We Are What We Eat

🌟🌟🌟The saying we are what we eat is a wise saying that our lifestyle and diet impact our health and well being.  It implies that if we eat healthy food, we will feel healthy.  However if we eat junk food, we will not feel as  healthy.

This phase gives me the impetus and determination to strive to eat healthily.  So my favourite way of eating in a healthy manner is to start my day with a smoothie.  I have a Ninja Blender which I will use every morning to prepare my smoothie. 

I vary my smoothie with Kale, Spinach and add Apple Cider Vinegar.  Plus some blueberries or banana,  apple or pear.   This is my morning drink which I have every day whether the weather is sunny or rainy. 

For lunch I vary it with sliced fish soup and rice or a bowl of prawn noodles soup if it is a rainy day.  I also like to eat salmon sushi and occasionally I will treat myself to some roast chicken or roast pork with crackling.  

Dinner is a simple affair with stir fry vegetables like Kang Kong or Kailan and some mains like steamed  fish and tofu.  Sometimes I may have curry dishes like butter chicken and fish head curry. 

Once a week my family and I will treat ourselves to a good meal at our favourite restaurant Penang Place.  My favourite dish there is Penang Laksa and Penang Fried Noodles.

I try to add fruits to all our meals and like to eat whatever fruits that are in season.  These can be papaya, banana, mango, durian, apple and oranges. 

I tend to cook more at home rather than going out as it is healthier and more economical to eat at home.  

However whenever I travel,  I like to splurge by trying out the local cuisine wherever I go. 

We are what we eat.  Therefore it is my intention to eat as healthily as possible so that my future self will thank me.  To eat healthily is to hopefully extend our life span so that we can live well in our sunset years.
