— There are questions about the future of retail, but French luxury goods giant LVMH has no doubt what it will look like.\n\"We see the future being two things: being mostly retail stores, because the client experience in a retail store cannot be matched easily online. As of today, I mean, no one has found the sort of miracle formula that would enable clients to enjoy as much online,\" Jean Jacques Guiony, chief financial officer at LVMH, told CNBC on Monday.\n\"The second point is also to enrich this experience with online content,\" he added.\nThe coronavirus pandemic, and subsequent stay-at-home orders, has led to a significant surge in online shopping and forced many retailers to develop their online offerings at a much faster pace. This dynamic has in turn challenged the need for physical stores.\nHowever, for LVMH, one of the world's biggest luxury brands, the online offering is just \"a complement to the physical experience.\"\nGuiony said that most customers who visit in store had previously checked the website and could have bought the items they wanted there.\n\"They get a lot of information, but they come to the store because the store experience is something that cannot be matched on the internet,\" he told CNBC's Charlotte Reed.\nTiffany &amp; Co. in Vienna, Austria at the most prestigious shopping zone in downtown Wien also called the Golden U at Kohlmarkt street Strasse.Nicolas Economou | NurPhoto | Getty Images\nLVMH reported a 17% drop in revenues in 2020 compared to the previous year. The first list of stocks are equities with a combination of strong productivity and efficacy of spending. The second screen are stocks that center around earnings quality, measured by consistent free cash flow.\nGoldman then added a valuation overlay to both these screens. Take a look at the lists of stocks here.\nAsset productivity\nThis list of stocks are buy-rated names that offer a combination of strong and improving gross profitability, solid cash returns on cash invested and fair valuations.\n“We look for companies that despite the pandemic-related headwinds, maintained their Gross Profits/Total Assets in the top half of their respective sectors (Quartile 1 or 2) throughout 2019-2022E, and are set to expand/stay stable in 2022E vs. 2019 on our analysts’ estimates,” said Mehta.\nAll the listed stocks have improving gross profit as a percent of total assets, improving cash return on capital invested and attractive valuations compared to history.\n\nDeere & Co.,Lowe’s,Advanced Micro Devices,Boston Beer and Procter & Gamble all make Goldman’s first quality screen.\n“New ag equipment share of capex is in the early stages of recovering off trough following a sharp destock in used ag equipment inventory,” said Goldman equity analyst Jerry Revich.\nGoldman equity analyst Kate McShane said she is looking for Lowe’s’ margins to expand as the company manages costs and increases productivity.\n“Traffic and ticket growth have been consistently strong throughout the pandemic and continued successful initiatives with the ‘Pro’ customers should increase the likelihood of market share gains,” said McShane.\nImproving free cash flow\nThe next screen includes stocks that have a good track record of free cash flow conversion, plus attractive and growing free cash flow yields, said Goldman.\n“We view companies with the ability to convert accounting net earnings into Free Cash Flow (FCF) cash as well positioned. However, these names are typically riskier and more volatile than the average stock.\nAdam Parker, former Morgan Stanley chief U.S. equity strategist and founder of Trivariate Research, said the time is right to buy growth shares, but investors should be cautious of a few.\n“We think that portfolio managers should be buying growth stocks again, focusing on positive free cash flow and margin expansion, not earnings-based valuation,” Parker said in a note released Wednesday.\nTrivariate Research used a number of criteria to identify risky stocks, including low or negative correlation to inflation, high correlation to the economic reopening and high levels of company insiders selling their shares. be down 2,000 points,\" said Thomas Hayes, chairman and managing member at hedge fund Great Hill Capital LLC.</p><p>Paul Nolte, portfolio manager at Kingsview Investment Management in Chicago, said when a proposal is floated about raising taxes or capital gains, everybody gets excited, sells first and asks questions later.</p><p>\"It is more of a short-term, knee-jerk reaction,\" he Isn’t it possible that the currentfailure to distinguishbetweeninvestment and speculationmay do grave harm not only to individuals but to the whole financial community—as it did in the late 1920s?”</p>\n<p>Graham wasn’t a snob who thought that the markets should be the exclusive playground of the rich. He wrote “The Intelligent Investor” with the express purpose of helping less-wealthy people participate wisely in the stock market.</p>\n<p>In that book, after which this column is named, Graham said, “Outright speculation is neither illegal, immoral, nor (for most people) fattening to the pocketbook.”</p>\n<p>However, he warned, it creates three dangers: “(1) speculating when you think you are investing; (2) speculating seriously instead of as a pastime, when you lack proper knowledge and skill for it; and (3) risking more money in speculation than you can afford to lose.”</p>\n<p>Most investors speculate a bit every once in a while. Like a lottery ticket or an occasional visit to the racetrack or casino, a little is harmless fun. A lot isn’t.</p>\n<p>If you think you’re investing when you’re speculating, you’ll attribute even momentary success to skill even thoughluck is the likeliest explanation. That can lead you to take reckless risks.</p>\n<p>Take speculating too seriously, and it turns intoan obsessionandan addiction. There’s no way the Journal would say a recreational gambler is “investing” at the racetrack just because a dictionary says we can.</p>\n<p>Calling novice speculators “investors” is one of the most powerful ways marketers fuel excessive trading.</p>\n<p>Ina recent Instagram post, a former porn star who goes by the name Lana Rhoades posed in—well, mostly in—a bikini, as she held up what appears to be Graham’s “The Intelligent Investor.” According to IMDb.com, she starred in such videos as “Tushy” and “Make Me Meow.”</p>\n<p>In her post, which was “liked” by nearly 1.8 million people, Ms. Rhoades announced that she will be promoting a cryptocurrency calledPAWGcoin.</p>\n<p>The currency’s website says the coin is meant for “those who pay homage to developed posteriors.” (PAWG, I’ve been reliably informed, stands for Phat Ass White Girl.)</p>\n<p>PAWGcoin is up roughly 900% since Ms. Rhoades began promoting it in early June, according to Poocoin.io, a website that tracks such digital currencies.</p>\n<p>Ms. Rhoades, who has tweeted “I also read the WSJ every morning,” couldn’t be reached for comment. PAWGcoin’s website encourages visitors to “invest now.”</p>\n<p>In Ms. Rhoades’s Instagram post, she is holding up an open copy of the “The Intelligent Investor,” whose cover is reversed.
