Retail spending has remained robust, even as consumer confidence has waned. \n
\n
\n Wednesday 6/1 \n
\n
\n Chewy, GameStop, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, NetApp, and PVH release quarterly results. \n
\n
\n AmerisourceBergen, LKQ, and Paccar hold investor meetings. \n
\n
\n Alphabet, Comcast, NXP Semiconductors, and Walmart host their annual shareholder meetings. \n
\n
\n The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases its Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. Both Amazon.com and Walmart recently said that they were overstaffed. \n
\n
\n The ISM releases its Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index for May. FQ1'23 earnings on 25 May 2022.

In light of macro issues and the collapse of the cryptocurrency market, we expect short-term pain ahead.

As a result, we encourage patience for NVDA tg-height=\"741\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"/>Diamond Dogs/iStock via Getty Images

Investment Thesis

Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) is expected to report earnings for FQ1'23 on 25 May 2022. However, investors should not be rushing to play the earnings game, considering the macro pessimism. Furthermore, given how NVDA had been closely tied to the cryptocurrency mining, we may expect reduced sales moving forward, seeing how the whole market had lost over $1T of combined value in recent days.

However, we encourage NVDA investors to ignore the noise as the stock remains a solid investment for the next decade. Nonetheless, please do not buy the dip as we expect the stock to retrace in the next few weeks, as the market grapples with the macro pessimism and crypto crash.

Why Did NVDA Fall From Grace?

NVDA Revenue, Net Income, and Gross Margin

S&P Capital IQ

Pre-pandemic, NVDA had grown its revenue and net income at a steady CAGR of 16.44% and 18.9%. It obviously grew exponentially in the past two years, given the massive demand for personal devices due to the increased remote work/ study/ entertainment options during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, NVDA grew its revenues at a tremendous CAGR of 57.05%, while its net income rose even faster at a CAGR of 86.94%. The company also steadily improved its gross margins from 58.8% in FY2017 to 64.9% in FY2022.

NVDA 5Y Stock Price

Seeking Alpha

As a result, it is evident that NVDA investors had benefited from its stellar growth, given that the stock had risen by 580% in the past two years, before the drastic moderation that occurred in late 2021.

NVDA 5Y EV/Revenue and P/E Valuations

S&P Capital IQ

However, we believe that the market correction is expected, given that NVDA was trading at ridiculous valuations at its peak, with EV/NTM Revenue of 28x and NTM P/E of 72.98x. That is way higher than Intel's (INTC) valuation of EV/NTM Revenue of 4.19x and NTM P/E of 15.47x in the past three years, and even AMD (AMD) at 10.59x and 65.39x, respectively. In hindsight, it is evident that NVDA has been highly (maybe over) valued, given its exposure to multiple market segments, such as AI technology, autonomous EVs, cloud computing servers, cryptocurrency, and metaverse, amongst others.

Nonetheless, we may also see a short-term impact, given Meta's (FB) slowing investments in the Reality Labs ( metaverse),reduced demand for GPUs from the crypto mining, and impacted auto production outputs from China's Zero Covid Policy. As a result, given the uncertainties, we expect the pain to continue for a while longer as the market consolidates in the next few quarters.

In the meantime, we encourage you to read our previous article on NVDA, which would help you better understand its market opportunities in the AI technology, automotive, and data center industries.

NVDA Is Still Investing In Growth, Though We See Short-Term Impacts

NVDA Cash/ Equivalents, FCF, and FCF Margins

S&P Capital IQ

Nonetheless, NVDA has been an excellent Free Cash Flow (FCF) generator, while reporting its record-breaking FCF of $8.13B and FCF margins of 30.2% in FY2022. The company also ended the year with a decent $1.99B of cash and equivalents, which will prove helpful for its expanding R&D expenses at an average of 21.5% to its annual revenues in the past five years.

NVDA R&D Expenses and % to Revenue

S&P Capital IQ

Assuming that NVDA continues its reinvestments, we may expect the company to spend up to $7.4B in R&D expenses for FY2023. As an investor myself, I believe that high-growth tech companies, such as NVDA, should build up their future capabilities and product innovations, to keep their advantage in the highly competitive semiconductor industry moving forward. Nonetheless, the risks are also inherent that many companies may slow down their Capex investments in the next few quarters, given the impending recession and rising interest rates. Consequently, NVDA may also reduce its R&D expenses for the short term, given the potential deceleration in revenue growth.

