FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early Is More Than Just About Money!

🌟🌟🌟There is  new paradigm.  Ultimate Flex Is Freedom!  Time Freedom!  Location Freedom! Financial Freedom!  Freedom and Health are the new status symbols.  It used to be a Nice Car, a Nice House and a Degree!  That is passe or out of fashion.

FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early is more than just having lots of money.  It is more about how precious our time is, how little of it we have.    Life is not worth wasting away by working over 40 hours a week for the rest of our lives, just so we can have enough money to buy material possessions.

Once I realise this, I find that it is not too difficult to live on less and retire early.  

So I look at ways to reducing my living expenses, find ways to increase income, invest the difference and retire early. 

I had a hard look at my expenses and try to cut them down.  No more Starbucks Frappes!  More good old fashioned Nescafe.  Find the best ways to cut phone and utility bills.  Buy homebrands from supermarkets where possible.  

I reorder my material priorities and live well for less.  I resolve inner conflicts between values and lifestyles. 

I love passive income especially from dividends.  So I invest in ETFs and dividend paying stocks.  My favourite ETFs are plain vanilla ETFs like $SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 ETF(SPLG)$ which is a mini version of $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$  $SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Value ETF(SPYV)$ . 

Life is more than just work.  Life is freedom to spend more time with loved ones.  Life is freedom to travel and experience different cultures and cuisine.  Our time here on Planet Earth is finite!  So join me to embark on this wonderful journey called FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early!
