Unless One's Market Timing Is Impeccable, The ProShares SPXU Is Too Risky

Summary The highly leveraged SPXU short ETF has not been a good, long-term investment. Since its inception in June of 2009, SPXU has experienced an average annual loss of 44% a year. SPXU has short-term use only if one believes they can either correctly time a sudden market decline or want to hedge a portfolio against possible catastrophic events. Regarding this, I believe SPXU has immediate use in hedging against possible catastrophic events out of the Ukraine. The nuclear risk is not off the table as that war continues. This article is part of a continuing series of articles (here)on how to use investor buying in exchange-traded funds ("ETFs") to help determine the direction of the stock market, and specific sectors of it. These articles areabout investor sentiment and the measurement of

7 Red Flags for DiDi Global's Future

DiDi Global(DIDI1.71%)was one of the worst-performing IPOs of 2021. China's top ride-hailing company went public at $14 per share last June, and its stock rose to about $18 by the end of that month. But that turned out to be DiDi's all-time high. A series of unfortunate events subsequently occurred, and DiDi's stock price plunged to less than $2 -- which reduced its market cap from nearly $80 billion to about $8.5 billion. Let's review the seven red flags that caused investors to dump DiDi, and why this beaten-down stock still isn't a great value at 0.3 times this year's sales. 1. The suspension of its apps in China The first red flag appeared just a few days after its public debut. Citing vague cybersecurity and data privacy issues, China's regulators abruptly forced the country's app sto

3 Growth Stocks Down 48.3% to 74.7% That Billionaires Are Buying

By Cory RenauerKEY POINTS PayPal operates the world's most popular digital payments platform. Pinterest's social-recommendation engine delivers heaps of revenue per user in North America, but the rest of the world has a lot of catching up to do. In the second quarter, Steven Cohen and Point72 Asset Management bought over 1 million shares of video-game publisher Take-Two Interactive. When the going gets tough, these legendary investors go shopping for stocks. What do the best investors do when their favorite stocks are down? They buy more, of course.Successful investors know that during market meltdowns, like the one we're experiencing, shares of the best companies can fall just as quickly as the lousy ones. Those missteps caused it to fall behind Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing($Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ ),or TSMC, in the process race to manufacture smaller, denser, and more power-efficient chips. They also allowed Advanced Micro Devices($AMD(AMD)$ ), its rival that outsources its production to TSMC, to pull ahead with more-advanced chips.

This is not a SoFi problem look at the markets. Regardless of what the shorts say. We had beautiful fantastic earnings and once the economy turns around we will be higher.Putting our time and effort into activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ Are we surprised that AMD lowered guidance? After all, they did reduce its orders of chips from TSMC for 2025. This was due to uncertainty about demand for the MI325, a competitor to Nvidia's H200. Why would hyperscalers want the equivalent of the H200 from AMD when Nvidia's far superior Blackwell is available. So, AMD reduced orders from TSMC while Blackwell is completely sold out for 2025... insane demand. TSMC production capacity that was reduced from AMD is picked up by NVIDIA. This means more revenue for NVIDIA in 2025 with possibly an even larger market share. The ER next month will set up what will be a monster 2025.

What I Thought about NFLX

NFLX losing 75% of its value is a direct result of poor management decisions.....too much WOKENESS in its content and too much money paid to the Obama's and Harry/Meghan for programs most of the country does not care about.Absolute shame that NFLX is a case study for a company who loses sight of the business and fiduciary responsibility to investors. Basically lost 50% of the country to satisfy a mere 10% of the woke crowd.$Netflix(NFLX)$

Crypto Industry Sees Surge in Lawsuits as Investor Losses Pile Up

By James FanelliLawsuits over cryptocurrency lossesare mounting across the country, as investing in digital tokens and coins has become mainstream and the money at stake has increased significantly.Even before the recent plunge in crypto prices, the industry already was seeing an uptick in lawsuits, which have come in several forms. Many of the cases have been fueled by investors who allege some digital coins were hyped andsold under false pretenses. Some proposed class-action suits allege pump-and-dump schemes involving celebrity promoters. Others allege that some digital tokensare unregistered securitiesor that cryptocurrency issuers were deceitful in their marketing.Collectively, the lawsuits speak to both the troubles and successes of a maturing industry.‘We’re seeing all of

NVDA

$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ With a surprising degree of consistency over the past 100 years or so, stocks have followed a broad pattern that coincides with presidential terms. The months leading up to midterm elections have generally been the worst in what is known as the four-year presidential election cycle. But the stock market is about to enter a sweet spot. Stocks have usually rallied in the year after the midterms — no matter which side wins.
