income increased by 13% year on year to S$5.6 billion.</p><p>The bank’s net profit improved by 15% year on year to S$2.95 billion, a new high.</p><p>An interim dividend of S$0.54 was declared, 42% higher than the S$0.38 paid out a year ago.</p><h2 id=\"id_584217335\">Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX: S68)</h2><p>Singapore Exchange Limited, or SGX, is Singapore’s sole stock exchange operator.</p><p>The bourse operator owns a platform for the buying and selling of a wide variety of securities such as shares, bonds, and derivatives.</p><p>SGX enjoys a natural monopoly as it is the only stock exchange operator in Singapore.</p><p>The group announced a solid set of results for the first half of fiscal 2024 (1H FY2024) ending 31 December 2023.</p><p>Revenue inched up 3.6% year on year to S$592.2 million while adjusted net profit (excluding exceptional and one-off items) increased by 6.2% year on year to S$251.4 million.</p><p>The bourse operator also paid out a quarterly dividend of S$0.085, a slight increase over the S$0.08 paid out a year earlier.</p><p>SGX has been busy rolling out new products to increase the breadth of securities that investors can trade in and use to hedge their investment portfolios.</p><p>In March, the blue-chip group announced that it plans to launch interest rate derivatives in the second half of this year to support strong demand for more risk management tools.</p><p>Just last month, SGX added five new Singapore Depository Receipts to provide investors with more choices to invest in the Thai stock market.</p><h2 id=\"id_1788440364\">Frasers Centrepoint Trust (SGX: J69U)</h2><p>Frasers Centrepoint Trust, or FCT, is a suburban retail REIT with a portfolio of nine retail malls and an office building.</p><p>The REIT’s assets under management (AUM) stood at around S$7.1 billion as of 31 March 2024.</p><p>FCT is a great REIT candidate for owning long-term because of its portfolio of resilient suburban malls.</p><p>These malls attract footfall from nearby HDB estates and ensure that tenant sales remain high, thus attracting strong demand from vendors to set up shop in the REIT’s portfolio of malls.</p><p>For the first half of fiscal 2024 (1H FY2024) ending 31 March 2024, FCT reported a decent set of financial results.</p><p>Gross revenue dipped by 7.2% year on year to S$172.2 million because of the divestment of Changi City Point and asset enhancement initiatives (AEIs) at Tampines 1 mall.</p><p>Net property income (NPI) fell by 8.4% year on year to S$124.6 million.</p><p>Distribution per unit (DPU), however, declined by just 1.8% year on year to S$0.06022.</p><p>Despite the slight dip in DPU, FCT maintained strong operating metrics with committed occupancy at 99.9%.</p><p>Rental reversion also came in positive at 7.5% for 1H FY2024 while both shopper traffic and tenant sales improved year-on-year for the second quarter of FY2024.</p><h2 id=\"id_290961586\">CapitaLand Ascendas REIT (SGX: A17U)</h2><p>CapitaLand Ascendas REIT, or CLAR, is Singapore’s oldest industrial REIT with a portfolio of 227 industrial properties.</p><p>Its AUM stood at S$16.9 billion as of 31 March 2024.</p><p>CLAR has a diversified tenant base of around 1,790 tenants with the top tenant, <strong>Singtel</strong> (SGX: Z74), taking up just 3.2% of gross rental income (GRI).</p><p>In addition, no single property contributed more than 4% of GRI, thus ensuring that the industrial REIT remains resilient through different economic cycles.</p><p>CLAR’s portfolio occupancy also stood high at 93.3% along with a strong positive rental reversion of 16%.</p><p>The REIT is also undertaking five ongoing projects (AEIs) worth around S$551 million to improve Drugmakers are evaluating if it can create better medicines. Manufacturers are investigating if it can improve quality and production. So many are convinced that AI is transformational that network infrastructure is struggling to keep up with training and operating all the AI apps under development.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">As a result, enterprise and cloud network operators, including hyperscalers like Amazon&#39;s AWS, Microsoft&#39;s Azure, and Google&#39;s Cloud are plowing big money into upgrades, most of which feature next-generation AI chips made by Nvidia.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">Nvidia&#39;s dominance in graphic processing units, or GPUs, capable of handling AI&#39;s heavy workloads has allowed it to capture an estimated 90% market share for sophisticated AI chips.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">So many have embraced Nvidia&#39;s GPU-powered solutions, including the H100 and H200, that sales and earnings have skyrocketed. </p><p>In the fourth quarter, Nvidia&#39;s sales jumped 265% to $22.1 billion, marking the third consecutive quarter of triple-digit top-line growth. Nvidia&#39;s earnings per share jumped 486% to $5.16 in the quarter.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">As we celebrate the first wave of buying this summer, tougher comparisons will likely slow year-over-year growth. Still, estimates of how big this market could continue to climb suggest that Nvidia will enjoy years of demand.</p><h2 id=\"nvidia-s-new-challenges-include-frenemies\" style=\"text-align: start;\">Nvidia&#39;s challenges include &#34;frenemies&#34;</h2><p style=\"text-align: start;\">Nvidia&#39;s CEO, Jensen Huang, expects the widespread embrace of accelerated computing and generative AI to be a &#34;huge opportunity&#34; for his company.