China-based EV maker falling short of expectations.

Although the company reported solid deliveries growth for October, this growth is not as impressive when compared to that of peers.

Disappointment with Nio’s results is likely to continue, which in turn could keep NIO stock moving in a downward trajectory.

Nio (NYSE: NIO) has performed poorly over the past few months. Although shares in the China-based EV maker have found support in recent trading days, I wouldn’t assume that the dust has settled with NIO stock.

Yes, per the latest headlines, it may seem as if the situation will improve from here for Nio. The company just released monthly delivery numbers, and on the surface deliveries came in strongly. Take a closer look at the numbers, however, and it’s clear that these results are lackluster when compared to that of peers, and to past expectations.

That’s not all. Little suggests that the company will soon catch up to peers in terms of growth, investors are likely to remain disappointed with Nio’s performance. This, of course, bodes badly for shares.

With this in mind, read on, as I break down why the bear case still stands with this stock.

NIO Stock and Relatively Underwhelming Delivery Numbers

On Nov. 1, Nio reported 16,074 vehicle deliveries during October, representing a 59.8% increase in deliveries year-over-year. Impressive, right? Well, not quite. Even as deliveries climbed by a high double-digit amount last month, on a sequential (month-over-month) basis, growth was far less stellar.

As Nio’s September 2023 delivery numbers totaled 15,641 vehicles, October’s deliveries represented a sequential growth of only around 2.77%. The company figures aren’t impressive when compared to delivery numbers reported by China-based peers like Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) and Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV).

Li’s October deliveries came in at 40,422 vehicles, a 302.1% year-over-year increase, and a 12.1% increase sequentially (based on 36,060 vehicles delivered in September). Xpeng’s deliveries came in at 20,000 for the month, up 292% on a year-over-year basis, and up 31% on a sequential basis.

While NIO stock did rise following this news, said rise was modest (2.05%) relative to LI (up 3.49%) and XPEV (up 7.04%). Also, the broad market rally on Nov. 1 may have played a larger role in NIO’s rally than on the deliveries news.

What This Deliveries Slump Means for Sentiment Going Forward

Taking a look at Nio’s delivery figures from July through October, there’s a clear takeaway. The end of China’s “zero Covid” restrictions, plus the launch of new vehicle models, enabled Nio to “level up” its monthly delivery volumes, which for an extended period were stuck at around 10,000 vehicles.

But while July’s delivery figure (over 20,462) may have suggested Nio was en route to hitting past aggressive sales targets set by management, sales volumes have fallen back in the ensuing months. Now, it appears that Nio can sustain monthly sales of around 15,000 vehicles, or 180,000 vehicles per year.

The issue? While selling 180,000 premium EVs annually isn’t necessarily anything to sneeze at, barring another round of “leveling up” during November and December, negative sentiment is likely to persist for NIO stock, resulting in further losses for investors. The reasons for this are twofold.

First, this recent leveling off calls into question whether revenue growth in the coming year will meet expectations. Sell-side consensus currently calls for sales to hit $13.23 billion next, a 56.75% increase. Second, this growth slump calls for yet another walking back of Nio’s timeline to profitability.

Bottom Line: Expect This Stock to Stay Under Pressure

Nio has already given back all of its gains accrued during the “EV bubble” era of 2020-2021, but don’t assume that means the stock is finding a floor, after falling back towards pre-bubble prices.

Even before the bubble, Nio was given a rich valuation relative to its then-current performance, on the expectation that it was going to become China’s answer to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), a world-class EV brand with a global reach.

Yet now, it’s clear the company is likely to be an “also ran” brand in its home market. Over in Europe, its first area of international expansion, Nio is scrambling to boost sales, further signaling this isn’t a “Tesla killer” in the making.

Barring the unveiling of positive surprises in Nio’s upcoming earnings release (scheduled for Nov. 9), or with its November and December vehicle delivery numbers, expect NIO stock to stay under pressure.

