Stocks bottomed in October 2022 as very slowly, but surely, many investors realized that the “Don’t fight the Fed” mantra was inaccurate. That’s because, in-line with my predictions, higher rates did not cause the economy to enter a recession. It also did not cause corporate profits to tumble or these stock superstars to falter.

However, just as much of the stock market was really starting to take off last summer, treasury rates began soaring. Rates ultimately rose by a percentage point. Once again, Wall Street fell back into its old habit of panicking about rates. This caused the stock market to pull back about 10%. In recent days, the market has recovered as treasury rates have stabilized and many companies reported very favorable third-quarter financial results. Consequently, I believe that Wall Street has gotten over its latest episode of “rate phobia.” Moreover, it is now beginning to focus on strong earnings and the economy’s good fundamentals. This is setting us up for a year-end rally. Here are three superstar stocks to buy to benefit from the market’s comeback.

Intel (INTC)

Source: Kate Krav-Rude / Shutterstock.com

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), as I noted in a previous column, is starting to benefit from selling chips that enable localized artificial intelligence. The firm has created Gaudi chips, which are used to develop AI are surging. CEO Pat Gelsinger noted that, “The overall orders for those chips doubled in the 90 days that ended on Oct. 26,” as I reported in my Oct. 31 article.

Also importantly, Gelsinger noted that INTC had recruited, “A major customer” for its new business of making chips for other firms.

Investment bank Northland Capital was upbeat on Intel’s results and outlook. Northland Capital predicted that Intel and Taiwan Semiconductor would be the two main global chip makers going forward. Northland added that INTC, “Is better positioned than widely recognized.”

All of Wall Street appears to have become much more upbeat on Intel, as its shares have climbed 12.5%.

ServiceNow (NOW)

Source: Sundry Photography / Shutterstock.com

In-line with my previous bullishness on ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW) stock, NOW reported very impressive third-quarter results on Oct. 26. ServiceNow automates IT tasks.

Specifically, the firm’s top line jumped 25% versus the same period a year earlier to $2.29 billion, while its income from operations, soared 30% YOY to $676 million.

Multiple banks were also impressed with NOW’s Q3 results. For example, Japanese bank Mizuho called the print “remarkably strong.” They also said that the bank was “very well-positioned” to expand rapidly throughout the long term. Similarly, TD Cowen believes that the firm generated powerful growth. Moreover, the bank, like me, thinks that AI will meaningfully boost the size of the firm’s revenue increases going forward.

Indicating that AI is indeed lighting a fire under NOW’s growth, COO CJ Desai reported recently that the technology is boosting NOW’s expansion. Desai noted that the firm’s revenue from the federal government had soared 75% last quarter versus the same period a year earlier.

Given all these points, INTC is certainly one of the best stocks to buy for the year-end rally.

JPMorgan (JPM)

