Chinese Shares Broadly Lower as Oil, Tech Stocks Weigh -- Market Talk

0730 GMT - Chinese shares ended mostly lower, dragged by oil and tech stocks. Investor sentiment was likely weighed by Wall Street's selloff overnight and sluggish performances across Asian markets. PetroChina dropped 4.2% and Cnooc was 4.8% lower. Foxconn Industrial Internet declined 4.5% and Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology edged 0.1% lower. Among the gainers, China Tourism Group Duty Free Corp. put up 2.4% and East Money Information gained 1.3%. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended 0.5% lower at 2886.74, the Shenzhen Composite Index edged 0.1% higher and the ChiNext Price Index declined 0.4%. (sherry.qin@wsj.com)
