$iShares 0-3 Month Treasury Bond ETF(SGOV)$

🌟🌟🌟I buy SGOV because it behaves like a "cash plus" instrument.  It tracks the ICE 0 to 3 months Treasury Securities Index, investing only in Treasury Bills that mature within 90 days.  SGOV also has a low expense ratio of 0.09% & has high liquidity, making it easy to buy and sell.  SGOV  pays dividends every month.  The current dividend yield is 4%.  It goes ex dividend on March 2 2026.  Ka-ching!😍😍😍🌈🌈🌈💰💰💰

how you monitor the drop? as in how u identify the day or date when the price drops??
    • AlihuatReplykoolgal
how u note the buy before March 1 versus buy after March 2
    • Alihuat
thanksnfor sharing... but how to see when is the ex div?
    • koolgal
But if you want the dividend, then you have to buy by March 1.
    • koolgal
So if you want to pay less, buy after ex dividend date on March 2.
    • koolgal
That is what usually happens as the ETF pays the dividends.

Are there withholding tax for This? Or do they refund the tax to us? Tks
    • koolgalReplyDanTEOHH
Non US citizens cannot buy US treasury bills directly from the US government as they require a US Social Security Number, address of record and US based bank account .
    • DanTEOHHReplykoolgal
How Do I do that? Tks
    • koolgalReplyDanTEOHH
If you buy US Treasuries directly , then no withholding tax.
    • koolgalReplyDanTEOHH
      Unfortunately SGOV is an ETF.
    • koolgalReplyDanTEOHH
The IRS classifies this as a US sourced income, so the 30% Withholding Tax applies.

is it subject to withholding tax?
    • KJ11Replykoolgal
oh..if need to pay 30% WHT, 4% = 2.8% only, why not just put it in USD money market fund which still gives 3.5%+? and don't need to do any brokerage buy sell also..
    • koolgal
Like all US stocks, bonds and ETFs, there is a 30% withholding tax.
    • koolgal
      Yes it is .