NVDA Projected Revenue and Net Income

S&P Capital IQ

Over the next three years, NVDA is expected to report impressive revenue and net income growth at a CAGR of 18.99% and 27.19%, respectively. For FY2023, consensus estimates that the company will report revenues of $34.77B and a net income of $14.39B, representing remarkable YoY growth of 29.2% and 47.5%, respectively.

Investors will be looking closely at NVDA's FQ1'23 performance, in which it had guided for revenues of $8.1B and gross margins of 65.2%. Assuming that the company successfully smashed its own and consensus estimates of $8.09B, we can be sure of a short-term recovery. However, it is also important to note that NVDA is expected to record a one-time write-off worth $1.36B for the quarter, due to the collapse of the ARM acquisition. In addition, given the quarter's exposure to the prolonged lockdowns in China, NVDA's revenue may also be impacted negatively. As a result, we expect a mixed FQ1'23 performance, potentially leading to a further decline in its stock performance. We shall see.

So, Is NVDA Stock A Buy, Sell, Or Hold?

NVDA is currently trading at an EV/NTM Revenue of 11.93x, and NTM P/E of 30x, lower than its 5Y mean of 13.34x and 39.91x, respectively. The stock is also trading at $171.24 on 19 May 2022, down 50% from 52 weeks high of $346.47. Given the recent market pessimism, there is a likelihood that the stock may retrace further below its 52 weeks low of $135.43 in the next few days, before recovering upon a positive catalyst, namely its FQ1'23 earnings call on 25 May 2022.

Even then, the NVDA stock could potentially remain stagnant post-earnings, similar to its peer, AMD. The latter had reported stellar FQ1'22 earnings, while also raising its FY2022 guidance. In response, the stock rose by 9% from $91.13 to $99.42 on 3 May 2022, before drifting sideways for the next two weeks to reach $96.67 on 19 May 2022. We can be sure that if such an upbeat earnings call had occurred during the heights of the pandemic, AMD would have seen a more pronounced growth in valuation and stock price, similar to the 25% growth after FQ3'21 earnings and 15% growth after FQ2'21 earnings. As a result, interested tech investors must be aware that we are in the midst of maximum pain, significantly worsened by the cryptocurrency winter, the ongoing Ukraine war, and China's Zero Covid Policy.

