消息面上，在马斯克一顿迅猛减价操作下，特斯拉Model Y SUV最便宜的版本如今售价低于美国新车平均价格。Model Y基本款如今售价46,990美元，较美国轿车或卡车的平均价格低759美元。自去年年中以来，两者的价差变动幅度已超2万美元。

摩根士丹利分析师Adam Jonas上周表示，马斯克在美国的降价行动如此激进，可能导致一些汽车制造商放慢对电动汽车领域的投资步伐，而不是在不确定的经济环境下与特斯拉展开价格战。“我们正在思考，这是否是老牌整车制造商的董事会可以重新考虑放缓电动汽车资本支出和研发计划的‘时刻’。”
