To The Moon

2022 has been a difficult year for most people including myself. As a long term investor, I am not too worried as most of my investments are in the US blue chip companies, which tends to perform well in the long run. 2022 shall just be another down year,posing a buying opportunity for long term investors!

$VOO(VOO)$ $QQQ(QQQ)$ $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ are 3 of my heaviest holdings and all of them are making losses. This year itself I am down more than 25%. No gains from anyother counters (Apple/ Google/ Microsoft/ Amazon)  

My most successful trade would be the purchase of OTM put option one day before Amazon's 3Q earnings. Greatest loss (paper) would be Tesla. I have learnt that high growth companies will suffer most in the high interest rate environment and it is worthtaking a punt once in a blue moon. 

At the point of writing, China casino counters suchas Wynn and MGM are performing extremely well due to the reopening of the economy (relaxation of covid policy). This is a cyclical trade worth keepingan eye on.

My investment plan for the upcoming year would remain the same. Add more quality names in this challenging time and be patient with the market. Quality names include Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, Amazon, VOO, QQQ. These are products and service that I foresee everyone will still be using 5-10 years downthe road. US economy never fail to perform in the long run. Time in market beats timing the market. Itis always easier to invest in a bear market. It has been tested and proven over the years. Keep calm my fellow investors!
