Tencent's (HKG:0700) WeChat added a gift-giving feature to its e-commerce platform in the days leading to Christmas, the South China Morning Post reported Friday.
Gifts on the embedded e-commerce applet are priced at 10,000 yuan or below. They do not include jewelry and tutoring sessions, the report said.
The receiver must accept the gift and write a postal address for the gift to be sent within 24 hours or the order would be canceled and refunded to the sender, the report said.
WeChat users could only send a single gift to one friend on the app per order, according to the SCMP.
