China to Start Anti-Discrimination Probe on EV, Aluminum Tariffs
MT Newswires Live09-04
China's Commerce Ministry will start an anti-discrimination probe on Canada's tariff increases on Chinese electric vehicles and steel and aluminum products, International Business Daily, a newspaper sponsored by China's Ministry of Commerce, said in an op-ed piece on Tuesday.
China also plans to lodge a complaint with the World Trade Organization over the planned tariffs, calling them "discriminatory" and "unilateral," the newspaper said.
Separately, BBC reported that Beijing will also start anti-dumping probes on imports of rapeseed or canola and other related chemicals from Canada.
Canada called the investigations on canola "deeply concerning," the BBC said.