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">&#34;We believe these two trends [accelerated computing and generative AI] will drive a doubling of the world&#39;s data-center infrastructure installed base in the next five years,&#34; said Huang during the company&#39;s fourth-quarter earnings conference call.</p><p>Huang pegs the size of that market opportunity at &#34;hundreds of billions of dollars&#34; per year. </p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">Rival Lisa Su, CEO of Advanced Micro Devices, agrees. </p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">AMD launched its first specially designed AI GPUs this year, and Su thinks the AI chip market will reach $45 billion in 2024 and increase to $400 billion by 2027. Su says AMD&#39;s sales of MI300X AI GPUs could total $3.5 billion this year.</p><p>Huang doesn&#39;t only face competition from AMD. It may also lose some sales to companies it considers its best customers.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">These frenemies, including Amazon and Google-parent Alphabet, are developing their own silicon to reduce their reliance on Nvidia and others. </p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">&#34;I see generative AI as one of the biggest technical transformations in our lifetimes. I think it has the ability to transform virtually every customer experience that we know,” said Amazon&#39;s CEO Andy Jassy last summer.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">Amazon&#39;s Inferentia accelerator chips are being used by AWS to enable deep learning (DL) and generative AI inference applications. Generative AI company Anthropic uses those chips, and Amazon&#39;s Trainium chips, to power its foundation model, Claude, a large machine learning model pre-trained on data to accelerate AI applications.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">On April 9, Alphabet unveiled a central processing unit (CPU) chip using an Arm Holdings design. The Axion chip is similarly designed to handle AI processes better than traditional CPUs, like Intel&#39;s x86 chips. It, alongside Google&#39;s tensor processing units (TPUs), made with help from Broadcom, can be used by Google Cloud customers to help them create AI apps. </p><h2 id=\"nvidia-s-unveils-new-better-ai-chips\" style=\"text-align: start;\">Nvidia&#39;s unveils new, better AI chips</h2><p style=\"text-align: start;\">Huang&#39;s team presented its latest AI solutions in March at Nvidia&#39;s annual GTC Conference. </p><p>He said Nvidia&#39;s new Blackwell GPUs are 2.5 to 5 times more powerful and efficient than its Hopper platform chips, including the H100 and H200. higher than the S$0.38 paid out a year ago.</p><h2 id=\"id_584217335\">Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX: S68)</h2><p>Singapore Exchange Limited, or SGX, is Singapore’s sole stock exchange operator.</p><p>The bourse operator owns a platform for the buying and selling of a wide variety of securities such as shares, bonds, and derivatives.</p><p>SGX enjoys a natural monopoly as it is the only stock exchange operator in Singapore.</p><p>The group announced a solid set of results for the first half of fiscal 2024 (1H FY2024) ending 31 December 2023.</p><p>Revenue inched up 3.6% year on year to S$592.2 million while adjusted net profit (excluding exceptional and one-off items) increased by 6.2% year on year to S$251.4 million.</p><p>The bourse operator also paid out a quarterly dividend of S$0.085, a slight increase over the S$0.08 paid out a year earlier.</p><p>SGX has been busy rolling out new products to increase the breadth of securities that investors can trade in and use to hedge their investment portfolios.</p><p>In March, the blue-chip group announced that it plans to launch interest rate derivatives in the second half of this year to support strong demand for more risk management tools.</p><p>Just last month, SGX added five new Singapore Depository Receipts to provide investors with more choices to invest in the Thai stock market.</p><h2 id=\"id_1788440364\">Frasers Centrepoint Trust (SGX: J69U)</h2><p>Frasers Centrepoint Trust, or FCT, is a suburban retail REIT with a portfolio of nine retail malls and an office building.</p><p>The REIT’s assets under management (AUM) stood at around S$7.1 billion as of 31 March 2024.</p><p>FCT is a great REIT candidate for owning long-term because of its portfolio of resilient suburban malls.</p><p>These malls attract footfall from nearby HDB estates and ensure that tenant sales remain high, thus attracting strong demand from vendors to set up shop in the REIT’s portfolio of malls.</p><p>For the first half of fiscal 2024 (1H FY2024) ending 31 March 2024, FCT reported a decent set of financial results.</p><p>Gross revenue dipped by 7.2% year on year to S$172.2 million because of the divestment of Changi City Point and asset enhancement initiatives (AEIs) at Tampines 1 mall.</p><p>Net property income (NPI) fell by 8.4% year on year to S$124.6 million.</p><p>Distribution per unit (DPU), however, declined by just 1.8% year on year to S$0.06022.</p><p>Despite the slight dip in DPU, FCT maintained strong operating metrics with committed occupancy at 99.9%.</p><p>Rental reversion also came in positive at 7.5% for 1H FY2024 while both shopper traffic and tenant sales improved year-on-year for the second quarter of FY2024.</p><h2 id=\"id_290961586\">CapitaLand Ascendas REIT (SGX: A17U)</h2><p>CapitaLand Ascendas REIT, or CLAR, is Singapore’s oldest industrial REIT with a portfolio of 227 industrial properties.