","source":"investorplace_stock_picks","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Warning: Nothing Is Stopping NIO Stock From Crashing Now
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWarning: Nothing Is Stopping NIO Stock From Crashing Now\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2023-11-06 10:04 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Nio (NIO) shares have been hammered in recent months, because of the China-based EV maker falling short of expectations.Although the company reported solid deliveries growth for October, this growth ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"NIO":"蔚来","NIO.SI":"蔚来","09866":"蔚来-SW"},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2023/11/warning-nothing-is-stopping-nio-stock-from-crashing-now/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2380018672","content_text":"Nio (NIO) shares have been hammered in recent months, because of the China-based EV maker falling short of expectations.Although the company reported solid deliveries growth for October, this growth is not as impressive when compared to that of peers.Disappointment with Nio’s results is likely to continue, which in turn could keep NIO stock moving in a downward trajectory.Nio (NYSE: NIO) has performed poorly over the past few months. The reasons for this are twofold.First, this recent leveling off calls into question whether revenue growth in the coming year will meet expectations. Sell-side consensus currently calls for sales to hit $13.23 billion next, a 56.75% increase. Second, this growth slump calls for yet another walking back of Nio’s timeline to profitability.Bottom Line: Expect This Stock to Stay Under PressureNio has already given back all of its gains accrued during the “EV bubble” era of 2020-2021, but don’t assume that means the stock is finding a floor, after falling back towards pre-bubble prices.Even before the bubble, Nio was given a rich valuation relative to its then-current performance, on the expectation that it was going to become China’s answer to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), a world-class EV brand with a global reach.Yet now, it’s clear the company is likely to be an “also ran” brand in its home market. Over in Europe, its first area of international expansion, Nio is scrambling to boost sales, further signaling this isn’t a “Tesla killer” in the making.Barring the unveiling of positive surprises in Nio’s upcoming earnings release (scheduled for Nov. 9), or with its November and December vehicle delivery numbers, expect NIO stock to stay under pressure.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":486,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":218619942092912,"gmtCreate":1694408806506,"gmtModify":1694408809930,"author":{"id":"4112962014199552","authorId":"4112962014199552","name":"MGoh","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/645c25604c65dfba6ce6867713fb782f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4112962014199552","authorIdStr":"4112962014199552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO.SI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v> 👍","listText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO.SI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v> 👍","text":"$NIO Inc.(NIO.SI)$ 👍","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/218619942092912","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":536,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":208714178146352,"gmtCreate":1691979431734,"gmtModify":1691979434650,"author":{"id":"4112962014199552","authorId":"4112962014199552","name":"MGoh","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/645c25604c65dfba6ce6867713fb782f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4112962014199552","authorIdStr":"4112962014199552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO.SI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>Best time to buy","listText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO.SI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>Best time to buy","text":"$NIO Inc.(NIO.SI)$ Best time to buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/208714178146352","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":341,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":206570842718336,"gmtCreate":1691464051594,"gmtModify":1691464055772,"author":{"id":"4112962014199552","authorId":"4112962014199552","name":"MGoh","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/645c25604c65dfba6ce6867713fb782f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4112962014199552","authorIdStr":"4112962014199552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nio likely to work with Mercedes?","listText":"Nio likely to work with Mercedes?","text":"Nio likely to work with Mercedes?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/206570842718336","repostId":"2357409509","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2357409509","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1691379916,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2357409509?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-08-07 11:45","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO Likely to Sustain Order Momentum Into September","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2357409509","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"NIO is likely to sustain its strong order momentum into September thanks in part o the upcoming launch of new EC6 model this month, Citi analysts say in a research note. Here's why.","content":"

Source: xiaorui / Shutterstock.com

Nio (NYSE:NIO), a prominent player in the electric vehicle industry, has been a rollercoaster of a stock. The company’s shares have seen a considerable drop since their 2021 peak. Is now the time to start betting on a reversal in trend?

First, let’s talk company dynamics. NIO stock has been affected by China’s slow economic growth. In addition, the company’s gross margin, at a meager 1.5%, raises concerns about its ability to maintain profitability in a high capex industry like automobiles, especially when industry leaders like Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) are pushing margins down.

However, the company’s shares have started to recover, gaining over 35% since the end of May 2023. This sudden increase can be attributed to Nio’s strategic decision to slash its vehicle prices, following the trend set by Tesla and other EV manufacturers. General optimism around equities that we saw in June into July also has helped.

