Selecting Dividend Aristocrats Using SCHD Methodology - Falling Behind

SummaryI propose leveraging the stock selection criteria from the underlying index of SCHD to build a portfolio with a subset of Dividend Aristocrats.I am tracking two portfolios built using this process and comparing the results to NOBL and SCHD.Both portfolios started out trailing their benchmarks, December yielded positive results but the new year has started out pretty rough.DNY59/E+ via Getty ImagesQuick RecapOn October 18, 2022 I published anarticle that covered the stock selection methodology used by the Dow Jones US Dividend 100 Index, the underlying index for Schwab's U.S. Dividend Equity Fund (SCHD). In that article I proposed a theory, to leverage this stock selection process and apply it to the Dividend Aristocrat universe of stocks. On November 1st, 2022, I launched two m

My 12 Best Dividend Kings For March 2023

Dividend KingsThe Dividend Kings are an elite group of companies that have all paid and increased dividends for at least 50 consecutive years. There are multiple lists of the kings on the internet, some that include more than 49companies. I have chosen to use the list that was updated on March 1, 2023, and includes one new dividend king this month. The newest dividend stock added to the list of Dividend Kings is Walmart (WMT). The list also included one deletion, V.F. My Best Dividend Aristocrats For March 2023

2023 ReviewThe ProShares S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats ETF (NOBL) returned 3.23% in January and started the new year on a positive note. After posting its worst annual return in 2022 I look forward to a more optimistic 2023. Thenew year did start out better, however much of the gains we saw in January have been given up in February. Through February 24th the ETF is down 2.25%, leaving it with a very modest 0.91% gain year-to-date.V.F. Corporation (VFC) announced a dividend cut earlier this year and is scheduled to be kicked off the dividend aristocrat list at its next rebalancing in 2024. To maintain aristocrat status a company must maintain a consecutive 25 year dividend growth streak measured by comparing annual dividend payouts. Therefore if VF Corporation were to raise its dividend
