Point","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2268457729","media":"Reuters","summary":"Australia's central bank is set on raising interest rates again as it battles to contain red-hot inf","content":"

Australia's central bank is set on raising interest rates again as it battles to contain red-hot inflation, but sees a case for slowing the pace of hikes as rates approached more normal levels.

Minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia's $(RBA)$ September Board meeting out on Tuesday reiterated that policy was not on a pre-set path and would be balanced to try and keep the economy on an even keel.

"All else equal, members saw the case for a slower pace of increase in interest rates as becoming stronger as the level of the cash rate rises," the minutes showed.

The central bank lifted its cash rate by 50 basis points to 2.35% at the Sept. 6 meeting, the fifth hike in as many months for a total increase of 225 basis points.

Markets are wagering on yet another half-point hike in October, in part to keep pace with the U.S. Federal Reserve, which is widely expected to lift its rates by 75 basis points this week.

RBA Governor Philip Lowe has flagged the chance of a slowdown in hikes at some point, but also underlined the importance in a very tight labour market of keeping inflation expectations anchored.

The emphasis on inflation and a hawkish outlook from the Fed has led Westpac chief economist Bill Evans to revise up his call on rates and he now sees a half-point move in October rather than 25 basis points.

He also looks for quarter-point hikes in November, December and February taking rates to a peak of 3.6%.

"Clear evidence of the expected slowdown in inflation will not be apparent until late February, allowing the RBA to go on hold in March on evidence that growth is slowing and that inflation and rates have also peaked in the U.S.," said Evans.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n<meta name=\"viewport\" At first glance, there didn’t seem to be any negative company-specific news today. Inquiring minds, however, will always endeavor to dig beneath the surface. And as it turns out, there’s something less-than-inspiring happening with Nvidia lately.Specifically, Nvidiaquietly introduced its budget-priced GTX 1630 graphics card yesterday. And when I say, “quietly,” I’m not exaggerating. Indeed, Nvidia didn’t even announce the event on its press releases page. Some folks might already consider this to be a bad sign. After all, Nvidia should be proud to release an affordable GPU. Right?Maybe yes, maybe no. Already, there have been less-than-ideal reviews for the GTX 1630. For instance, Nael Grewther noted Nvidia’s“many launch date delays” and opined that “the graphics cards don’t have anything special.”A Bad Day for NVDA StockMeanwhile, Gizmodo’s Phillip Tracy suggested that the GTX 1630 isn’t great for gaming, which is oftentimes the intended use of Nvidia’s graphics cards. In defense of this position, Tracy declared, “The card struggled across every gaming benchmark, failing to reach 30 frames per second on most tests and averaging just 24 fps at 1080p settings across the wide range of titles.”PCWorld’s Michael Crider also struck hard at the GTX 1630, dubbing it “the weakest card with a GTX label by a wide, wide margin” and asserting that it “really shouldn’t be a consideration for anyone who’s interested in gaming.”TechRadar’s Christian Guyton also piled on, stating that the GTX 1630 is“not very impressive” as far as specs go. Specifically, the “power consumption and VRAM are basically identical to the original GTX 1650, but the memory bandwidth is cut in half and the die uses fewer CUDA cores too,” according to Guyton. All in all, it’s been rough going for Nvidia as a GPU producer today, and for NVDA stockholders. It will be interesting to see if Wall Street soon forgives and forgets the lackluster debut of Nvidia’s apparently cheap but underwhelming new graphics card.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":322,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9938920096,"gmtCreate":1662545458215,"gmtModify":1676537085032,"author":{"id":"4117177966022572","authorId":"4117177966022572","name":"Risen1982","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/a16641d58bb352becb9a93e0b80f1ec4","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4117177966022572","authorIdStr":"4117177966022572"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"time to close my short position","listText":"time to close my short position","text":"time to close my short position","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9938920096","repostId":"1186085180","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1186085180","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1662543461,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1186085180?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-09-07 17:37","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"NIO's Q2 Revenue was $1,536.6 Million, Net Loss was $411.7 Million","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1186085180","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"NIO today announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022.
