//@koolgal:Inflation is now 9.1%, the highest in more than 40 years! It is almost certain that the Feds will be hawkish and raise interest rates. The financial gurus say at least 75 BP or even 100bp. The US markets closed lower today on this negative news. High inflation is like a fire out of control. Interest rate rises is like pouring water over the fire. Hopefully rising interest rate will dampen the spread of fire but not put it out completely. That will be recession! Companies will have to pay higher interest rates for their debts which will impact their profitability. So as an investor, I will seek quality companies in non cyclical industries which will be less volatil

It has caused unnecessary loss of lives and untold hardships not only in Ukraine and Russia but its impact is felt like an earthquake around the world. This war has resulted in skyrocketing food prices, high inflation, rising interest rates and rising energy prices. However there is now a glimmer of hope as Russia today is talking about peace. It is the largest interest rate increase since 1994 and the Feds have signalled that it would continue lifting rates this year at its most rapid in decades! This is to slow down high inflation that is at 40 year high! Superhawk is the term to describe the Feds ' latest action. However Jerome Powell said "We are not trying to induce a recession now. Let's be clear about that." The markets seem to like what he was saying and the US indexes rose after that. Let's hope that recession can be avoided. As always, hope for the best but prepare for the worse. @Mainstreet_Trade
