The ten Chinese ADRs show a wide YTD spread driven by three themes: AI-accelerated demand, e-commerce rebalancing, and easing policy/regulation.

  1. AI silicon supply chain: $Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ +18.8%
TSMC’s 3 nm/2 nm capacity is fully booked by NVIDIA, AMD and Apple; AI-GPU and advanced-packaging shortages keep gross margin above 50%, while a weaker USD further boosts TWD-denominated earnings.

  2. E-commerce recovery: $Alibaba(BABA)$ +42%, $PDD Holdings Inc(PDD)$ +18.6%, $JD.com(JD)$ ‑2.3%
    • Alibaba’s “user-first” strategy restored Taobao-Tmall GMV to double-digit growth, plus a US$25 bn buyback.
    • PDD’s Temu is still No. 1 in U.S. downloads, but growth is decelerating.
    • JD’s 1P retail lags amid price wars.

  3. Content & social: $Tencent Music(TME)$ +88%, $NetEase(NTES)$ +56%
Tencent Music’s paying ratio crossed 20% and struck AI-revenue-share deals with labels; NetEase’s Eggy Party and Naraka Mobile beat overseas revenue estimates.

  4. Mobility & travel: $Li Auto(LI)$ +28.6%, $Trip.com Group Limited(TCOM)$ ‑7.8%
Li Auto’s L6 ramp and margin rebound; Trip.com faces a tough comp and slower outbound flight recovery.

  5. Defensive telecom: $Chunghwa Telecom(CHT)$ +17.1%
5G and enterprise-private-network ARPU lift; 4% dividend yield draws defensive flows.

  6. Search & cloud: $Baidu(BIDU)$ +9.6%
ERNIE 4.5 is commercializing, but cloud growth at only 12% tempers the AI story.

One-liner ranking: AI silicon (TSM) > content/music (TME/NTES) > e-commerce leaders (BABA) > EV OEM (LI) > defensive telco (CHT) > search-cloud (BIDU) > e-commerce divergence (PDD/JD) > travel (TCOM).
