What's your tech-stock plan for 2022?

Getting into 2022, what is your strategy for tech stocks?

Looks like the indexes $SPX and $NASDAQ(^IXIC.IN) have kept pretty steady rise due to heavy weightage of the mega techs, which I call #MAMATAN (MSFT AAPL META(FB) Alphabet (GOOGL) TSLA AMZN NVDA).

The mega stocks have been doing greatly in 2021. They are the “value stocks” of the tech stocks. They will likely continue to grow in 2022, as they are dominant players with their respective secular growth drivers.

While the undercurrent is the crash and bear market situation of the once high-flying high-value high-growth (HVHG) stocks, e.g. ZM SQ COIN UPST DOCU CRWD etc etc…or the so called Cathie Wood stocks. Folks wish a crash. They’ve got it already for HVHG stocks!

Conventional wisdom says that those high-value stock will suffer as interest starts to hike, as their future earnings will be greatly discounted. On the other side, Ark Invest’s Cathie Wood argues that innovation and hyper growth of those companies would make interest hike irrelevant or less impactful.

I tend to agree with her, particularly for those companies which have started to make money and have good net cashflow. You can guess that I am a bagholder of some of the counters. I plan to add positions when they reverse the slide. Remember they are now in bear market, different from the rest of the market.

What is your view for techs in 2022?

What plan do you have?

I bought Tencent and Alibaba this year. The income is very bad. This makes me worry about whether to buy a technology company next year.

In fact, I think these companies are very mature companies. Their share prices will be relatively stable and will not increase significantly.

MamaTan: Tan 陈 is the most popular surname in Singapore. T for TSLA, which deserves a seat at the mega tech table.

I think it's a reasonable choice to buy shares in large companies. At least they are safe and will not fall sharply.
