earnings multiples are in the 50s. At the heights during the COVID bubble, PayPal was even more expensive, however. At a peak price of $310 in 2021, shares were valued at around 70x 2021's earnings per share -- it is not surprising that buying at that valuation didn't work out for investors.

Likewise, PayPal always traded with a relatively high EV/EBITDA multiple, with the longer-term median readings standing at around 30. During the heights in 2021, shares were even more expensive.

With shares dropping to just above $100, they have become way more reasonably valued, however. Based on current expectations, shares are, in fact, trading at a huge discount compared to how PYPL was valued in the past:

Data by YCharts

Shares are trading for 23x this year's expected earnings per share, while the earnings multiple based on next year's expected EPS is just 18. Likewise, the EV/EBITDA multiple is standing at just 17 today. These valuations are roughly half as high as the longer-term median valuations shown above. One can argue, of course, that PYPL always was too expensive when it traded at 50x earnings or higher in the past, and that seems like a very reasonable argument to me. On top of that, investors should also consider that the law of large numbers dictates that PayPal's growth in the coming years will likely be weaker than over the last five years. 2022 will also be a year during which PayPal will not grow its earnings per share meaningfully, despite solid revenue growth being expected, which can be explained by management's plan to invest in growth initiatives such as its Pay Later offerings.

There are thus good reasons to believe that PayPal will never again trade at 50x net profits, but the current valuation nevertheless seems far from high. A company that grows its revenue at double-digits and that will likely do so for years, and that trades at just above 20x net profits, seems like a very reasonable value to me.

Things To Consider

PayPal has ramped up its buybacks in Q4, returning $1.5 billion to its owners via share repurchases in that quarter alone ($3.4 billion in all of 2021). With shares becoming way less expensive in 2022 so far, PayPal hopefully will ramp up its buybacks further. Shares have dropped more than 40% so far this year, which means that buybacks at current prices are way more powerful than they were last year. In retrospect, timing with buybacks in 2021 has not been great at all, but the company's interest in returning cash to its owners via buybacks generally is positive. If PayPal keeps that going, the share count could shrink quite a lot this year and beyond.

From a technical perspective, PayPal's shares are oversold in the short term. The stock's relative strength index stands at an abysmally low21right now, with RSI readings below 30 generally suggesting that shares are oversold. From a technical perspective, a bounce would thus not be overly surprising. On the other hand, there's the old adage of never trying to catch a falling knife -- and PYPL surely is a falling knife right now. Since markets are still pretty jittery due to macro factors such as Fed policy, the Ukraine situation, etc. it seems very much possible that PYPL will fall under $100 in the coming days or weeks. Waiting for an even more opportune entry point could thus pay off.

