If you cover a short at price $X and immediately short it at the same price $X, the effect is net neutral on the stock... even though it cost the HF a bunch of money to cover from their previous underwater short. $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$My 2 cents.AMC has been in a consolidation period since last Tuesdays big run up. As the symmetrical triangle comes to a close the price will break out up or potentially down. Tomorrow looks like it will be a down day until we bounce off the support level. IF we get a good bounce off the support we could break out up to the next level. A break out is typically the length of the flag pole, which should take the price up to around 88-90 dollar range. This is what big money will be waiting to see before they buy in. However the price soar will not happen immediately and volatility may persist due to the current market condition (inflation, recession, FED rate hike, short term sentiment etc).   The next question is when will the stock price goes up?
