Dividend vs Growth, which one is better?

Disclaimer: Whatever I say or post doesn't act as financial advice, so please do your due diligence before making any decision. Dividend focus or growth focus? I think this is a common question that most investors will have when they start their investment journey, or when they rebalance their portfolio. This a a dilemma for me till today as well, should I even consider to include the stock in my portfolio if it does not pay dividends? I will break down my thoughts about this in the following segments. 1. Dividends Are Not a Guarantee of Quality A dividend payout doesn’t automatically make a stock superior. Intel (INTC) is a great example of how even a long-standing dividend aristocrat can face challenges due to competitive pressures, technological shifts, or mismanagement. Dividends can s

Managing losses is as important as earnings!

Disclaimer: Nothing I say or post should be considered financial advice. Please do your own due diligence before making any investment decisions. Hi readers! Today I am going to touch on the topic of managing losses in trading. Yes I know, nobody likes to mention about how much they lose in trading. Everyone likes to post and share about their attractive ROI, their earnings from trading. However, have you wondered how much they do lose before they achieve the highs? Majority of individual investors are focus on shooting for the moon, gunning for that golden goose of profit, often not realizing that they are undertaking an enormous amount of risk at the same time. And when their trade goes wrong, they struggle to manage their losses, both financially and mentally. If you rinse and repeat th

Costco missed earnings expectations and paid the price.

Disclaimer: Whatever I say or post doesn't act as financial advice, so please do your due diligence before making any decision. On March 6, 2025, Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ: COST) released its fiscal second-quarter earnings report for February 16, 2025. The company reported net sales of $63.72 billion, a 9% year-over-year increase, surpassing analyst expectations. However, earnings per share (EPS) came in at $4.02, slightly missing the projected $4.09. Key highlights from the report include: Same-Store Sales Growth: Increased by 6.8%, exceeding forecasts. E-commerce Performance: Experienced a significant growth of 20.9%. Membership Fee Revenue: Rose by 7% year-over-year to $1.19 billion, attributed to the membership fee hike introduced in September 2024. Despite the revenue growt

Sold PLTR put spread

Disclaimer: Nothing I say or post should be considered financial advice. Please do your own due diligence before making any investment decisions. Took a trade on PLTR today after noticing a strong buy signal supported by solid volume. I’m still bullish on the overall sentiment surrounding the company despite the elevated P/E ratio and aggressive forward estimates. With the number of government contracts they've secured and how well the company aligns with the current U.S. political and defense outlook, I don't see why PLTR can't retest previous highs or potentially break into new highs over time. That said, I may be early on the bullish thesis, so I wanted to structure the trade with risk in mind. Opened a 05 June 120/118 put credit spread for a $0.40 credit — targeting roughly a 20% ROI o

Market continue positive gains, but for how long?

Disclaimer: Nothing I say or post should be considered financial advice. Please do your own due diligence before making any investment decisions. Market opened today with extended bullishness from last Thursday d/t Trump announcement of a peace deal with Iran “done” and it will be signed on Sunday. However, it has since been delayed to Wednesday, in line with FOMC rate announcement. This shift has got me thinking, what is this manipulator planning up his sleeves again? So I am holding back my bullets on the tech sector and see how it plays out on Wednesday. The bullishness in the stock market might be because of the continued positive outlook on SPCX since its debut on Friday. Pretty surprised that it still maintained its high level into today. But I will wait for the day that SPY or QQQ a

$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$   I personally dont trade earnings call. But as you can see on my chart, it's indecisive. So I will take an air of caution and hold off till market open tomorrow, after the earnings call.  I rather miss out then lose out. Strap in, the rocket is about to launch and explode!

Disclaimer: Nothing I say or post should be considered financial advice. Please do your own due diligence before making any investment decisions. Today is the day. The IPO with the highest valuation in history, SpaceX. How many rockets you would need to produce and sell to justify a 2 Trillion valuation? You tell me. I am just going to prepare my popcorn and watch it literally exploding later on the sidelines. @pawsandprofits - Specialist in combining FA and TA for options selling and swing trading.[举爪]

As I predicted, technology stocks were running up a tad too fast, leading to a boiling point. Now its undergoing a minor correction.  My sell Call spreads are all safe now. Phew! It was a positive end to the week. Onwards to the next one!  [Cool]  [Miser]  [Heart]

After the SpaceX hype, now focus shift to the FOMC meeting.

Disclaimer: Nothing I say or post should be considered financial advice. Please do your own due diligence before making any investment decisions. So right after the release of highest valuated IPO in history for SPCX, the focus shift towards the FOMC meeting and rate announcement on Monday. It is going to be the first annnouncement done by new fed chair Kevin Marsh. With CPI and PPI numbers higher than market estimates, logically speaking it should pressure the fed to cut rate. However, with Kevin Marsh being new to this role, does he want to shake the boat on his first fed meeting? This stock market has spring up plenty of surprises, so I would not be surprised if he choose to maintain rate or even increase rate. Nothing is logical anymore in this stock market led by Trump. @PawsAndProfit

Disclaimer: Whatever I say or post doesn't act as financial advice, so please do your due diligence before making any decision. I personally think that there is still bearishness in the market, looking at the tremendous challenges that the trump/republican administration has to overcome. So I will take a precautionary bullish sentiment till the inauguration day.  Taking into account the unstable mental space of trump, I will not take a firm stand on a definite santa rally.
