The President of the Society of Remisiers in Singapore wrote an open letter to Business Times to urge the regulators to regulate.
How much worse can it get for a stock market that is shrinking amidst claims that Singapore is a significant "global financial centre"?
According to the letter: 84 of 680 listed companies have been suspended or are classified as inactive.
That's 12% of all listed stocks. Why allow them to remain listed?
Anyone awake in SGX?

Singapore is a world class financial centre. It is economically and financially stable. Singapore is safe and most importantly we have an excellent stable government.
$SINGAPORE EXCHANGE LIMITED(S68.SI)$ regulates and control the stock exchange in Singapore. It is innovative and recently allow SPAC listings to help stimulate the stock market. This is the first country in Asia to do so.
SGX is also home to many Singapore Reits like $ASCENDAS REAL ESTATE INV TRUST(A17U.SI)$ , $MAPLETREE INDUSTRIAL TRUST(ME8U.SI)$ and $CapitaLandInves(9CI.SI)$ .
We also have the 3 Singapore banks which is very much the backbone of the STI Index.
So while Singapore maybe a tiny island in Asia, it is dynamic and has lots of room to grow exponentially in future. As a Singaporean, I am proud of our country and grateful to be living here. The SGX will continue to evolve and grow with an excellent management team.
