It also offers its own fitness content subscription service, he added. The columnist noted that Peloton stumbled with this strategy, as it could not manage its supply chain. As the company moved from shortage to surplus, losses continued to mount and growth slowed, the writer said. The acuteness of the problem hurt Peloton so much so that it had to let go of executives and employees, revamp its management team and embark on big cost-cutting initiatives, Gurman said.Even as Peloton is going about setting its house in order, talks of a potential acquisition have begun doing the rounds, with Apple, Amazon, Inc. and Nike, Inc. being discussed as potential suitors.Potential Solution: The solution for Peloton's travails is \"exiting the hardware business and focusing entirely on software and content,\" Gurman said.Peloton, according to the columnist, has the best software and content for treadmills and exercise bikes. Its app for iPhones, Android phones, tablets and set-top boxes is also top-notch, he added.\"The company should reinvent itself around those strengths,\" Gurman said.Peloton can make money from royalties and subscriptions for its operating system, giving a share of its subscription fees to its potential hardware partners, the columnist said. The company can also earn revenues from its digital-only subscribers, who number around 900,000, he added.\"By moving on from hardware, Peloton could make its business more sustainable in the long term. And if it does want to pursue a deal, it will be all the more attractive to a suitor,\" Gurman said.Apple closed Friday's session down 2.02% to $168.64 and Peloton fell 7.42% to $34.68.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":127,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9004780446,"gmtCreate":1642690936254,"gmtModify":1676533736184,"author":{"id":"4101135164255500","authorId":"4101135164255500","name":"Hujan","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4101135164255500","authorIdStr":"4101135164255500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy","listText":"Buy","text":"Buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9004780446","repostId":"1113490585","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1113490585","pubTimestamp":1642688645,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1113490585?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-20 22:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"SOFI Stock To The Moon? Here is what could happen next.On Wednesday, January 19, SoFi stock featured as one of the best-performing large cap names during a generally bearish day for stocks. Shares climbed 14%, driven by the company’s long-awaited bank charter announcement.Today, Wall Street Memes discusses the implications of the charter from a business fundamentals and investor sentiment perspective. Could this recent development turn SoFi’s fortunes around and finally lead the stock higher?Figure 1: SoFi logo and app.SoFi owns a bank, so what? For context, SoFi is a fintech company that has recently applied with the government and the Federal reserve to become a bank. This was a crucial move to allow SoFi to transition its business model from a pure-play lender to a more diversified financial services company. The pie charts below show what this transformation will mean, in terms of revenues. In 2020, 83% of SoFi’s top line came from its lending business. Five years later, the revenue pie is expected to be much more diversified, while lending should still triple in five years.Figure 2: SoFi's diversifica revenue streams.Being a national bank will open up growth avenues for SoFi. It is unclear how much of it is already reflected in the stock price or in current P&L estimates — analysts believe in 40%-plus revenue growth per quarter through 2023, but virtually zero net earnings. Judging by the initial jolt in share price seen on Wednesday, maybe the market has yet to fully factor in the upside. To the moon? Beyond fundamentalsThe other key factor that should be mentioned is investor sentiment. Since going public, in June 2021, SOFI stock has posted sharp losses: down 40% from around $23 per share in barely half a year. The selloff has been consistent with broad-based weakness in growth stocks.Following the bank charter news, SOFI recovered about half its 2022 YTD losses in only one trading session. As shares inched 3.5% higher still in after-hours trading, SOFI could become a rare case of positive momentum growth stock amid a market correction.Add to the momentum story the fact that SOFI is a top ticker among Reddit users, as depicted below. If anything, 2021 has proven that popularity among retail investors can be a factor driving share price higher — think AMC stock, for instance. Something similar could happen to SOFI too.Figure 3: Trending Stocks on Reddit on January 19.Also keep in mind that SOFI’s short interest is relatively high, at 8% of the float. This is substantially higher than Tesla’s 3%, for example. With so many traders holding a bearish position, a sudden jump in share price could trigger short covering, which could be good news for current SOFI shareholders.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":89,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9095971854,"gmtCreate":1644810915783,"gmtModify":1676533964121,"author":{"id":"4101135164255500","authorId":"4101135164255500","name":"Hujan","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4101135164255500","idStr":"4101135164255500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"🙏🏻","listText":"🙏🏻","text":"🙏🏻","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9095971854","repostId":"1196819358","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1196819358","pubTimestamp":1644810062,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1196819358?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-14 11:41","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Apple's Business Model Won't Work For Peloton And How The Fitness Company Can Turnaround Its Business","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1196819358","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Beleaguered fitness platform Peloton Interactive, Inc., which had taken a leaf out of tech giant App","content":"

Beleaguered fitness platform Peloton Interactive, Inc., which had taken a leaf out of tech giant Apple, Inc.'s business model, may need to rethink this strategy.

Peloton's Problem: Apple has found much success with its approach of combining its hardware, software and services into one package, and Peloton was quick to adopt this approach, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said.

Peloton designs its own bikes and treadmills and has developed its own operating system that runs over Android, the writer noted.
