As of today, I mean, no one has found the sort of miracle formula that would enable clients to enjoy as much online,\" Jean Jacques Guiony, chief financial officer at LVMH, told CNBC on Monday.\n\"The second point is also to enrich this experience with online content,\" he added.\nThe coronavirus pandemic, and subsequent stay-at-home orders, has led to a significant surge in online shopping and forced many retailers to develop their online offerings at a much faster pace. The first list of stocks are equities with a combination of strong productivity and efficacy of spending. The second screen are stocks that center around earnings quality, measured by consistent free cash flow.\nGoldman then added a valuation overlay to both these screens. Take a look at the lists of stocks here.\nAsset productivity\nThis list of stocks are buy-rated names that offer a combination of strong and improving gross profitability, solid cash returns on cash invested and fair valuations.\n“We look for companies that despite the pandemic-related headwinds, maintained their Gross Profits/Total Assets in the top half of their respective sectors (Quartile 1 or 2) throughout 2019-2022E, and are set to expand/stay stable in 2022E vs. 2019 on our analysts’ estimates,” said Mehta.\nAll the listed stocks have improving gross profit as a percent of total assets, improving cash return on capital invested and attractive valuations compared to history.\n\nDeere & Co.,Lowe’s,Advanced Micro Devices,Boston Beer and Procter & Gamble all make Goldman’s first quality screen.\n“New ag equipment share of capex is in the early stages of recovering off trough following a sharp destock in used ag equipment inventory,” said Goldman equity analyst Jerry Revich.\nGoldman equity analyst Kate McShane said she is looking for Lowe’s’ margins to expand as the company manages costs and increases productivity.\n“Traffic and ticket growth have been consistently strong throughout the pandemic and continued successful initiatives with the ‘Pro’ customers should increase the likelihood of market share gains,” said McShane.\nImproving free cash flow\nThe next screen includes stocks that have a good track record of free cash flow conversion, plus attractive and growing free cash flow yields, said Goldman.\n“We view companies with the ability to convert accounting net earnings into Free Cash Flow (FCF) cash as well positioned. Biden planned to almost double the capital gains tax, news analysts said provided an excuse to take profits in a directionless market ahead of big tech's earnings next week.</p><p>The three main indexes on Wall Street also fell on reports that Biden planned to raise income taxes on the wealthy, a proposal some said would be hard to pass in Congress.</p><p>\"If it had a chance of passing, we'd be down 2,000 points,\" said Thomas Hayes, chairman and managing member at hedge fund Great Hill Capital LLC.</p><p>Paul Nolte, portfolio manager at Kingsview Investment Management in Chicago, said when a proposal is floated about raising taxes or capital gains, everybody gets excited, sells first and asks questions later.</p><p>\"It is more of a short-term, knee-jerk reaction,\" he said.</p><p>Biden will propose raising the marginal income tax rate to 39.6% from 37% and nearly double capital gains taxes to 39.6% for people earning more than $1 million, sources told Reuters.</p><p>The proposal targets about $1 trillion for child care, universal pre-kindergarten education and paid leave for workers, the sources said.</p><p>Markets have been listless after the Dow    and S&amp;P 500&nbsp;scaled all-time peaks last week as investors await guidance from Microsoft Corp   , Google parent Alphabet Inc    and <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/FB\">Facebook</a> Inc    when they report earnings next week.</p><p>\"Until we get out of this information vacuum the market is going to be generally directionless,\" he said. \"All that really matters moving forward is what are those big tech earnings next week?\"</p><p>During the session, the S&amp;P 500 healthcare sector hit a fresh record high while industrials were the biggest gainers.</p><p>American Airlines Group Inc and Southwest Airlines Co    reported smaller-than-expected quarterly losses, signaling a revival in travel demand. A speculator counts on external sources of return: primarilywhether somebody else will pay more, regardless of fundamental value.</p>\n<p>The word investor comes from the Latin “investire,” to dress in or clothe oneself, surround or envelop. You would never wear clothes without knowing what color they are or what material they’re made of. Likewise, you can’t invest in an asset you know nothing about.</p>\n<p>Nevertheless, the Journal and its editors have long called almost everybody who buys just about anything an “investor.” On July 12, 1962, the Journal publisheda letter to the editorfrom Benjamin Graham, author of the classic books “Security Analysis” and “The Intelligent Investor.” That June, complained Graham, the Journal had run an article headlined “Many Small Investors Bet on Further Drops, Sell Odd Lots Short.”</p>\n<p>He wrote: “By what definition of ‘investment’ can one give the name ‘investors’ to small people who make bets on the stock market by selling odd lots short?” (To short an odd lot is to borrow and sell fewer than 100 shares in a wager that a stock will fall—an expensive and risky bet, then and now.)</p>\n<p>“If these people are investors,” asked Graham, “how should one define ‘speculation’ and ‘speculators’? Isn’t it possible that the currentfailure to distinguishbetweeninvestment and speculationmay do grave harm not only to individuals but to the whole financial community—as it did in the late 1920s?”</p>\n<p>Graham wasn’t a snob who thought that the markets should be the exclusive playground of the rich.
