Resisting the tide of the selloff, good luck to all.

| Market recap

On Tuesday, U.S. major indices showed mixed trends, with $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ down 1.35% and $S&P 500(.SPX)$ down 0.47%, as large tech stocks faced three consecutive days of selling.

$NASDAQ Golden Dragon China Index(HXC)$ increased by 0.6%, with Chinese concept stocks rebounding, $Li Auto(LI)$ rising over 13%, and $MINISO Group Holding Limited(MNSO)$ gaining nearly 6%.

Megacaps

No, Apple can’t save the Magnificent 7. On Monday, $Apple(AAPL)$ announced a $500 billion investment in the Stargate program, avoiding a setback, but analysts noted this is merely a marketing strategy: Apple has no actual plans for additional investment; this expenditure is part of regular spending, mostly just a relocation of funds from overseas to the U.S. to avoid tariffs. This capex by Apple cannot be compared with that of $Microsoft(MSFT)$ or $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ .

MAGA

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ fell 8.39%, seemingly irretrievable (yes, we've removed it from the Megacaps, sigh).

Last night, TSLA’s market cap dipped below $1 trillion, influenced by three events: First, European sales plummeted, with Musk’s political interventions backfiring. January sales in Europe dropped by 45%, while overall EV sales surged by 37% during the same period.

Second, the future of autonomous driving looks grim. In China, the launch of a "stripped-down" FSD version drew comments that “the price is more impressive than the technology.”

Third, the brand is shattered at home, with protests erupting across the U.S. against Tesla. Musk’s ruthless government reforms have faced sustained opposition from the left, including incidents of arson and gun violence.

Asian markets

- $Trip.com Group Limited(TCOM)$ faced a significant drop of over 11% due to poor earnings expectations, while in HK market $TRIP.COM-S(09961)$ saw a 3% recovery today. The valuation gap between the two markets presents potential trading opportunities: TCOM rose pre-market, validating the logic of an oversold recovery; it’s advisable to keep an eye on it at market open.

- $HSTECH(HSTECH)$ surged, with $EAST BUY(01797)$ experiencing a late rally of over 8%. Founder Yu Minhong suggested a potential collaboration with the popular Chinese supermarket Pangdonglai. Anticipated sales for the SU7 Ultra exceeded expectations, leading $XIAOMI-W(01810)$, set to release a major new product this Thursday, to rise nearly 6%, up 47% this month.

- On February 26, $MIXUE GROUP(02097)$'s IPO shattered Hong Kong stock records, with a subscription multiple of 5,125 times and total subscriptions reaching HKD 1.77 trillion, significantly boosting other food and beverage stocks like $NAYUKI(02150)$.

| Top Gun

The transportation sector in the Singapore stock market has risen for three consecutive weeks, with $BK6519(BK6519)$ gaining nearly 1% today.

$SIA(C6L.SI)$ hits record S$5B in quarterly revenue, net profit soars to S$1.6B. The company’s net profit more than doubled in the third quarter ending December 31, 2024, rising 146.7% to S$1.6B, up from S$659M in 2023.

This month, SIA surged nearly 6%, with a dividend yield reaching an astonishing 7.14%.
