01 Stock Market

The U.S. major indexes closed as follows: the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.51% to 48,461.93; the S&P 500 declined 0.35% to 6,905.74; and the Nasdaq Composite decreased 0.50% to 23,474.35. The session saw modest broad-based weakness into the close, with technology and select mega-caps mixed while precious metals-related ETFs slumped notably.

Unusual-move stocks were mixed, with semiconductors diverging and precious metals ETFs under pressure. Nvidia (NVDA) down 1.21% at $188.22; Tesla (TSLA) down 3.27% at $459.64; Apple (AAPL) up 0.13% at $273.76; Meta (META) down 0.69% at $658.69. Micron (MU) up 3.41% at $294.37; Intel (INTC) up 1.33% at $36.68; AMD (AMD) up 0.29% at $215.61; Microsoft (MSFT) down 0.13% at $487.10; Amazon (AMZN) down 0.19% at $232.07; Alphabet (GOOG) down 0.18% at $314.39; Broadcom (AVGO) down 0.78% at $349.39. Precious metals ETFs sold off: SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) down 4.35% at $398.60; iShares Silver Trust (SLV) down 7.19% at $66.01; ProShares Ultra Silver (AGQ) down 16.68% at $166.43. Crypto-exposed and chip-adjacent names eased: Coinbase (COIN) down 1.32% at $233.77; TSMC (TSM) down 0.63% at $300.92; Palantir (PLTR) down 2.40% at $184.18.

Moves among U.S.-listed Chinese ADRs were mixed: NIO (NIO) up 4.71% at $5.34; Baidu (BIDU) up 1.61% at $126.81; NetEase (NTES) up 0.92% at $139.34; Tencent Music (TME) up 0.28% at $17.67; Trip.com (TCOM) up 0.15% at $72.61. E-commerce and EV names were softer: Alibaba (BABA) down 2.46% at $148.49; JD.com (JD) down 0.44% at $29.27; PDD Holdings (PDD) down 0.75% at $114.15; Xpeng (XPEV) down 1.35% at $20.50; Li Auto (LI) down 1.61% at $17.16. Data center operator VNET (VNET) down 0.58% at $8.64 and off-price retailer Vipshop (VIPS) down 0.51% at $19.36 also eased into the close.

U.S. 10-year Treasury yield fell by 0.53%, latest at 4.11%.

USD/CNH was unchanged 0.00%, at 7.01; USD/HKD rose 0.0039%, at 7.77.

U.S. Dollar Index fell 0.0143%, at 98.03.

WTI crude futures fell 0.43%, at 57.83 USD/bbl; COMEX gold futures rose 0.15%, at 4,350.20 USD/oz.
