Wednesday’s trading session saw intense declines for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite, driven by disappointing quarterly reports from $Alphabet(GOOG)$ and $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$. The US stock market experienced a bloodbath on Wednesday, with tech and chip stocks particularly hard hit.

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ plunged over 12%, $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ dropped nearly 7%. $Broadcom(AVGO)$ , $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ , and $Qualcomm(QCOM)$ fell more than 6%. How much money did you lose in a day? We would like to invite you to share your trades!

    🌟🌟🌟Bear markets are a scary time for investors especially when I see a sea of red as the predominant colour.  But it is times like this that I buckle down and have a strong conviction on why I invest in order to achieve my goal of FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early. 

    One of the worst performing ETFs in my portfolio is $TRACKER FUND(02800)$ .  I am currently down 38% and that hurts.  However when I look to the future, I believe that the holdings in the Tracker Fund will not only survive but thrive.  

    $TENCENT(00700)$ 

    is the Top holding.  This fantastic conglomerate is the 2nd largest digital gaming company in the world and owns various businesses across video games, online advertising, social media, video and music subscriptions, fintech services and cloud software. 

    $Alibaba(09988)$  $Alibaba(BABA)$  is another wonderful conglomerate.  Apart from its ECommerce, Alibaba also owns several businesses such as Cainiao Smart Logistics, Cloud Intelligence Group, Taobao and TMall Group and many more. 

    $MEITUAN-W(03690)$  offers supply chain solutions, local transportation services, non food delivery services, micro loan business and integrated payment services. 

    The Tracker Fund also pays a half yearly dividend.  The current dividend yield is 3.9%.

    In investing, I believe that it is important to have a long term horizon in order for the magic of compounding to happen.  So while the markets maybe in the doldrums in the short term, they will certainly recover in the long term. 

    Volatility is the price I am willing to pay in order to achieve outsized gains in the long term.

    Post a picture of the loss here. Don’t know why my Tiger app not presenting the loss in the usual Tiger picture. $Intel(INTC)$ is a pain. Loss $$$. Intel is in steep competition with NVDA and AMD in AI chips. Hopefully moving into manufacturing can save it.