Given the uncertainties and reasons listed above, we may expect softer FQ2'23 guidance from NVDA's management as well. Why Did NVDA Fall From Grace?NVDA Revenue, Net Income, and Gross MarginS&P Capital IQPre-pandemic, NVDA had grown its revenue and net income at a steady CAGR of 16.44% and 18.9%. The company also steadily improved its gross margins from 58.8% in FY2017 to 64.9% in FY2022.NVDA 5Y Stock PriceSeeking AlphaAs a result, it is evident that NVDA investors had benefited from its stellar growth, given that the stock had risen by 580% in the past two years, before the drastic moderation that occurred in late 2021.NVDA 5Y EV/Revenue and P/E ValuationsS&P Capital IQHowever, we believe that the market correction is expected, given that NVDA was trading at ridiculous valuations at its peak, with EV/NTM Revenue of 28x and NTM P/E of 72.98x. That is way higher than Intel's (INTC) valuation of EV/NTM Revenue of 4.19x and NTM P/E of 15.47x in the past three years, and even AMD (AMD) at 10.59x and 65.39x, respectively. In hindsight, it is evident that NVDA has been highly (maybe over) valued, given its exposure to multiple market segments, such as AI technology, autonomous EVs, cloud computing servers, cryptocurrency, and metaverse, amongst others.Nonetheless, we may also see a short-term impact, given Meta's (FB) slowing investments in the Reality Labs ( metaverse),reduced demand for GPUs from the crypto mining, and impacted auto production outputs from China's Zero Covid Policy. As a result, given the uncertainties, we expect the pain to continue for a while longer as the market consolidates in the next few quarters. In the meantime, we encourage you to read our previous article on NVDA, which would help you better understand its market opportunities in the AI technology, automotive, and data center industries.NVDA Is Still Investing In Growth, Though We See Short-Term ImpactsNVDA Cash/ Equivalents, FCF, and FCF MarginsS&P Capital IQNonetheless, NVDA has been an excellent Free Cash Flow (FCF) generator, while reporting its record-breaking FCF of $8.13B and FCF margins of 30.2% in FY2022. The company also ended the year with a decent $1.99B of cash and equivalents, which will prove helpful for its expanding R&D expenses at an average of 21.5% to its annual revenues in the past five years.NVDA R&D Expenses and % to RevenueS&P Capital IQAssuming that NVDA continues its reinvestments, we may expect the company to spend up to $7.4B in R&D expenses for FY2023. Consequently, NVDA may also reduce its R&D expenses for the short term, given the potential deceleration in revenue growth.NVDA Projected Revenue and Net IncomeS&P Capital IQOver the next three years, NVDA is expected to report impressive revenue and net income growth at a CAGR of 18.99% and 27.19%, respectively. For FY2023, consensus estimates that the company will report revenues of $34.77B and a net income of $14.39B, representing remarkable YoY growth of 29.2% and 47.5%, respectively.Investors will be looking closely at NVDA's FQ1'23 performance, in which it had guided for revenues of $8.1B and gross margins of 65.2%. We shall see.So, Is NVDA Stock A Buy, Sell, Or Hold?NVDA is currently trading at an EV/NTM Revenue of 11.93x, and NTM P/E of 30x, lower than its 5Y mean of 13.34x and 39.91x, respectively. The stock is also trading at $171.24 on 19 May 2022, down 50% from 52 weeks high of $346.47. Given the recent market pessimism, there is a likelihood that the stock may retrace further below its 52 weeks low of $135.43 in the next few days, before recovering upon a positive catalyst, namely its FQ1'23 earnings call on 25 May 2022.Even then, the NVDA stock could potentially remain stagnant post-earnings, similar to its peer, AMD. As a result, interested tech investors must be aware that we are in the midst of maximum pain, significantly worsened by the cryptocurrency winter, the ongoing Ukraine war, and China's Zero Covid Policy.Given the uncertainties and reasons listed above, we may expect softer FQ2'23 guidance from NVDA's management as well. Though the stock may seem an attractive buy at its current \"undervaluation,\" given its growth potential and promising pipeline, we would encourage prudence for now. We expect a more attractive entry point moving forward, after more clarity from its FQ1'23 earnings call. Patient investors will be awarded. Therefore, we rate NVDA stock as a Hold for now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":271,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9028869223,"gmtCreate":1653195331562,"gmtModify":1676535238838,"author":{"id":"4106551597750560","authorId":"4106551597750560","authorIdStr":"4106551597750560","name":"Will.I.AM","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/0efcc50f0133a5d02433a90d6297022e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106551597750560"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy with caution ⛔️ ","listText":"Buy with caution ⛔️ ","text":"Buy with caution ⛔️","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9028869223","repostId":"2237880958","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2237880958","pubTimestamp":1653179341,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2237880958?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-22 08:29","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Buy the Dip Or Sell the \"Rip\"?: What's Ahead for Stock Investors As \"Sticky\" Inflation Fears Heighten Consumer Concern","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2237880958","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"Stock-market bottoms tend to form after a 'panic selloff,' says Tastytrade's chief market strategist","content":"

Stock-market bottoms tend to form after a 'panic selloff,' says Tastytrade's chief market strategist

The stock market has been rocky amid rising recession risks and high inflation.