</p><p>Its AUM stood at S$16.9 billion as of 31 March 2024.</p><p>CLAR has a diversified tenant base of around 1,790 tenants with the top tenant, <strong>Singtel</strong> (SGX: Z74), taking up just 3.2% of gross rental income (GRI).</p><p>In addition, no single property contributed more than 4% of GRI, thus ensuring that the industrial REIT remains resilient through different economic cycles.</p><p>CLAR’s portfolio occupancy also stood high at 93.3% along with a strong positive rental reversion of 16%.</p><p>The REIT is also undertaking five ongoing projects (AEIs) worth around S$551 million to improve Drugmakers are evaluating if it can create better medicines. Manufacturers are investigating if it can improve quality and production. Retailers are researching its potential to improve inventory levels and stop theft. The U.S. Department of Defense is contemplating how AI may reshape the battlefield.</p><p>&#34;While we do not know the full effect or the precise rate at which AI will change our business — or how it will affect society at large — we are completely convinced the consequences will be extraordinary and possibly as transformational as some of the major technological inventions of the past several hundred years: Think the printing press, the steam engine, electricity, computing, and the Internet, among others,&#34; said JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon in April.</p><p style=\"text-align: start;\">Dimon&#39;s high praise isn&#39;t isolated. Kamich has analyzed stocks and major markets for over five decades to find winners. It is the single biggest driver of the company&#39;s revenue.</p><p>Overall, PayPal&#39;s net revenue increased 8% in 2022 and 2023, and there&#39;s good reason to think it will grow by a consistent 8%-plus annually for years to come.</p><p>Although this company is no longer the rapidly expanding Silicon Valley start-up it once was, it&#39;s still providing solid revenue and payment volume growth 25 years later, and there are three main reasons this should continue.</p><h2 id=\"id_3749574733\">First-mover advantage</h2><p>First, PayPal&#39;s massive size gives it a moat in the competitive digital payments industry. It was the first mover and operates in 200 countries and territories around the world. For a competitor to take away market share, it has to have a much better value proposition for someone to stop using their PayPal account.</p><p>The more customers who use PayPal, the more merchants will accept it as payment. This will keep total payment volume growing for years to come.</p><h2 id=\"id_140798825\">Widespread reach</h2><p>Second, PayPal isn&#39;t just a high-value, well-known global brand. The company also owns brands including Venmo, Braintree, HyperWallet, and Xoom.</p><p>Venmo is one of the most popular digital payment apps. Over 78 million people use it, mostly in the United States, and Venmo&#39;s revenue doubled from 2020 to 2022. Braintree helps merchants accept both PayPal and credit cards with a single integration. HyperWallet makes global payments quick and simple, and Xoom lets people transfer money.</p><p>Whenever someone makes a purchase using any of PayPal&#39;s brands, the company receives a portion of the amount. It&#39;s a lucrative business to be in, especially when TPV is rising consistently like PayPal&#39;s is.</p><h2 id=\"id_4156636385\">A government-backed moat</h2><p>Finally, PayPal&#39;s moat extends beyond its size and well-known brands. Because the industry is so regulated, that makes it extremely difficult for new competitors to enter. PayPal&#39;s government licenses allow it to operate, and a competitor can&#39;t simply join the industry without government approval.</p><p>The company owns licenses in the U.S. to operate as a money transmitter, and in the state of New York it holds a full BitLicense issued by the New York Department of Financial Services to offer cryptocurrency services. These licenses extend to its other brands.</p><p>PayPal has a consistently growing business, as well as a clear path to staying ahead of the competition, but we haven&#39;t reached my biggest reason to be bullish...</p><h2 id=\"id_2722712251\">The cheapest, highest-quality tech stock today</h2><p>PayPal is a tech stock in the digital payments space, but its valuation is closer to a bargain value stock.</p><p>As I&#39;m writing, its price-to-sales ratio (P/S) is just 2.16, which means investors are paying $2.16 for every dollar of the company&#39;s sales.</p><p>In June 2021, the P/S was nearly 15! This stock is cheap compared to its historical average, and cheap compared to its competitors, too.</p><p><strong>Global Payments</strong> is a digital payments company and member of the <strong>S&amp;P 500</strong> and Fortune 500. Its P/S is 3.52 today, roughly 63% more expensive than PayPal.</p><p><strong><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/SQ\">Block</a></strong>, which owns CashApp and Square, has a P/S of 2.29 -- just a little more than PayPal.</p><h2 id=\"id_4043143497\">Buy and hold</h2><p>PayPal&#39;s ubiquity has made it one of the world&#39;s most well-known brands among nearly every demographic, and its size and scale are fueling its next evolution of growth.</p><p>The new era of cryptocurrencies has made digital payment software even more important, and PayPal is in a perfect position to capitalize.</p><p>The stock&#39;s 2.16 P/S makes it the cheapest, highest-quality tech company in the market today.
