Are EV stocks going to party tonight?

With the breaking news that $XPeng Inc.(XPEV)$  will acquire Didi's smart EV unit in a deal worth up to $744 million, shares of the Chinese electric vehicle maker shoot through the roof in early trading on the Hong Kong bourse, while stocks of its peers $NIO Inc.(NIO)$ and $Li Auto(LI)$ have risen in harmony as well. I'm looking forward to similar stellar performances of their shares listed in NASDAQ when the US market opens tonight!

With rising awareness of climate change and increasing tightening of emissions control, the EV market is poised to grow over time, and EV startups the like of the Chinese trio, $Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc.(FFIE)$ and $Rivian Automotive, Inc.(RIVN)$ have been giving the incumbent conventional vehicle makers late to the EV party a run for their money.

Despite rising competition in the EV market, as conventional vehicle makers rush to jump onto the EV bandwagon, unlike the former, the new ET startups do not carry the legacy baggage and are enjoying first-mover advantages as they reap the fruits of their early research and development in the EV space.

I'm optimistic of the future of EV as I see more of them on the roads!