Nio’s Deliveries: A Mixed Bag

Nio’s deliveries have faced a year-over-year decline in both June and Q2 of 2023, which is a significant factor behind reduced investor interest. In June 2023, it delivered only 10,707 vehicles compared to 12,961 in June 2022, marking a 17.4% YOY decrease. The Q2 deliveries also declined 6.1% YOY, with 23,520 vehicles delivered.

However, it’s worth noting that despite multiple setbacks due to Covid-19 lockdowns, Nio managed to deliver a record number of vehicles in Q4 2022, marking a 51% YOY increase. The company’s annual deliveries in 2022 also saw a 34% rise over 2021, indicating a strong recovery potential.

Nio’s Financial Health: A Cause for Concern

Despite its growth prospects, Nio’s financial health raises some red flags. The company’s Q1 2023 gross margin fell to just 1.5% from 14.6% in the same quarter of 2022. With Nio and other premium EV manufacturers already offering generous price discounts, this price war could pressure Nio’s profitability further.

Adding to the worry is NIO’s Q1 2023 net loss of $690 million, which has significantly reduced its cash reserves. Nonetheless, a strategic $1.1 billion investment from an Abu Dhabi government fund in June 2023 aimed at funding its international growth has provided a much-needed boost to its financial resources.

Nio’s Future Prospects: A Ray of Hope

Despite the challenges, NIO’s prospects look promising. Its focus on innovative technologies such as battery swapping, autonomous driving, and an AI-driven digital cockpit could attract new buyers. This in turn will fuel its revenue growth.

Moreover, Nio’s expansion into several European countries and its introduction of new EV models are expected to drive increased sales in 2023-2024. The company’s shares have seen a considerable drop since their 2021 peak. Is now the time to start betting on a reversal in trend?First, let’s talk company dynamics. General optimism around equities that we saw in June into July also has helped.Nio’s Deliveries: A Mixed BagNio’s deliveries have faced a year-over-year decline in both June and Q2 of 2023, which is a significant factor behind reduced investor interest. The company’s annual deliveries in 2022 also saw a 34% rise over 2021, indicating a strong recovery potential.Nio’s Financial Health: A Cause for ConcernDespite its growth prospects, Nio’s financial health raises some red flags. The company’s Q1 2023 gross margin fell to just 1.5% from 14.6% in the same quarter of 2022. With Nio and other premium EV manufacturers already offering generous price discounts, this price war could pressure Nio’s profitability further.Adding to the worry is NIO’s Q1 2023 net loss of $690 million, which has significantly reduced its cash reserves. Nonetheless, a strategic $1.1 billion investment from an Abu Dhabi government fund in June 2023 aimed at funding its international growth has provided a much-needed boost to its financial resources.Nio’s Future Prospects: A Ray of HopeDespite the challenges, NIO’s prospects look promising. The company also plans to have five new models by mid-2023, as it aims to capture a larger share of China’s EV market.NIO Stock: To Buy or Not to Buy?While Nio’s growth and opportunities make it an attractive investment prospect, it’s not quite a “buy” situation yet. The company’s price-to-sales multiple stands at an attractive 2.4x, the lowest since 2019, but the company’s lack of profitability and the risks posed by the ongoing price war in the EV industry make it a high-risk investment.A lot remains to be seen with NIO stock, and the broad market environment looks challenged to me. The person responds, "About half of them."

This punchline comes to mind when I look at the S&P 500. Many of the stocks in the index don't perform all that well over time. But as the more-successful stocks outperform, they earn an increased weighting in the S&P 500 because of their larger market caps.

Which stocks in the S&P 500 will work the most for investors throughout this decade? It's impossible to know for sure. However, I'll make a prediction: The following three S&P 500 stocks will at least double in seven years.

1. Amazon

The larger a company grows, the harder it can be to deliver the same rate of expansion. But that doesn't mean really big companies can't grow significantly. I think Amazon has proved this point in the past and will continue to do so.

When asked about Amazon, the first thoughts of many individuals would probably be about the company's online shopping platform or its Prime Video streaming service. My view is that both could be solid growth drivers over the coming years. But they won't be the most important factors in enabling the stock to double.

Instead, that honor belongs to Amazon Web Services (AWS). As much as 95% of worldwide IT spending goes toward on-premises hosting rather than in the cloud. CEO Andy Jassy expects "the equation is going to shift and flip" over the next 10 to 15 years with a lot more spending on cloud hosting versus on-premises hosting. If he's right (and I think he is), Amazon is a no-brainer stock to buy right now.