Investors, already grappling with a sinking stock market and fears that the U.S. economy may be heading for a recession, now turn their focus to the consumer. Still, the S&P 500 and other major benchmarks suffered another week of losses, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average booking an eighth straight weekly decline for its longest losing streak since April 1932.In a May 18 note, Wells Fargo Investment Institute said it was adjusting its equities guidance and price targets for a \"likely\" recession, upgrading the utilities sector to \"neutral\" from \"most unfavorable.\" Utilities are considered defensive, unlike the consumer-discretionary sector, which Wells Fargo downgraded to \"unfavorable\" from \"neutral,\" according to the note.Consumer discretionary was the worst performing sector of the S&P 500 index Friday, closing lower and booking a seventh straight week of declines for its longest losing streak since July 1996, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Here are Wells Fargo's equity sector preferences, as seen in its May 18 report.WELLS FARGO INVESTMENT INSTITUTE'Sticky' inflation\"Inflation is hitting purchasing power,\" said Christopher. \"It's so sticky,\" he said, \"that it's going to be with us for a while, even after the Fed raises rates.\"Profit misses in earnings results reported by Walmart Inc. and Target Corp. this past week sparked investor concern that high inflation is crimping consumer spending, while eating into companies' profit margins. Shares of Walmart plunged more than 19% in the past week and Target plummeted around 29%.\"Unfortunately, gasoline prices bounced back up to another record high in May and with inflation rampant across most categories, people are spending more money on fewer items,\" said Beth Ann Bovino, U.S. chief economist for S&P Global Ratings, in emailed comments on May 17.When S&P adjusted U.S. retail sales in April for inflation, \"a frightening split has appeared over the last year, and has only gotten wider through April,\" said Bovino.S&P GLOBAL\"Purchasing power has been squeezed, particularly for low-income households,\" she said. \"While savings stored up during the pandemic has given households a cushion to absorb these higher prices, eventually these buffers run thin.\"Although the labor market remains strong, new U.S. jobless claims during the week ending May 14 climbed to a four-month high. Christopher said that Wells Fargo Investment Institute believes \"a mild recession\" may begin late this year. They're not alone.\"We continue to expect that the financial conditions tightening triggered by Fed policy will likely lead to a recession by end 2023,\" wrote Deutsche Bank analysts led by chief U.S. economist Matthew Luzzetti, in a research note dated May 20. \"Over the past several weeks, U.S. financial conditions have tightened sharply.\"WELLS FARGO INVESTMENT INSTITUTEThis coming week, investors will get fresh economic data on inflation, consumer spending and disposable income. The U.S. economic calendar also includes readings on consumer sentiment, U.S. manufacturing and services, initial jobless claims, and minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee's last policy meeting.Jittery investorsWhile investors are jittery, stock-market bottoms tend to form after a \"panic selloff,\" and the recent slump so far has been \"orderly,\" according to Tastytrade's Kinahan. The S&P 500 has dropped about 18% this year through Friday, while the Dow has fallen 14% and the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite has tumbled around 27%, according to FactSet.Through the lens of bullish investors, bear markets entail \"feral, fearful, dystopian price action,\" the BofA investment strategists wrote in their note. \"The tape shows big damage already,\" with \"inflation shock\" largely priced in along with \"rates shock.\"Once \"recession shock\" is discounted, \"lows will be set,\" the strategists wrote, citing a bullish perspective. Both Kinahan and Wells Fargo's Christopher cautioned against trying to time the market, with Kinahan describing any attempt to pick a bottom as a \"fool's errand.\"Christopher said investors might consider putting small amounts of cash to work over time as the market falls to new lows, and buying quality stocks to minimize losses. \"If you're a longer-term investor, you don't want to pull money out of the market,\" he said. With recession risks rising, Wells Fargo Investment Institute has cut its year-end target price range for the S&P 500 to 4,200-4,400 from 4,500-4,700, its report shows. That's above the index's close Friday at 3,901.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":170,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9028194103,"gmtCreate":1653182269002,"gmtModify":1676535235419,"author":{"id":"4106551597750560","authorId":"4106551597750560","authorIdStr":"4106551597750560","name":"Will.I.AM","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/0efcc50f0133a5d02433a90d6297022e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106551597750560"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Beware of any bad investment ","listText":"Beware of any bad investment ","text":"Beware of any bad investment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9028194103","repostId":"2236012808","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2236012808","pubTimestamp":1653089869,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2236012808?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-21 07:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"It's Down Almost 40% Year to Date -- Should Investors Buy Tesla Stock?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2236012808","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"As the broader market continues to fall, some investors may view the EV leader's stock slump as a buying opportunity. If $1,000 is that mark for you, these two Warren Buffett-backed stocks could provide the foundation you want for your long-term investment strategy.

AbbVie ( ABBV 0.66% ) and Verizon Communications ( VZ 0.55% ) offer innovative products in growing markets, combined with a strategy that withstands market volatility, to reward investors with long-term gains. They also carry a special characteristic that is shared by 63% of the stocks owned by Buffett in his Berkshire Hathaway ( BRK.A 1.92% ) ( BRK.B 1.81% ) portfolio.

AbbVie: Building a pipeline to keep revenue flowing

AbbVie is one of the smallest holdings in Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway portfolio, at only 0.1% of the portfolio's total holdings. But that's the only thing small about this leading innovator in biopharmaceuticals that has seen its stock price grow 53% over the past year -- crushing the S&P 500's 14.7% one-year return.