Source: Daryl L / Shutterstock.com

JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM), America’s largest bank, reported excellent third-quarter results. Intel (INTC): Intel is starting to benefit greatly from the proliferation of AI, while it’s poised to get a big boost form making chips for other companies. ServiceNow (NOW): NOW reported very strong Q3 results and its revenue from Washington is soaring. JPMorgan (JPM): The recent pullback of JPM is far overdone. Source: ShutterstockIn 2022, stocks entered a bear market, as much of Wall Street entered into a panic about the Federal raising interest rates. Here are three superstar stocks to buy to benefit from the market’s comeback.Intel (INTC)Source: Kate Krav-Rude / Shutterstock.comIntel (NASDAQ:INTC), as I noted in a previous column, is starting to benefit from selling chips that enable localized artificial intelligence. The firm has created Gaudi chips, which are used to develop AI are surging. CEO Pat Gelsinger noted that, “The overall orders for those chips doubled in the 90 days that ended on Oct. 26,” as I reported in my Oct. 31 article. Also importantly, Gelsinger noted that INTC had recruited, “A major customer” for its new business of making chips for other firms.Investment bank Northland Capital was upbeat on Intel’s results and outlook. Northland Capital predicted that Intel and Taiwan Semiconductor would be the two main global chip makers going forward. Northland added that INTC, “Is better positioned than widely recognized.”All of Wall Street appears to have become much more upbeat on Intel, as its shares have climbed 12.5%.ServiceNow (NOW)Source: Sundry Photography / Shutterstock.comIn-line with my previous bullishness on ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW) stock, NOW reported very impressive third-quarter results on Oct. 26. ServiceNow automates IT tasks.Specifically, the firm’s top line jumped 25% versus the same period a year earlier to $2.29 billion, while its income from operations, soared 30% YOY to $676 million.Multiple banks were also impressed with NOW’s Q3 results. For example, Japanese bank Mizuho called the print “remarkably strong.” They also said that the bank was “very well-positioned” to expand rapidly throughout the long term. Similarly, TD Cowen believes that the firm generated powerful growth. Moreover, the bank, like me, thinks that AI will meaningfully boost the size of the firm’s revenue increases going forward.Indicating that AI is indeed lighting a fire under NOW’s growth, COO CJ Desai reported recently that the technology is boosting NOW’s expansion. Desai noted that the firm’s revenue from the federal government had soared 75% last quarter versus the same period a year earlier.Given all these points, INTC is certainly one of the best stocks to buy for the year-end rally.JPMorgan (JPM)Source: Daryl L / Shutterstock.comJPMorgan (NYSE:JPM), America’s largest bank, reported excellent third-quarter results. It is very well-positioned to benefit from the country’s strong economy going forward. Its earnings per share came in at $4.33. This was well above analysts’ mean outlook of $3.97 and much higher than the EPS of $3.12 that it reported in Q3 of 2022. Also noteworthy is that it increased its 2023 net interest income guidance to $88.5 billion from its previous outlook of roughly $87 billion.JPM stock has retreated in the wake of the company’s results and a decision by CEO Jamie Dimon to unload 1 million of his shares of JPM stock. However, JPM’s results were strong, while Dimon is 67-years-old and is probably making his portfolio less risky, which is the prudent move for anyone nearing retirement.Given these points, I believe that the shares’ pullback is overdone, and I recommend that investors buy JPM on weakness.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":152,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":238594193998112,"gmtCreate":1699280014736,"gmtModify":1699281457004,"author":{"id":"4162360169792822","authorId":"4162360169792822","name":"robiM","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/5c7c058ba31d8c9600fb9d6735921e69","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4162360169792822","authorIdStr":"4162360169792822"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"read","listText":"read","text":"read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/238594193998112","repostId":"2380913866","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":152,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":238833255379024,"gmtCreate":1699338364088,"gmtModify":1699339284351,"author":{"id":"4162360169792822","authorId":"4162360169792822","name":"robiM","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/5c7c058ba31d8c9600fb9d6735921e69","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4162360169792822","authorIdStr":"4162360169792822"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"How","listText":"How","text":"How","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/238833255379024","repostId":"2381193392","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2381193392","pubTimestamp":1699316222,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2381193392?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-11-07 08:17","market":"us","language":"en","title":"$45 Billion of 2 Warren Buffett Stocks That Could Soar Over 20% Over the Next 12 Months, According to Wall Street","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2381193392","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The Oracle of Omaha has a lot of money riding on these two beaten-down stocks.","content":"

Warren Buffett doesn't concern himself about short-term stock moves. He focuses on the long term. The legendary investor once stated, "If you aren't thinking about owning a stock for 10 years, don't even think about owning it for 10 minutes."

I suspect Buffett still likes to see the stocks he owns perform well over the short term, too. And analysts predict great things for at least a couple of his largest holdings. Roughly $45 billion of Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A 0.66%) (BRK.B 0.80%) portfolio is invested in two stocks that could soar more than 20% over the next 12 months, according to Wall Street.

Bank of America: 21% upside potential

Bank of America ranks as Berkshire's second-largest position, making up more than 8% of its total portfolio. Berkshire's stake in the big bank is currently worth close to $27.4 billion.

It's been a tough year so far for Bank of America shareholders with the stock falling around 20%. The failure of several U.S. banks earlier this year led to widespread concerns that weighed on the entire banking industry.