AWS already ranks as the biggest cloud-hosting provider. It's also Amazon's most profitable segment. The company's profits should explode by the end of the decade with the transition to the cloud. My confidence level is pretty high that Amazon's share price will at least double within seven years or less.

2. A long list of major cloud providers, software specialists, social media companies, and telecommunications giants use Digital Realty Trust's data centers.

If you only look at Digital Realty's stock performance over the last 10 years, you might doubt that it could double by 2030. But it's important to consider total returns rather than share-price appreciation alone.

Digital Realty Trust is a real estate investment trust (REIT) and must return at least 90% of its income to shareholders to avoid paying federal taxes. Its dividend yield tops 4.8%. With that high yield, the stock won't have to deliver huge gains for Digital Realty Trust to generate total returns of 100% or more over the next seven years.

3. Vertex Pharmaceuticals

I think that Vertex Pharmaceuticals is another S&P 500 stock with a clear path to doubling or more by 2030. The company already enjoys a monopoly in treating the underlying cause of cystic fibrosis (CF).

Vertex could increase its market by roughly 50% by securing additional approvals and reimbursement deals for its existing CF drugs and by achieving success with its experimental messenger RNA CF therapy VX-522.

But Vertex has even greater growth opportunities beyond CF. It hopes to win regulatory approvals for exa-cel, a gene-editing therapy developed with CRISPR Therapeutics, as soon as later this year. Exa-cel could generate peak annual sales of at least $2 billion in treating sickle cell disease and transfusion-dependent beta-thalassemia.

Non-opioid pain drug VX-548 could also make it to market within the next couple of years. Vertex believes that this therapy has multibillion-dollar potential.

The big biotech is also making good progress in its clinical testing of inaxaplin in treating APOL1-mediated kidney disease (AMKD). Many of the stocks in the index don't perform all that well over time. But as the more-successful stocks outperform, they earn an increased weighting in the S&P 500 because of their larger market caps.Which stocks in the S&P 500 will work the most for investors throughout this decade? But a growing number of analysts and investors now think the next crypto bull market will result in multiple coins attaining a trillion-dollar valuation.

Just how likely is that scenario? After all, the highest-ever market capitalization of all cryptocurrency combined -- which encompasses thousands of different coins -- was $3 trillion. So, unless the size of the crypto market expands dramatically, the path to a trillion-dollar valuation for any coin is difficult at best. Here's a closer look at three high-growth coins that might get there.

1. Bitcoin

The case for Bitcoin attaining a $1 trillion valuation in the next bull market is more reasonable than it might sound, given that it topped out at $1.28 trillion in the last bull market. At a current market cap of $458 billion, Bitcoin needs to slightly more than double in value to reach the trillion-dollar mark. Given its current price of $23,785, that would imply a future price near $50,000 -- well below Bitcoin's all-time high of $68,789.63.

There are other, more sophisticated ways to think about a trillion-dollar valuation for the token. For example, prominent Bitcoin bull Michael Saylor has focused on the world's physical gold supply.

If you buy into the notion that Bitcoin is "digital gold," then at some point, the value of Bitcoin and the value of the world's physical gold supply should start to converge. Right now, the value of the world's physical gold supply is estimated to be between $10 trillion and $15 trillion, so Bitcoin's maximum possible valuation could also rise to that level.

That logic might sound far-fetched, but Wall Street bank Goldman Sachs has applied a similar reasoning process, arriving at a $100,000 price target for Bitcoin in January 2022.

2. Ethereum

The case for a trillion-dollar valuation is harder to make for Ethereum, which currently has a nearly $200 billion market cap. It would need to increase in value fivefold to hit $1 trillion.

Even at its all-time peak, the digital coin only reached a market cap of $571.67 billion, so there's clearly work to do. Slow, incremental growth is not the path to a trillion-dollar valuation for Ethereum.

One approach to valuing Ethereum is to separately value all of its business lines -- e.g. non-fungible tokens (NFTs), gaming, decentralized finance (DeFi), and the metaverse. You would then need to make a growth projection for each of these business lines.