Takeaway

During the pandemic, PYPL was bid up to bubble levels. Over the last couple of months, however, the market seems to be in panic mode -- shares have sold off massively, with them dropping more than 40% in 2022 alone. Shares have fallen through their historical valuation ranges and are now trading at a huge discount compared to how PYPL was valued in the past. On top of that, shares are oversold from a technical perspective.PYPL will likely deliver solid returns in the long run from the current level. But with markets in panic mode, investors might get an even better deal in the coming weeks.Nattakorn Maneerat/iStock via Getty ImagesArticle ThesisIn the wake of a large-scale fintech sell-off, PayPal Holdings, Inc. (PYPL) has seen its shares drop tremendously over the last couple of months. From a very overvalued level, shares have now dropped to abelow-averagevaluation. PayPal has a solid long-term growth outlook I believe, even though it's not as dominant as some other payment companies, such as Visa (V) or Mastercard (MA).With the market seemingly in panic mode when it comes to PayPal, sending shares lower every day, investors with a long-term focus could benefit a lot from the current, pretty weak sentiment by buying when the market is fearful. One can argue that investors should wait for shares to bottom out before stepping into a position, but the current very oversold condition could make a bounce likely in the near term.Fintechs As A COVID Play Get DecimatedDuring the first phase of the pandemic, some tech companies that were seen as pandemic beneficiaries saw their shares rally to new highs, even as the broad market was struggling. This included PayPal Holdings and many of its peers in the fintech industry. On the back of rising e-commerce sales, investors were convinced that PayPal and its peers would grow massively in the pandemic environment. And indeed, 2020 and 2021 were very solid years for PayPal:PYPL results (Seeking Alpha)We see that PayPal was able to grow its revenue by around 20%-30% between Q2 2020 and Q2 2021, i.e. during the first year of the pandemic. Instead, many other \"bubbly\", overly expensive pandemic favorites among the fintech names have performed badly in recent months as well:Data by YChartsSoFi Technologies (SOFI), Upstart Holdings (UPST), and LendingClub (LC) all saw their shares drop by 50% to 60%+ from the highs they hit last year. PayPal thus is not an outlier. Instead, it has performed more or less in line with how some of its peers performed. The whole industry was trading at unreasonable levels last year and has now been correcting for months.PayPal's Growth Potential In The Coming YearsPayPal is a household name with strong brand recognition and belongs to the largest payment companies in the world. Its total payment volume has easily surpassed $1 trillion in 2021:PYPL TPV and revenue (PYPL presentation)With total payment volume at $1.25 trillion in 2021, PayPal is still substantially smaller than some of the credit card giants such as Visa (which has TPV of aroundĀ $3 trillionĀ per quarter) or Mastercard, but outside of those two, PayPal is a leading player in the payment space. PayPal also managed to grow its payment volume at an attractive pace in 2021, at 33%.Revenue, meanwhile, grew by 18% in 2021. E-commerce spending will continue to grow around the globe, with projections seeing double-digit growth in 2023, 2024, and 2025:E-commerce growth (statista.com)With global e-commerce sales continuing to grow, fintech companies and payment solution players such as PayPal operate with steady macro tailwinds. With more and more consumers around the world accessing the internet, PayPal still has significant growth potential when it comes to the number of customers it serves.PayPal's Valuation: Getting Very ReasonablePayPal always was seen as a growth company, thus its shares never were particularly cheap. Even before shares moved upwards at a rapid pace in 2020 and 2021, PayPal used to be a pricy stock:Data by YChartsThe 5-year and 7-year median earnings multiples are in the 50s. At the heights during the COVID bubble, PayPal was even more expensive, however. At a peak price of $310 in 2021, shares were valued at around 70x 2021's earnings per share -- it is not surprising that buying at that valuation didn't work out for investors.Likewise, PayPal always traded with a relatively high EV/EBITDA multiple, with the longer-term median readings standing at around 30. During the heights in 2021, shares were even more expensive. With shares dropping to just above $100, they have become way more reasonably valued, however. Based on current expectations, shares are, in fact, trading at a huge discount compared to how PYPL was valued in the past:Data by YChartsShares are trading for 23x this year's expected earnings per share, while the earnings multiple based on next year's expected EPS is just 18. A company that grows its revenue at double-digits and that will likely do so for years, and that trades at just above 20x net profits, seems like a very reasonable value to me.Things To ConsiderPayPal has ramped up its buybacks in Q4, returning $1.5 billion to its owners via share repurchases in that quarter alone ($3.4 billion in all of 2021). Waiting for an even more opportune entry point could thus pay off.TakeawayDuring the pandemic, PYPL was bid up to bubble levels. Over the last couple of months, however, the market seems to be in panic mode -- shares have sold off massively, with them dropping more than 40% in 2022 alone. Shares have fallen through their historical valuation ranges and are now trading at a huge discount compared to how PYPL was valued in the past. From a technical perspective, shares are way oversold as well.I do believe that PayPal is very reasonably valued today and that there is a good chance that investors will see healthy returns over the coming years when they buy today. But waiting for an even better entry point could allow for even better returns. Since markets are willing to sell fintech companies at any price right now, even lower entry points would not be a large surprise, I believe.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":237,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9944624548,"gmtCreate":1681834128885,"gmtModify":1681834133180,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"What a wonderful day ","listText":"What a wonderful day ","text":"What a wonderful day","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9944624548","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":472,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9943188144,"gmtCreate":1679278756288,"gmtModify":1679278759035,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ ","listText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ ","text":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9943188144","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":321,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9027214208,"gmtCreate":1654042456404,"gmtModify":1676535382845,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[smile] ","listText":"[smile] ","text":"[smile]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9027214208","repostId":"2239230108","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2239230108","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1654055194,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2239230108?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-06-01 11:46","market":"us","language":"en","title":"5 Top Stocks for June: Roku, Redfin, Meritage, Graftech and MercadoLibre","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2239230108","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"With summer heating up, will the market finally catch a break?","content":"

After year a like this, who couldn't use a little summer vacation?

Around Memorial Day, the S&P 500 was down 13% for the year. Concerns about inflation, rising interest rates, the war in Ukraine, and supply chain snags have all combined to sink stocks as investors prepare for a slowing economy.

Though the market has rallied over the last few days to bring the broad-market index off of its recent lows, the volatility is likely to continue. Though uncertain times might seem scary, they are often good buying opportunities for long-term investors. Keep reading to see why Roku,Ā Redfin,Ā Meritage Homes,Ā Graftech International, andĀ MercadoLibre are all ripe for the picking in June.