However, Wall Street remains quite bullish about Bank of America. The average analysts' 12-month price target reflects an upside potential of 21%. Of the 30 analysts surveyed by Refinitiv in November who cover the stock, 22 rate it as a buy or strong buy. Most of the other analysts recommend holding BofA, although there is one outlier who recommends selling the stock.

Bank of America's business continues to perform well. The company's earnings jumped 10% year over year in the third quarter to $7.8 billion. BofA's management is doing a great job at managing expenses. The bank's balance sheet remains solid. Unsurprisingly, CEO Brian Moynihan said in the Q3 earnings call, "[W]e feel good about the path ahead."

Chevron: 23% upside potential

Buffett sold shares of Chevron in the second quarter. However, the oil and gas producer still ranks as Berkshire's fifth-largest holding with its stake worth nearly $18 billion.

Like Bank of America, Chevron has seen its share price sink close to 20% in 2023. The key difference for Chevron, though, is that most of its decline has come in recent days. Investors reacted negatively to the company's announced acquisition of Hess for $53 billion and its weaker-than-expected Q3 results.

But Wall Street hasn't bailed on the energy giant. The average 12-month price target for the stock is 23% higher than Chevron's current share price. Of the 24 analysts surveyed by Refinitiv in November who cover the stock, 16 rate it as a buy or strong buy. Seven analysts recommend holding Chevron, with one giving the stock an "underperform" rating.

Interestingly, Bank of America upgraded Chevron from neutral to buy after the recent sell-off. Analyst Doug Leggate wrote to investors that the stock's decline "makes little sense" and that the lower share price "leaves CVX back at levels we believe warrants another look."

Is Wall Street right about these Buffett stocks?

I think that Wall Street's optimism about these two Buffett stocks is merited. Both Bank of America and Chevron have solid underlying businesses. I like BofA's focus on technological innovation. I also believe that Chevron's acquisition of Hess is a good move for the company.

The price is right with both stocks, in my view. Bank of America's shares trade at less than eight times expected earnings and a price-to-book ratio of only 0.81. Chevron's forward earnings multiple is a little over 10x.

Last, but not least, the dividends for both companies are attractive. Bank of America's dividend yield stands at nearly 3.7%, while Chevron's yield is almost 4.2%. These top Buffett holdings will pay investors nicely as they wait for rebounds that I suspect will be on the way sooner or later.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
$45 Billion of 2 Warren Buffett Stocks That Could Soar Over 20% Over the Next 12 Months, According to Wall Street
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n$45 Billion of 2 Warren Buffett Stocks That Could Soar Over 20% Over the Next 12 Months, According to Wall Street\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2023-11-07 08:17 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Warren Buffett doesn't concern himself about short-term stock moves. The average 12-month price target for the stock is 23% higher than Chevron's current share price. Of the 24 analysts surveyed by Refinitiv in November who cover the stock, 16 rate it as a buy or strong buy. Seven analysts recommend holding Chevron, with one giving the stock an \"underperform\" rating. Interestingly, Bank of America upgraded Chevron from neutral to buy after the recent sell-off. Analyst Doug Leggate wrote to investors that the stock's decline \"makes little sense\" and that the lower share price \"leaves CVX back at levels we believe warrants another look.\" Is Wall Street right about these Buffett stocks?I think that Wall Street's optimism about these two Buffett stocks is merited. Both Bank of America and Chevron have solid underlying businesses. I like BofA's focus on technological innovation. I also believe that Chevron's acquisition of Hess is a good move for the company.The price is right with both stocks, in my view. Bank of America's shares trade at less than eight times expected earnings and a price-to-book ratio of only 0.81. Chevron's forward earnings multiple is a little over 10x.Last, but not least, the dividends for both companies are attractive. Bank of America's dividend yield stands at nearly 3.7%, while Chevron's yield is almost 4.2%. These top Buffett holdings will pay investors nicely as they wait for rebounds that I suspect will be on the way sooner or later.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":193,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":238598463574136,"gmtCreate":1699281171513,"gmtModify":1699281466031,"author":{"id":"4162360169792822","authorId":"4162360169792822","name":"robiM","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/5c7c058ba31d8c9600fb9d6735921e69","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4162360169792822","authorIdStr":"4162360169792822"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","listText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","text":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/238598463574136","repostId":"1170176677","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":97,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