AbbVie has experienced strong growth of its best-selling drug, Humira, which helped the company realize a 22.7% increase in net revenue in 2021. That growth is expected to continue with an 8% increase in sales for Humira during 2022, but could come to a screeching slowdown in 2023. The company estimates a 45% erosion in sales as a result of biosimilar competition entering the U.S. market on the heels of an expiring patent, with a rebound not expected to happen until 2024.

To offset those losses, the company is depending on a spike in sales of two potential successors to Humira, Rinvoq and Skyrizi. Together these two medications brought in a combined $4.5 billion in 2021 and are expected to reach $15 billion in 2025. AbbVie is also seeing positive results from its Allergan acquisition in 2020, which netted the company Botox, contributing nearly $5 billion to total sales in 2021.

Going forward, the company has high expectations for a post-COVID rebound in sales of two leading cancer treatment drugs, as well as a pipeline of late-stage programs in cancer treatment. In total, the company has 13 drugs in phase 3 trials across immunology, neuroscience, eye care, oncology, and gastroenterology. Some of these drugs are already approved for certain indications, which could lead to a smoother path toward approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

AbbVie also offers a quarterly dividend that can help keep investors engaged during times of trouble. If you include the time before AbbVie was spun off from Abbott Laboratories, the company has been increasing its annual dividend for 50 years, placing it among the elite class of Dividend Kings. At the current share price, the stock's annual payout of $5.64 per share results in yield of 3.5%. Over the long term, this can be quite a hefty sum due to compounding gains.

A robust pipeline of drugs combined with a hefty dividend yield of 3.5% that leads most of its big-cap pharma peers makes AbbVie a Buffett-backed stock I'd see no problem investing $1,000 in.

Verizon: Checking off boxes to keep investors satisfied

Verizon ranks ninth in Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway portfolio of 47 stocks in terms of portfolio holding and total value. But the company's investors have not been exempt from the broader market volatility that has impacted tech stocks, as Verizon's stock price has seen a 15% decline since May of last year.

Fortunately, CEO Hans Vestberg, who came on board in 2018 after a stint as chief technology officer, has a clear plan in place that could trigger a rebound. It includes reducing the company's capital intensity to under 12%, growing dividends, paying down debt, and speeding up a timeline for share repurchases.

Boxes are already being checked off for that plan. Verizon's Q4 report highlighted a 6.5% year-over-year growth in wireless services revenue, driven by higher revenue per account, meaning existing customers are spending more. Growth is also coming from an increase in subscriptions for wireless and broadband. FiOS (its bundled service for internet, cable, and telephone) finished Q4 of last year with a 5.7% year-over-year spike in revenue, allowing the company to post its best full-year performance for FiOS since 2014.

The company expects to check off a few more boxes during 2022, starting with a continued quarterly dividend payout of $0.64 per share, to be paid on May 2 to investors of record on April 8. This represents a 5% dividend yield, topping the telecom sector average of 4.36%.

By year-end, the company is looking to complete an accelerated plan to bring 5G ultra wideband service to an additional 30 major markets serving over 175 million people -- a full year ahead of schedule. And while doing so, Vestberg has his eyes on reducing capital expenditures 9% to $16.5 billion.

