It looks now like every bank is guaranteed for any amount of deposit. This means all banks pay more in fees, hurting the small, honest, regional bank harder. So, if you’re a customer, you want to find the sleaziest highest paying fly by night bank possible. If you’re an investor, whatever bank you own is paying for the inordinate risks of your dishonest competitor. Looks like the makings of a race to the bottom.
