2023 mid-year recap - Sushi price

Fresh Sushi are sold in the super market, in the morning, it is original price and it is 50% off in the evening after 8:00 pm if it has leftovers. It happens daily.

It's easy to guess, tomorrow night at 8:30pm , what's the Sushi price, tomorrow morning 8am, what is the Sushi price.

There's a similar cycle like Sushi price in the financial markets , it's Fed interest cycle.

Fed hikes interest, no risk assets yield is 5% now, all other assets price have to give discounts to match Fed interest yeild. For example, the Singapore REIT , all of them present 5-10% yield now.

I am not surprised that some US banks declared bankrupt because they placed too much cash on long term investment grade bond. unfortunately, all those bond prices dropped.

What assets are more like 8:00 pm Sushi now? They are investment grade bond, REIT and emerging markets stocks in my opinion.

You need to buy in and hold, wait for next 8:am. The problem is we don't know when Fed start to lower interest. I only can wait for it.

I have been all in position since the beginning of the year 2023.

I used graphics started from 01/01/2022.

I called this investment cycle 'Fed interest hike campaign'.

Year 2022, dividend income 7000SGD, Year 2023, dividend income estimated more than 12000SGD. Singapore dividend income is tax free.

I got profits gain but negative ROR, thank the power of dividend income.

I read some articles that said if interest rates continues to rise, it will affect REITS dividend.
Pls monitor your REITS dividend rate ok as its 25% of Yr portfolio (investment). Just saying....