If 2022 goes according to plan, the company is projecting full-year earnings per share that just slightly tops Wall Street estimates. Management is also looking for 9% to 10% growth in services revenue. If $1,000 is that mark for you, these two Warren Buffett-backed stocks could provide the foundation you want for your long-term investment strategy.AbbVie ( ABBV 0.66% ) and Verizon Communications ( VZ 0.55% ) offer innovative products in growing markets, combined with a strategy that withstands market volatility, to reward investors with long-term gains. They also carry a special characteristic that is shared by 63% of the stocks owned by Buffett in his Berkshire Hathaway ( BRK.A 1.92% ) ( BRK.B 1.81% ) portfolio.Image source: Getty Images.AbbVie: Building a pipeline to keep revenue flowingAbbVie is one of the smallest holdings in Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway portfolio, at only 0.1% of the portfolio's total holdings. But that's the only thing small about this leading innovator in biopharmaceuticals that has seen its stock price grow 53% over the past year -- crushing the S&P 500's 14.7% one-year return.AbbVie has experienced strong growth of its best-selling drug, Humira, which helped the company realize a 22.7% increase in net revenue in 2021. That growth is expected to continue with an 8% increase in sales for Humira during 2022, but could come to a screeching slowdown in 2023. The company estimates a 45% erosion in sales as a result of biosimilar competition entering the U.S. market on the heels of an expiring patent, with a rebound not expected to happen until 2024.To offset those losses, the company is depending on a spike in sales of two potential successors to Humira, Rinvoq and Skyrizi. Together these two medications brought in a combined $4.5 billion in 2021 and are expected to reach $15 billion in 2025. AbbVie is also seeing positive results from its Allergan acquisition in 2020, which netted the company Botox, contributing nearly $5 billion to total sales in 2021.Going forward, the company has high expectations for a post-COVID rebound in sales of two leading cancer treatment drugs, as well as a pipeline of late-stage programs in cancer treatment. In total, the company has 13 drugs in phase 3 trials across immunology, neuroscience, eye care, oncology, and gastroenterology. Some of these drugs are already approved for certain indications, which could lead to a smoother path toward approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.AbbVie also offers a quarterly dividend that can help keep investors engaged during times of trouble. If you include the time before AbbVie was spun off from Abbott Laboratories, the company has been increasing its annual dividend for 50 years, placing it among the elite class of Dividend Kings. At the current share price, the stock's annual payout of $5.64 per share results in yield of 3.5%. Over the long term, this can be quite a hefty sum due to compounding gains.A robust pipeline of drugs combined with a hefty dividend yield of 3.5% that leads most of its big-cap pharma peers makes AbbVie a Buffett-backed stock I'd see no problem investing $1,000 in.Verizon: Checking off boxes to keep investors satisfiedVerizon ranks ninth in Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway portfolio of 47 stocks in terms of portfolio holding and total value. But the company's investors have not been exempt from the broader market volatility that has impacted tech stocks, as Verizon's stock price has seen a 15% decline since May of last year.Fortunately, CEO Hans Vestberg, who came on board in 2018 after a stint as chief technology officer, has a clear plan in place that could trigger a rebound. It includes reducing the company's capital intensity to under 12%, growing dividends, paying down debt, and speeding up a timeline for share repurchases.Boxes are already being checked off for that plan. Verizon's Q4 report highlighted a 6.5% year-over-year growth in wireless services revenue, driven by higher revenue per account, meaning existing customers are spending more. Growth is also coming from an increase in subscriptions for wireless and broadband. FiOS (its bundled service for internet, cable, and telephone) finished Q4 of last year with a 5.7% year-over-year spike in revenue, allowing the company to post its best full-year performance for FiOS since 2014.The company expects to check off a few more boxes during 2022, starting with a continued quarterly dividend payout of $0.64 per share, to be paid on May 2 to investors of record on April 8. This represents a 5% dividend yield, topping the telecom sector average of 4.36%.By year-end, the company is looking to complete an accelerated plan to bring 5G ultra wideband service to an additional 30 major markets serving over 175 million people -- a full year ahead of schedule. Ultimately, Verizon's technological advancements should lead to new revenue, supported by acquisitions in the telecom space and collaborations with companies such as Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) as the two work toward building out the immersive digital world referred to as the metaverse.Verizon investors should stand to gain from continued dividends and a wireless market that is projected to grow at a 15.4% compound annual rate through 2027. The company's shares currently trade at a P/E ratio of 9.6, far below the wireless telecom industry average of 30. All in all, Verizon is an excellent opportunity for long-term investors who are looking for somewhere to invest $1,000.