But are any of Ethereum's core business lines capable of growing at a 5X rate? Take, for example, the NFT market, which was worth $25 billion in both 2021 and 2022. Assuming that Ethereum currently controls close to 75% of the NFT market, that's roughly $20 billion in annual sales. A 5X scaling factor would imply $100 billion in annual NFT sales for Ethereum.

That's possible over a long-enough time horizon, but most likely we would need to look elsewhere for a huge 5X impact. That's why many analysts are focused on sectors like the metaverse, where growth could be truly exponential.

Analysts have suggested that the metaverse could be a trillion-dollar market opportunity, so even if Ethereum claims just a 10% market share, that's still $100 billion, more than enough to make up for any sluggishness in the NFT market.

3. Solana

Lastly, there's Solana, which had been a crypto market darling before the events of 2022 unfolded. Solana is up more than 100% in 2023, so things are looking sunnier for the crypto. Even with that rapid rise, its market cap is still less than $10 billion, so a trillion-dollar valuation would imply a more than 100X gain in value.

This presents enormous challenges from a financial modeling perspective. Is there anything Solana can do that will lead to 100X returns? Most likely, it would require several high-risk, high-reward strategies and a lot of good luck.

The good news is that it is making a big bet on mobile crypto with its new Solana Mobile initiative. And its expanding network of retail stores (which Solana prefers to call "embassies") could be one way to supercharge growth with retail investors.

Solana is also going big on its global expansion strategy, investing in new initiatives across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

A long-term view of crypto

There's a good reason why venture capitalists like to refer to start-up companies that attain a billion-dollar valuation as "unicorns." They are extremely rare. And rarer still are companies that obtain a trillion-dollar valuation. Right now, only a handful of publicly traded companies have ever topped that figure.

That's why I think it might take nearly a decade before we see multiple cryptos obtain a trillion-dollar valuation. For now, I'm pinning my long-term investment hopes on Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are both capable of reaching that peak without dramatic changes to their overall growth plans. If you are looking for cryptos to buy and hold for the long haul, Bitcoin and Ethereum are potential options.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 High-Growth Coins That Could Be Worth $1 Trillion by 2030
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 High-Growth Coins That Could Be Worth $1 Trillion by 2030\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2023-02-08 23:29 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
In the cryptocurrency market, only one coin has ever attained a trillion-dollar market capitalization: Bitcoin. It would need to increase in value fivefold to hit $1 trillion.Even at its all-time peak, the digital coin only reached a market cap of $571.67 billion, so there's clearly work to do. That's why many analysts are focused on sectors like the metaverse, where growth could be truly exponential.Analysts have suggested that the metaverse could be a trillion-dollar market opportunity, so even if Ethereum claims just a 10% market share, that's still $100 billion, more than enough to make up for any sluggishness in the NFT market.3. SolanaLastly, there's Solana, which had been a crypto market darling before the events of 2022 unfolded. And its expanding network of retail stores (which Solana prefers to call \"embassies\") could be one way to supercharge growth with retail investors.Solana is also going big on its global expansion strategy, investing in new initiatives across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.A long-term view of cryptoThere's a good reason why venture capitalists like to refer to start-up companies that attain a billion-dollar valuation as \"unicorns.\" They are extremely rare. If you are looking for cryptos to buy and hold for the long haul, Bitcoin and Ethereum are potential options.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":117,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9940483408,"gmtCreate":1678111414905,"gmtModify":1678111420477,"author":{"id":"4112962014199552","authorId":"4112962014199552","name":"MGoh","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/645c25604c65dfba6ce6867713fb782f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4112962014199552","authorIdStr":"4112962014199552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"7 years is too long a time to think about ! As such, I choose to focus on NVIDIA's long-term outlook (as opposed to its medium-term prospects), or more specifically where the company will be in the next decade, in my current article.

NVIDIA will be a more profitable company with a more balanced sales mix by market in 10 years' time based on my analysis. In terms of valuations, NVDA's forward P/E multiple has also more than halved from its peak. The good long-term outlook and reasonable valuations make NVDA stock a Buy in my view.

Is Nvidia A Good Long Term Investment?

NVIDIA is a good investment for the long term, because of the company's market leadership.

As per the chart below, NVDA's share of the GPU (Graphics Processing Units) AIB (Add-in Board) market (as represented by the GeForce graphic cards or the green line in the chart) has consistently remained above 50% since the third quarter of 2005. Nvidia's GPU AIB market share has grown to approximately 75% in the first quarter of this year.

