Why I Choose To Invest Through SRS

🌟🌟🌟The biggest benefit of investing through SRS is simple: I get rewarded today for planning for tomorrow.  Every dollar I contribute to SRS lowers my taxable income. It is like the government is giving me a polite pat on the back and saying "Good job thinking ahead".  Cash doesn't do that.  Cash just sits there, quietly depreciating and pretending it is helping.

But SRS?  It gives me instant tax savings and then lets me grow that money through investments instead of letting inflation nibble at it.

And the best part?

I can invest my SRS funds directly through Tiger Brokers.  No queues.  No drama.  Just tap, buy, done.

My Top SRS ETFs

Once money is inside SRS, the real magic happens when I put it to work in the right places:

SPDR STI ETF: $STI ETF(ES3.SI)$  is my Singapore Anchor.  It holds our top 30 blue chip companies - our 3 big banks, Singtel, SReits and industrials like ST Engineering, Keppel.  STI ETF is the steady, dividend paying machine of the Singapore market.  Perfect for stability and long term compounding.

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SGX listed): $SPDR S&P500 US$(S27.SI)$ This is my global growth engine.  It gives me exposure to the world's most innovative companies - tech, healthcare, consumer giants -all wrapped up in 1 powerful ETF.  It also includes the Magnificent 7 who are leaders in their field: from Nvidia, Google, Apple to Amazon and Meta Platform.  This ETF is my long term powerhouse that keeps compounding even when the world gets noisy.

Hang Seng Tech ETF: $Lion-OCBC Sec HSTECH S$(HST.SI)$ This is my high growth, high volatility bet.  This captures China's tech giants - cloud, e-commerce, AI , fintech. When China rebounds, this is the one that tends to move the fastest.

The top 10 holdings include Xiaomi, NetEase, Tencent Holdings , Alibaba Group, Meituan, BYD, JD.com, SMIC, Kuaishou Technology and Li Auto.

Lion Phillips SReit ETF $LION-PHILLIP S-REIT(CLR.SI)$  is my income generator.  Pure Singapore REIT exposure -retail, industrial, data centres and logistics.

CLR 's top holdings include Mapletree Logistics Trust, Mapletree Industrial Trust, Capitaland Ascendas Reit, Capitaland Integrated Commercial Trust, Keppel DC REIT,  Frasers Logistics &Commercial Trust, Frasers Centrepoint Trust, Suntec REIT and Keppel Reit.

These are the strongest most established SReits in logistics , industrial , commercial , data centres and retail.

The current dividend yield of this ETF is 5.4%.

SPDR Gold Shares$GLD SG$(GSD.SI)$ is my hedge against geopolitical tensions and chaos.  GSD is the Singapore listed version of the world's largest and most liquid Gold ETF.  It is simple, transparent and built for long term wealth protection.  That is why it fits so beautifully inside SRS.

If I Had To Choose The One SRS ETF I Am Most Bullish On?

It is GSD - SPDR Gold ETF.

Gold has been resilient, steady and quietly powerful.  It thrives in uncertainty, protects purchasing power and balances out the volatility of equities.  Inside a long term account like SRS, it is my quiet warrior, always ready when markets get dramatic.

The Heart Of It All

The beauty of SRS investing is that I get my tax savings today and long term compounding tomorrow.  I can invest it all through my Tiger Brokers' account in my favourite SGX ETFs.  Cash sits still.  SRS grows.
