$SPX 20240517 5105.0 PUT$  My worst one day loss  A very good event for me to keep staying alert
$DBS Group Holdings(D05.SI)$   Super good bank stock to hold on to
$SIA(C6L.SI)$   Will I still continue to buy SIA? I just load up more in SIA recently. After the accident before Vesak Day, I do think the SIA share price may drop a lot, but it only dropped like $0.10 I proved that SIA brand name is good and safety wise is world best. UnfortunateLu though 2 pax may have passed on.  The professionalism by SIA team is superb.
$DBS Group Holdings(D05.SI)$   Always in support of our local banks, especially DBS
Someone posted a question lately. Should we hold on to our losing stocks and sell away our winning stocks? I am having the same mentality as most investors. I will not sell away my losing stocks easily but will sell away my winning stocks once I have made around 5% to 10%. I started to question myself and this is my personal opinion only: 1. Look at Nvidia. When the price reached $500 per share last year, my colleague asked if he should sell. I told him he could take the profits already. Low and behold, it broke $1000 and reached to $1200 before stock split. We really have to look at the fundamentals of stocks before making decisions to sell or not. Nvidia is a market leader in GPU currently. Most companies which wanted to provide AI services have to buy from Nvidia. Once the monopoly of N
$SIA(C6L.SI)$   With year end coming. SIA should be flying high again. Will keep adding more to this stock

When to sell your shares? My friends and I discussed this during the National Day period. Most suggest to sell thebest stocks they are holding and keep the worst performing ones. Others suggest to cut losses and keep the best performing ones.I treat this similar to a job.If I am a boss, will I let go of my best staff ifhis salary reaches 20% of his original pay? And I continue to keep the worst performingstaff just because their salaries are the lowest? For me. I rather sell off the worst performingshares I am currently holding to cut losses. For stocks posting gains repeatedly is due to their own strategies for the next 5 to 10 years.

Why 3x ETFs Are Riskier Than You Might ThinkMy friend introduced me to the item of 3x ETF. A good read by InvestopediaBy JOHN EDWARDS Updated April 03, 2022Reviewed by ANDY SMITHLeverage involves borrowing in order to amplify the returns of an investment. This means that potential gains, but also losses, can be increased. A common form of leveraged stock investing involves buying on margin. However, there are also ETF products that already come with leverage built-in, seeking 2x or 3x the returns of the index or sector that they track.Investors face substantial risks with all leveraged investment vehicles. However, 3x exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are especially risky because they utilize more leverage in an attempt to achieve higher returns. Leveraged ETFs may be useful for short-term trad

Investment using ESG criteriaWhy is more companies using ESG criteria?ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance.Global warming is creating more environmental issues worldwide now. Without taking care of our environments, we will either need more money from Government to make good whatever we have not done so good in the past. It is more costly also. Start immediately so that more generations after us can continue to enjoy the fruits of our Mother Earth Social. More companies are embarking on Corporate social Responsibility activities to help the less needy. This is good for the companies as it encourages more of its staff to help to continue to serve the community should there be a need somewhere else. It also helps the companies to gain awareness.Governance is always a prob

This can be the deadliest mistakes as I am putting my emotions into play. Just for illustration. I choose construction companies. What can I do now?Look around my house or my workplace to see if there are construction sites. If there are, check out the names of the constructions. Then go and check on internet or S

Which one should they choose? Normally I will just suggest stocks for a start. A lay person like me will use simple ways to invest. -ZOOMZero in on few areas of interest. Saving money is really important Many people all want to make investment gains. They want to make a lot of money.  Next question I asked is how much they have invested. They will say $10,000 to $20,000over the last 5 years or so. Then they will tell me no money.  What is the real reason for no money to invest? Cos they do not believe in setting aside money regularly so that we can continue to invest in the long term. I have great fun in reading this book "The Psychology of Money" there are so many ideasabout money.  Please start to save regularly. Once the money is there, your next problem will then be toinvest in which stock.
$SPXW 20240724 5565.0 PUT$  Long time nvr made money  Finally made small gains
Fed has made clear very well already. If inflation rate never dropped below 3%, interest rate will remain clearly on track not to be reduced in the near term.  In my view, the earliest sign of rate cut is in September 2024. Else, it will happen next year in 2025 already.  When I invest, I look for longer term view instead of short term focus. Whether interest rates go up or down, the most important point is whether the companies I am investing in are making money. I will always stay invested for the longer term  Happy investing

Setting goals towards financial freedom Was chatting with my colleague on Friday. He told me that he wanted to achieve financial freedom. I asked him further on his plans. He did not have any. I was not surprised by his answers. Cos I have too many friends and colleagues having the same thinking. What exactly are they lacking in? I want to know better so that I can better advise them in future.Typical answers I got:1. I do not know how to start.2. I need to read and study.3. I do not have the cash4. I am afraid of losing money 5. I do not interest in investing6. Etc, etcI will then share with them on my goal settings:My end point is say $5,000 per month of passive income by 62 years old. It means $60,000 per year. Say I want to find an investment that gives me 5% dividend yie