Don't change the channel on this stock just yet

Chris Neiger (Roku): Investing in a tech stock in this market feels like a decision that could backfire, but there are more than a few good reasons why Roku's video streaming platform could end up being a fantastic long-term play. Here are three.

First, the company's number of active accounts is impressive and continues to grow. In Roku's first quarter, the company had 61.3 million active accounts -- a 14% increase from the year-ago quarter.

Some of that growth came as people were spending lots of time at home last year, but it's not just the company's accounts that are increasing -- Roku users are also spending tons of time on the platform even as most COVID-19 restrictions have tapered off.

Which leads to the second reason Roku looks like a good bet: Its engagement is higher than ever. Roku says that in the first quarter of 2022 its users streamed nearly 21 billion hours of programming, up 14% from the year-ago quarter. That keeps Roku as the No. 1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico and indicates that even as things have opened back up, Roku users are still tuning in.

So Roku has lots of active accounts with people who are very engaged with the platform, but the icing on the cake here is that all of those accounts and TV viewing are also translating into impressive revenue gains.

Roku's average revenue per user (ARPU) grew by an impressive 34% in the first quarter to $42.91. That increase helped boost net sales by 28% year over year and shows that the company knows how to convert users into paying customers.

In normal times, all of Roku's growth would have likely translated into a rising share price. But these aren't normal times. Rising inflation and recession worries are taking the steam out of stocks right now. But smart investors know that when others are panicking in the market, it's a good time to snatch up great companies at a discount -- and Roku fits the bill.

A true disruptor at a fire-sale valuation

Matt Frankel, CFP (Redfin): Redfin isn't exactly a low-risk stock, but with shares 85% below their 52-week high, it could be worth a closer look for patient, long-term investors.

Redfin's core business is its tech-focused real estate brokerage. There are other companies attempting to use technology to disrupt the business, but Redfin is the only one that seems interested in disrupting the antiquated commission structure of real estate sales. If you sell a home with a Redfin agent, you'll pay just 1.5% (or less) -- half of the industry standard 3% rate. With home prices rising rapidly, an extra 1.5% in sellers' pockets can be a huge advantage. The brokerage business continues to gain share and currently has 1.18% of all existing home sales in the United States.

In addition to the brokerage business, Redfin recently acquired Bay Equity Home Loans, which offers title and settlement services and immediately makes Redfin a serious player in the mortgage industry. And through its RedfinNow iBuying business, Redfin directly bought and resold more than 1,200 homes in 2021. Finally, Redfin recently took a major step into the rental side of real estate, acquiring RentPath out of bankruptcy, giving it the extremely valuable Apartment Guide and Rent.com brands and capabilities to bring rental searches to its own platform.

Redfin aims to not only evolve into a one-stop shop for real estate, but one where consumers save time and money over the legacy players in the space. With a market cap of less than $1.1 billion (less than half of Redfin's trailing-12-month sales), now could be a good time for risk-tolerant investors to add shares.

A deep value play on the real housing crisis

Jason Hall (Meritage Homes): The SPDR S&P Homebuilders Pacer Swan SOS Fund of Funds ETF|ETF, which tracks homebuilders and related companies, has fallen more than 30% from its highs, even more than theĀ S&P 500.

Skyrocketing interest rates, home prices, and the cost of nearly everything else have spooked investors. Fears of a housing crisis are rampant.

But investors are focusing the wrong numbers. The realĀ housing crisis is a massive lack of supply. Let's start with the inventory of existing homes for sale.

US Existing Home Inventory data by YCharts

Existing homes for sale have fallen to the lowest levels on record over the past year. The 2.2-month supply is less than halfĀ the four-to-six-month supply that is considered healthy. There are multiple reasons for this result, but the biggest is the utter collapse in homebuilding after the global financial crisis. Now, there's not enough to go around.

US Housing Completed data by YCharts

While home construction fell to five-decade lows, household formation and the population continued to rise:

US Household Formation data by YCharts

This is an incredible opportunity for Meritage Homes.Ā After a record 2021, Meritage expects to sell 17% more homes in 2022, and EPS to grow 40%. At recent prices, you can buy Meritage Homes for about three times 2022 earnings.

There's certainly short-term risk if the economy struggles. But the massive shortage of homes needs to be filled, and Meritage is primed to be a huge winner in the years ahead.

A unique lithium opportunity

Tyler Crowe (GrafTech International): You've probably never heard of GrafTech, but hear me out. GrafTech manufactures two critical industrial components: Graphite electrodes for making steel in electric arc furnaces, and electrodes for lithium-ion batteries. GrafTech owns 25% of the global market outside of China and one of the five factories that can produce needle coke, the raw material needed for making graphite electrodes. It is a critical cog in making steel and lithium-ion batteries that will be incredibly difficult to replicate or replace.

