$Unity Software Inc.(U)$ Many game companies take a 'right tool for the job' approach. They will use Unity for one game and Unreal for another. if their work schedule happens to change that year depending on the type of game they are working on, then the revenue they get from the product they are making through Unity may drop below 100k, even though they are still using Unity. so software has cycles too.

Still hv risk in Schwab

$Charles Schwab(SCHW)$ I don't think most people go far enough in describing the case for shorting. Schwab is "economically" (not legally, Tier 1 or GAAP) undercapitalized as of December 31. They have lost more money in securities than they have made in the last 3 years. Also, a simple calculation of $300 billion in deposits, how much less would they have made if interest rates on those deposits had risen by 1% or 2%? Despite the fact that they are market leaders, the risk is not zero.

$Alphabet(GOOG)$ A large language model such as ChatGPT is very expensive to run. Not only does it have to retrieve information, but it also has to synthesize responses to searches. In their current state, such searches will eat into the profits of those who use them.Google has incredible in-house talent in artificial intelligence and, more importantly, in optimizing the massive computational costs of supporting search. I don't think it's appropriate to be negative about the future of Google.

$Silvergate Capital(SI)$ I suspect that Silvergate is trading well below its liquidation value, probably $7-10. The volume of short selling likely caused it to drop below that number, although there is a huge range in its liquidation value due to its high leverage at the end of the quarter. That said, most long-term bond securities have held their value since the end of the year, suggesting that their equity value should be stable as they enter liquidation.

$Snowflake(SNOW)$ They reported revenues of just under $2 billion in their earnings report. They will need to achieve an annual growth rate of about 31% over the next six years. But even if they succeed, even if you give them a 10x sales multiple in 2030 (which is a stretch considering most established tech companies are 4-7x), the company will be worth twice as much as it is now, and I haven't even factored in dilution. In a recession or downturn, analyzing customer data for insights is a discretionary expense, just like advertising. This may also help explain the revenue slowdown.

$Faraday Future(FFIE)$  Investors almost universally recognise that electric vehicles are the future, it's just a matter of timing and investment paths.FF is not a newcomer to the market and is facing the same issues that all electric car companies face.Meanwhile, amidst these challenges, FF is nearing completion of a state-of-the-art US manufacturing plant in a state that has publicly announced the end of gasoline car sales. with three models to meet the needs of a range of buyers, FF is poised to finish in the marketplace.

$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ It sounds like metadata is dead and AI is the new future. I'm really curious to see how META explains this internally. I mean, you're just going to have to settle the bill on how many billion dollars of blunders. But I know you can move to AI, it's so easy, right? I kind of feel like there's a lot of volatility here.

Ready for unstoppable pullback

$Shopify Inc(SHOP)$ The recession is not here yet, but all indicators point to it coming. The lower and middle classes in the US are reportedly close to running out of savings, which will first hit car loans, then credit cards and then a whole slew of others. There is no doubt that the war with Russia, headlines of layoffs, Fed rate hikes and inflation still moving higher will eventually affect the US economy. Cross-border e-commerce is very sensitive in the face of geopolitical issues. And the supply chain and quality control in Southeast Asia are not yet very mature.I do see a 20-25% correction in the broad indices in '23 which will affect most stocks with very few exceptions. shopify could easily reach the $25-30

$Stitch Fix Inc.(SFIX)$ The problem is that SFIX has so far not come to grips with the saturation of its 'core' market, which is the over-zealous millennial women's fashion market. The way forward seems to be: meet the growth spike - dial down operating costs for the revenue plateau - and then start focusing on return of capital to shareholders once there is no more reduction to be made. It is no longer a growth story, and it is not clear that it will have solid profits that reflect a moat. The company is forecasting lower revenues in 2023. By the logic just outlined, this just means that Fix is shrinking faster and faster.

$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$  Even a company like Intel with all the equipment available today can't match the expertise of TSM ...... Not sure how you think those semiconductor producers could replace TSM in the event of a crisis. the production lines and technology are a unique advantage and a strong moat. I think too many people don't seem to understand this right now.

Coinbase operates in a volatile industry fraught with regulatory uncertainty. But cryptocurrency bulls should still think twice before selling the stock. Coinbase has proved its ability to survive enormous setbacks, and its brand authority should keep it at the forefront of the industry. $Coinbase Global, Inc.(COIN)$

Things unlike Wells Fargo

Remember that a Bank like Wells Fargo can save $350 million in taxes first year so they are getting this bank for a net of $50 million! Silvergate cannot announce any offers unless they are concrete and ready to be accepted, but I would not short this stock any more at $1.50. The upside risk is much larger than downside. It is amazing how you get insight by talking to employees of Silvergate who have lost their jobs or are soon going too.$Silvergate Capital(SI)$

Coming risk over the great company

$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$  TSMC has already established facilities in the US and Japan. At this point, TSMC's intellectual property and capital lead is almost insurmountable by anyone. The company is on its way to becoming an American entity. At the same time, TSMC's risk is a market-wide risk. It is, by far, the most important company in the world. If TSMC's operations were disrupted, the impact on the world economy would be catastrophic. Every company would be hit. Unless you short it, there will be no escape.

NIM stress

$PacWest Bancorp(PACW)$ Their 10K states: "For purposes of the consolidated statements of cash flows, cash and cash equivalents consist of: (1) cash and due from banks, (2) interest‑earning deposits in financial institutions, and (3) securities purchased under resale agreements. Interest‑earning deposits in financial institutions represent mostly cash held at the FRBSF, the majority of which is immediately available."It would make sense to hold it in reserves get interest offset. Which is a on cash drag, but doesnt address NIM pressure from lost deposits.

$Bilibili Inc.(BILI)$ I still think most Western investors completely underestimate the importance of BILI to young Chinese people and its popularity in China. Studies show that young Chinese people actually spend several hours a day on BILI. However, it is still unprofitable and how do you rate a business that you spend 50% of your leisure time on? This is definitely a buy-and-hold stock.

$Lucid Group Inc(LCID)$  Remember, Tesla was up and running for 17 years before it made any profit. Lucid is irrelevant compared to Tesla because it is aimed at Porsche, M-B, etc. Saudi Arabia may be considering an "indigenous" car, particularly suited to the Gulf and wealthy Muslim, Asian markets. They may employ the best international talent to try and overcome the "problems".

I really think there's something to learn from this company lol. They are fighting a battle to gain market share, and have no real IP other than Larry. To counter that, they are doing a live streaming competition to pick the best live streamer for the audience. Apparently it's their third one. No position, no age, no gender limits, all can apply! China is in a pretty poor position for youth employment - so it's an opportune time to recruit! I'm sure some diamonds are just lying flat waiting for their liu bei to knock on their doors 3 times! $高途(GOTU)$

$Riot Blockchain, Inc.(RIOT)$ The smallish good news here, is that it averaged $29,333 per coin, on the 600 coins it had to sell to keep the shop running — but as the article indicates, that’s 8% fewer mined overall, than last month. The bad news is… it is bleeding cash, even when it (as now) generates revenue of ~ $17 million in a month. Its cash burn now nearly doubles that on a month to month basis, according to my models.
