Microsoft vs Google in AI

I think the new version of Bing that Microsoft has just announced will show how powerful it is, not only because it is built from the powerful language model of ChatGPT, but also because it can be integrated with search engines, which makes it much more valuable. I think this is a huge step forward for Microsoft and the new version of Bing, because it makes it easier for users to search and to do more at the same time.

I've put together three basic things that Bing search can do. First of all, it can summarize one company's financial results and compare them to another company. This is very helpful for investors because they can quickly understand a company's financial situation without any specialized knowledge, and then make more informed investment decisions. Next, it can recommend products based on demand. This is very convenient for shoppers because they can find the products they want faster and can have a better shopping experience. Finally, it can help recommend travel itineraries, shopping lists, etc., as well as send emails for the user. This is a very useful feature because it allows users to arrange a complete travel itinerary without spending too much time.

On the other hand, Google Bard AI is Google's latest artificial intelligence tool, however, it only took up about 2 minutes of the 38-minute conference and has limited ability to simply answer questions and is not well integrated. With more focus on Google Maps at the launch event, Bard AI was nothing new to investors and consumers. What's more surprising is that some experts pointed out that the answers provided by Bard AI in the conference were wrong, which I think proves that Google launched Bard AI too hastily in response to Microsoft and finally caused the stock price to plummet nearly 9% at one point.

The recent Google financial report shows that advertising revenue is very poor, including search advertising fell 2.2%, online advertising also fell 9.1%. Microsoft's CEO made it clear in the press conference that the company is trying to compete with Google in the search engine market. Currently, Bing's market share is only 3%, but if it can grow 10% within a year, Microsoft may recover its investment in Open AI. In addition, ChatGPT has just reached the fastest ever record of 1 billion users, which is a very promising result, so Microsoft could grab 10% of the market share within a year.

However, I think Google's technology in the field of AI is also quite high, and it often publishes papers on the technology, so the competition still needs to be watched closely in the future. Whether Google can effectively use its own technology to launch more representative AI products to compete with Microsoft will be a key issue.

Microsoft will also have to fix issues with its AI programs. Google will fix the issues and be stronger than ever.
