Imagine what SOS could be doing with this extra cash - acquiring more rigs, acquiring an established US blockchain company etc etc, any of the options will end up positive to SOS. Besides the fund company who bought it at $5 will not be buying at this price if they do not believe it is worth lesser than that!

Big players (not only hedge funds who are shorting) are manipulating retail investors by driving prices up, once it hit a peak, they sell in huge blocks which trigger stop losses of retail investors. Once that happened, all they have to do is to buy back these shares cheap - rinse and repeat. Retail investors are the losers here.