GPU AIB Market Share For The Period Between Q4 2002 And Q1 2022

3D Center Website Which Collated Data From Mercury Research And Jon Peddie Research

NVIDIA has been able to maintain and even extend its market leadership over Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), as indicated by the red line in the chart and the Radeon brand, in the past 15-16 years in the GPU AIB segment. This is a clear indication that NVDA has a competitive edge as compared to its rivals.

NVDA had the ability to stay as the market leader in GPUs for a very long time or more than a decade in the past. While history isn't a perfect indicator, it is probably the best indicator of the future. NVIDIA is a good long-term investment based on a reasonable assumption that the company will continue to dominate the GPU market for the next 10 years as it did in the past.

Can Nvidia Stock Continue To Grow?

NVDA can continue to grow in the future, but the key growth drivers for NVIDIA in the next decade will be very different from the factors responsible for NVDA's growth in the prior 10 years.

NVDA derived 46% and 40% of its fiscal 2022 (YE January) revenue from its gaming and data center markets, respectively as per its 10-K filing. In comparison, the professional visualization, OEM & other, and automotive markets contributed 8%, 4% and 2% of the company's FY 2022 top line, respectively.

In 10 years' time, NVIDIA should have a more balanced revenue mix, with its automotive and professional visualization markets growing faster than its core data center and gaming markets.

With respect to the automotive market, 2030 is the year that technology research firm Omdia expects "vehicles with Level 3+ autonomous systems" will have "wider adoption in mature markets" according to its September 17, 2022 research report. In other words, it will probably take close to 10 years for the inflection point for NVDA's automotive market revenue to arrive. Notably, NVIDA's automotive revenue was less than 5% of the sales contributed by the gaming market in FY 2021, but the company estimates that the automotive TAM (Total Addressable Market) is three times that of the TAM for the gaming market. Furthermore, NVDA has already gained a strong foothold in the automotive market, with the company disclosing at its 2022 Investor Day that it "won designs in 20 of the top 30 EV car OEMs."

For the professional visualization market, the Omniverse enterprise software should be the major growth driver in the next decade. The company described Omniverse as "a simulation engine for physically accurate virtual worlds and digital twins" at its 2022 Investor Day. Currently, only "10% of the world's top 100 companies" are users of NVDA's Omniverse enterprise software as highlighted at NVIDIA's Q1 FY 2023 earnings call on May 25, 2022. This points to lots of room for growth in the adoption rate of the Omniverse enterprise software amongcorporationsin the long run. As revealed at the company's Q1 FY 2023 investor briefing, Amazon (AMZN), PepsiCo (PEP), and Kroger (KR) are among the companies that have used NVDA's Omniverse enterprise software in the area of digital twins. A recent March 2022 market research report published by Grandview Research forecasted that the worldwide digital twin market will grow by an impressive +39.1% CAGR for the 2022-2030 period.

In a nutshell, NVIDIA should maintain positive growth momentum in the next 10 years, with the professional visualization and automotive markets being critical drivers of NVDA's growth in the long run.

Where Will Nvidia Stock Be In 10 Years?

Apart from having a more balanced revenue mix by market as discussed in the preceding section, a key change for NVIDIA will be the structural improvement in the company's profitability in 10 years' time. More specifically, I think that NVDA's profit margins could expand substantially in the long term thanks to higher revenue contribution from high-margin software revenue.

NVDA mentioned at its 2022 Investor Day that its "recurring software and services revenue are currently at an annual run rate in the low hundreds of millions." This implies that NVIDIA's current software revenue is less than 2% of its overall top line. In comparison, software accounts for more than half of NVDA's total $1 trillion TAM, comprising of $150 billion for NVIDIA AI enterprise products, $150 billion for Omniverse enterprise software and $300 billion for automotive (of which the bulk comes from software).