The company had struggled with debt before being bought out by Brookfield Asset Management in 2015, which then took it public again in 2018. Since that time, the company has drastically improved its cost structure and it now generates lots of free cash flow. Over the past 12 months, it generated 18% of its market cap in free cash flow.Ā That cash has largely been used to pay down debt, but it also just bought back $30 million worth of shares in the most recent quarter, a sign that management is more comfortable with its debt levels.

Yes, it's a niche business. And yes, it is exposed to cyclical markets like steel. But the fact of the matter is that it is a quality business that churns out free cash flow. Today, its stock trades for only 5.3 times earnings. Not a lot can go wrong for a stock that's priced that low.

An overlooked e-commerce stock

Jeremy Bowman (MercadoLibre):Ā The e-commerce sector hasn't gotten much love lately. First-quarter growth rates were among the worst in memory.Ā AmazonĀ is subletting excess warehouse space, and several growth stocks posted year-over-year declines in gross merchandise volume.

However, one e-commerce stock that's continued to grow in spite of the headwinds is MercadoLibre. Currency-neutral revenue jumped 67% in the first quarter to $2.2 billion with a 32% increase in gross merchandise volume to $7.7 billion and an 81% jump in total payment volume to $25.3 billion.

In addition to being Latin America's leading e-commerce operator, it's also built a healthy payments business through Mercado Pago, and by installing point-of-sale machines with brick-and-mortar merchants, has tapped into offline retail as well as online retail.

Additionally, the company has its own logistics service, Mercado Envios; an asset management branch, MercadoFondo; and a financing arm, Mercado Credito.

