Future of Tesla?
I would like to share my opinion on Elon Musk' management style on $Twitter(TWTR)$ in relation to $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$
First thing is that he is definitely adopting a style of Manager, who directs and tells people what to do. With the immediate layoffs and rules, he definitely wants to set things straight and get the company running.
Given how he sees Twitter as a failing business, he wants to set the direction right by making it profitable. He starts by setting a price to get a "blue tick" and setting a target for his employees, which is to aim for subscription revenue to be half of Twitter's revenue. This however, was later rescinded as he re-contemplated his decision.
He has directed that all employees must work at least 40 hours a week onsite to increase productivity.
Clearly, he does not believe that the company will remain profitable and this uses a "my way or the highway" management style and sets targets.
Given this, what does it mean for Tesla? Well, if a man who emphasizes on control so much is able to leave Tesla running with less of his control, my guess is that he has left Tesla in good control. This would mean clear systems are in place to run with his diminished attention.
In that aspect, for a man who is ruthless is attaining results, I think Tesla may continue to flourish in terms of management and business. That being said, I would opine that Elon would still come to make "checks" to ensure Tesla is still on course. He would probably still try to maintain objectives like full self drive and with his drive, Tesla would still be one of the first companies to achieve it.

- jllwang·2022-11-16Foolish too. He was the one who floated the idea of buying twitter in the first place, only to retract that later. Multiple rounds later, he was forced to keep to his words. Now all these ruthless actions.1Report