In my view, the proportion of high-margin software revenue as a percentage of total sales for NVIDIA could potentially rise from the low-single digit percentage level now to the high-teens percentage level in 10 years' time. As such, I choose to focus on NVIDIA's long-term outlook (as opposed to its medium-term prospects), or more specifically where the company will be in the next decade, in my current article.NVIDIA will be a more profitable company with a more balanced sales mix by market in 10 years' time based on my analysis. In terms of valuations, NVDA's forward P/E multiple has also more than halved from its peak. The good long-term outlook and reasonable valuations make NVDA stock a Buy in my view.Is Nvidia A Good Long Term Investment?NVIDIA is a good investment for the long term, because of the company's market leadership. As per the chart below, NVDA's share of the GPU (Graphics Processing Units) AIB (Add-in Board) market (as represented by the GeForce graphic cards or the green line in the chart) has consistently remained above 50% since the third quarter of 2005. Nvidia's GPU AIB market share has grown to approximately 75% in the first quarter of this year.GPU AIB Market Share For The Period Between Q4 2002 And Q1 20223D Center Website Which Collated Data From Mercury Research And Jon Peddie ResearchNVIDIA has been able to maintain and even extend its market leadership over Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), as indicated by the red line in the chart and the Radeon brand, in the past 15-16 years in the GPU AIB segment. This is a clear indication that NVDA has a competitive edge as compared to its rivals.NVDA had the ability to stay as the market leader in GPUs for a very long time or more than a decade in the past. While history isn't a perfect indicator, it is probably the best indicator of the future. NVIDIA is a good long-term investment based on a reasonable assumption that the company will continue to dominate the GPU market for the next 10 years as it did in the past. Can Nvidia Stock Continue To Grow?NVDA can continue to grow in the future, but the key growth drivers for NVIDIA in the next decade will be very different from the factors responsible for NVDA's growth in the prior 10 years.NVDA derived 46% and 40% of its fiscal 2022 (YE January) revenue from its gaming and data center markets, respectively as per its 10-K filing. With respect to the automotive market, 2030 is the year that technology research firm Omdia expects \"vehicles with Level 3+ autonomous systems\" will have \"wider adoption in mature markets\" according to its September 17, 2022 research report. Furthermore, NVDA has already gained a strong foothold in the automotive market, with the company disclosing at its 2022 Investor Day that it \"won designs in 20 of the top 30 EV car OEMs.\"For the professional visualization market, the Omniverse enterprise software should be the major growth driver in the next decade. The company described Omniverse as \"a simulation engine for physically accurate virtual worlds and digital twins\" at its 2022 Investor Day. Currently, only \"10% of the world's top 100 companies\" are users of NVDA's Omniverse enterprise software as highlighted at NVIDIA's Q1 FY 2023 earnings call on May 25, 2022. In a nutshell, NVIDIA should maintain positive growth momentum in the next 10 years, with the professional visualization and automotive markets being critical drivers of NVDA's growth in the long run.Where Will Nvidia Stock Be In 10 Years?Apart from having a more balanced revenue mix by market as discussed in the preceding section, a key change for NVIDIA will be the structural improvement in the company's profitability in 10 years' time. More specifically, I think that NVDA's profit margins could expand substantially in the long term thanks to higher revenue contribution from high-margin software revenue.NVDA mentioned at its 2022 Investor Day that its \"recurring software and services revenue are currently at an annual run rate in the low hundreds of millions.\" This implies that NVIDIA's current software revenue is less than 2% of its overall top line. This will help to drive an increase in NVDA's overall profit margins for the next decade.NVDA Stock Key MetricsThe key metric for NVDA stock is its valuation multiple.NVIDIA's consensus forward next twelve months' normalized P/E multiple has already compressed from its 10-year peak of 73.0 times recorded in early-November 2021 to 31.6 times as of July 25, 2022, as perS&P Capital IQ'svaluation data.Considering NVDA's market leadership in the GPU AIB segment and the positive outlook for the company in the long run as detailed earlier, NVDA's current valuation, a forward P/E of slightly above 30 times, represents a good entry point. Is NVDA Stock A Buy, Sell, or Hold?I rate NVDA stock as a Buy. NVIDIA is attractively-valued, and the long-term outlook for the company is bright.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":75,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9934041825,"gmtCreate":1663165474267,"gmtModify":1676537218108,"author":{"id":"4112962014199552","authorId":"4112962014199552","name":"MGoh","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/645c25604c65dfba6ce6867713fb782f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4112962014199552","authorIdStr":"4112962014199552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$With the biggest drop yesterday makes today a good day to buy the dip.