In many ways, the company resembles a Latin American Amazon, leveraging its lead in e-commerce to strengthen its competitive advantage through new businesses. Concerns about inflation, rising interest rates, the war in Ukraine, and supply chain snags have all combined to sink stocks as investors prepare for a slowing economy.Though the market has rallied over the last few days to bring the broad-market index off of its recent lows, the volatility is likely to continue. Though uncertain times might seem scary, they are often good buying opportunities for long-term investors. Keep reading to see why Roku,Ā Redfin,Ā Meritage Homes,Ā Graftech International, andĀ MercadoLibre are all ripe for the picking in June.Don't change the channel on this stock just yetChris Neiger (Roku): Investing in a tech stock in this market feels like a decision that could backfire, but there are more than a few good reasons why Roku's video streaming platform could end up being a fantastic long-term play. Here are three.First, the company's number of active accounts is impressive and continues to grow. In Roku's first quarter, the company had 61.3 million active accounts -- a 14% increase from the year-ago quarter. Some of that growth came as people were spending lots of time at home last year, but it's not just the company's accounts that are increasing -- Roku users are also spending tons of time on the platform even as most COVID-19 restrictions have tapered off.Which leads to the second reason Roku looks like a good bet: Its engagement is higher than ever. Roku says that in the first quarter of 2022 its users streamed nearly 21 billion hours of programming, up 14% from the year-ago quarter. That keeps Roku as the No. 1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico and indicates that even as things have opened back up, Roku users are still tuning in.So Roku has lots of active accounts with people who are very engaged with the platform, but the icing on the cake here is that all of those accounts and TV viewing are also translating into impressive revenue gains.Roku's average revenue per user (ARPU) grew by an impressive 34% in the first quarter to $42.91. That increase helped boost net sales by 28% year over year and shows that the company knows how to convert users into paying customers. In normal times, all of Roku's growth would have likely translated into a rising share price. But these aren't normal times. Rising inflation and recession worries are taking the steam out of stocks right now. But smart investors know that when others are panicking in the market, it's a good time to snatch up great companies at a discount -- and Roku fits the bill.A true disruptor at a fire-sale valuationMatt Frankel, CFP (Redfin): Redfin isn't exactly a low-risk stock, but with shares 85% below their 52-week high, it could be worth a closer look for patient, long-term investors.Redfin's core business is its tech-focused real estate brokerage. Finally, Redfin recently took a major step into the rental side of real estate, acquiring RentPath out of bankruptcy, giving it the extremely valuable Apartment Guide and Rent.com brands and capabilities to bring rental searches to its own platform.Redfin aims to not only evolve into a one-stop shop for real estate, but one where consumers save time and money over the legacy players in the space. With a market cap of less than $1.1 billion (less than half of Redfin's trailing-12-month sales), now could be a good time for risk-tolerant investors to add shares.A deep value play on the real housing crisisJason Hall (Meritage Homes): The SPDR S&P Homebuilders Pacer Swan SOS Fund of Funds ETF|ETF, which tracks homebuilders and related companies, has fallen more than 30% from its highs, even more than theĀ S&P 500.Skyrocketing interest rates, home prices, and the cost of nearly everything else have spooked investors. Fears of a housing crisis are rampant. But investors are focusing the wrong numbers. The realĀ housing crisis is a massive lack of supply. Let's start with the inventory of existing homes for sale.US Existing Home Inventory data by YChartsExisting homes for sale have fallen to the lowest levels on record over the past year. The 2.2-month supply is less than halfĀ the four-to-six-month supply that is considered healthy. There are multiple reasons for this result, but the biggest is the utter collapse in homebuilding after the global financial crisis. Now, there's not enough to go around.US Housing Completed data by YChartsWhile home construction fell to five-decade lows, household formation and the population continued to rise:US Household Formation data by YChartsThis is an incredible opportunity for Meritage Homes.Ā After a record 2021, Meritage expects to sell 17% more homes in 2022, and EPS to grow 40%. At recent prices, you can buy Meritage Homes for about three times 2022 earnings. There's certainly short-term risk if the economy struggles. But the massive shortage of homes needs to be filled, and Meritage is primed to be a huge winner in the years ahead.A unique lithium opportunityTyler Crowe (GrafTech International): You've probably never heard of GrafTech, but hear me out. Over the past 12 months, it generated 18% of its market cap in free cash flow.Ā That cash has largely been used to pay down debt, but it also just bought back $30 million worth of shares in the most recent quarter, a sign that management is more comfortable with its debt levels.Yes, it's a niche business. And yes, it is exposed to cyclical markets like steel. But the fact of the matter is that it is a quality business that churns out free cash flow. Today, its stock trades for only 5.3 times earnings. Not a lot can go wrong for a stock that's priced that low.An overlooked e-commerce stockJeremy Bowman (MercadoLibre):Ā The e-commerce sector hasn't gotten much love lately. In addition to being Latin America's leading e-commerce operator, it's also built a healthy payments business through Mercado Pago, and by installing point-of-sale machines with brick-and-mortar merchants, has tapped into offline retail as well as online retail.Additionally, the company has its own logistics service, Mercado Envios; an asset management branch, MercadoFondo; and a financing arm, Mercado Credito. In many ways, the company resembles a Latin American Amazon, leveraging its lead in e-commerce to strengthen its competitive advantage through new businesses. While the company is still growing briskly, the stock hasn't been immune from the earthquake in e-commerce stocks as it's down roughly 60% from its peak last November. Still, as a pure-play on Latin America, it's much more insulated from a potential U.S. recession than your typical domestic e-commerce stock.Given its growth rate and that profitability is quickly ramping up as the business scales, the stock's 60% slide seems like a mistake. Now's a great time to take advantage.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":382,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":279754453500152,"gmtCreate":1709320889875,"gmtModify":1709320893946,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Frasers L&C Tr(BUOU.SI)$ ","listText":"$Frasers L&C Tr(BUOU.SI)$ ","text":"$Frasers L&C Tr(BUOU.SI)$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0e4a765308c760efa4254b8621ca71e2","width":"894","height":"1508"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/279754453500152","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":224,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":279753627746480,"gmtCreate":1709320844246,"gmtModify":1709320848399,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","listText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","text":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/279753627746480","repostId":"9946353886","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":9946353886,"gmtCreate":1680873253045,"gmtModify":1680873256644,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Enyou your day!!!!!!!!","listText":"Enyou your day!!!!!!!!","text":"Enyou your day!!!!!!!!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9946353886","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":0,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":130,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":256122301710608,"gmtCreate":1703564007981,"gmtModify":1703564011217,"author":{"id":"4106221135642490","authorId":"4106221135642490","name":"Moobox","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2eb25f4bce1f8aa534ec8c4acebdc4ef","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106221135642490","authorIdStr":"4106221135642490"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","listText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","text":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/256122301710608","repostId":"256089598758912","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":256089598758912,"gmtCreate":1703556123461,"gmtModify":1703560111024,"author":{"id":"4102123614530830","authorId":"4102123614530830","name":"nerdbull1669","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/8ac2db9ff7976dac4aa567ce14027bd6","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102123614530830","authorIdStr":"4102123614530830"},"themes":[],"title":"Understand Summary of Economic Projections (SEP) For Rate Cuts","htmlText":"The Fedās Summary of Economic Projections (SEP) sheds light on the central bankās expectations for economic growth, inflation, employment, and interest rates.