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":60,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9037481176,"gmtCreate":1648166187125,"gmtModify":1676534311513,"author":{"id":"4106551597750560","authorId":"4106551597750560","authorIdStr":"4106551597750560","name":"Will.I.AM","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/0efcc50f0133a5d02433a90d6297022e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106551597750560"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice 👍🏻 ","listText":"Nice 👍🏻 ","text":"Nice 👍🏻","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9037481176","repostId":"2222003422","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":101,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9098967171,"gmtCreate":1644012470958,"gmtModify":1676533880591,"author":{"id":"4106551597750560","authorId":"4106551597750560","authorIdStr":"4106551597750560","name":"Will.I.AM","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/0efcc50f0133a5d02433a90d6297022e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106551597750560"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Intel(INTC)$IOULove this company and hope it will raise soon [USD] ","listText":"$Intel(INTC)$IOULove this company and hope it will raise soon [USD] ","text":"$Intel(INTC)$IOULove this company and hope it will raise soon [USD]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9098967171","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":387,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9094469558,"gmtCreate":1645223471469,"gmtModify":1676534009408,"author":{"id":"4106551597750560","authorId":"4106551597750560","authorIdStr":"4106551597750560","name":"Will.I.AM","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/0efcc50f0133a5d02433a90d6297022e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106551597750560"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Intel(INTC)$Guess this stock needs to hold for for a while.. This chip maker has seen its value increase more than 10-fold over the past five years alone. At least it did, before the recent precipitous drop of more than 30% from its peak.At Nvidia’s peak, the company was valued at nearly $900 billion, and was inching toward the $1-trillion valuation mark. This valuation has been reserved for only the highest-growth mega-cap stocks in the world.Unfortunately, a series of macro headwinds have taken the wind out of the proverbial sails of growth stocks. The past few months have been rough, with investors pricing in higher interest rates and an inflation-driven future into stock prices. Can Nvidia once again return to its former capital appreciation glory? I think so, at least over the medium term. I remain bullish on NVDA stock, and here’s why.Nvidia’s Outlook Remains StrongFrom a fundamentals standpoint, there’s a lot to like about how Nvidia is valued, particularly after its 30% drop from its peak. This company currently trades at a forward price-earnings multiple of 43.Additionally, the company’s forward growth estimates still come in at around 34%. That means that this stock is just a hair above a price-earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio of 3.2. For stocks like Nvidia, that’s cheap. There are some reasons why investors may consider this valuation a very decent one right now. It’s not necessarily a view based on the company’s historical performance, which has been excellent. Rather, it’s what Nvidia has on its plate in terms of future growth prospects. Many long-term investors in Nvidia see growth coming from three main markets. There’s the company’s base semiconductor market, which is expected to grow at a reasonable pace of around 9% per year. Then there’s the gaming market and AI market, of which Nvidia is providing an increasing number of chips. These market segments are much faster-growing, with double-digit expected compound annual growth rates (CAGR) over the medium term.In addition to these sectors, Nvidia’s chips power much of the crypto mining sector. Like it or not, this remains a hot sector, and one which is seeing a lot of investment. Over time, Nvidia’s ability to capture high-end market share in computing is likely to create a moat that will be hard for other companies to penetrate.Relative to its peers, there’s a lot to like about how Nvidia is positioned in terms of future growth. Relative to the company’s valuation, NVDA stock provides an attractive growth profile and an easy-to-understand investment thesis right now.Solid Fourth Quarter EarningsOkay, so that’s looking forward. Let’s look back on the company’s recent earnings.Nvidia’s fourth-quarter earnings were, in a word, strong. The company reported earnings per share of $1.32, beating out consensus estimates of $1.08 per share. Further, the company’s revenue of $7.64 billion came in much higher than expected, representing year-over-year growth of 69% and 53%, respectively.Any company that’s able to grow both its top and bottom line by these margins ought to be considered. What’s more, Nvidia managed to grow its bottom line faster than its revenue. This implies margin expansion, something long-term bulls must like. Finally, there’s the forward-looking projections that should be considered. The market is pricing in a forward growth rate of only 34%. ConsideringNvidia essentially doubled this growth rate, at least on its bottom line, there’s a lot to like about the potential for stock price upgrades following future earnings calls. That is, should the company be able to repeat these results moving forward.Wall Street’s TakeAs per TipRanks’ analyst rating consensus, NVDA is a Strong Buy. Out of 22 analyst ratings, there are 19 Buy recommendations and three Hold recommendations. The average Nvidia price target $362.22. Analyst price targets range from a high of $400 per share to a low of $250 per share.Bottom LineWhether or not Nvidia will hit a $1-trillion valuation this year remains to be seen. Macro headwinds remain strong right now, and this argument is one that’s certainly on the fringes of what most investors expect. However, over a medium-term time frame (say, two to five years), such an outlook is possible, if not probable. Should Nvidia continue to grow as it has been, and beat future growth expectations, this is a stock that certainly has the ability to run to a $1-trillion valuation. For context, Nvidia stock currently sits at a valuation of around $600 billion at the time of writing.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":8,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9092391287,"gmtCreate":1644535404505,"gmtModify":1676533937299,"author":{"id":"4106551597750560","authorId":"4106551597750560","authorIdStr":"4106551597750560","name":"Will.I.AM","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/0efcc50f0133a5d02433a90d6297022e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4106551597750560"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Stay Invest or Hold the cash?
