A reporter learned from Envision Energy Co., Ltd. that following the commissioning of the world's largest green hydrogen-ammonia project at the Chifeng Zero-Carbon Hydrogen Industrial Park in July this year, the world's first hydrogen-ammonia dual-fuel gas turbine unit has successfully rolled off the production line at Yuanbaoshan Industrial Park in Chifeng High-tech Zone.
The unit was independently developed by Mufan Power, a high-tech enterprise invested by Envision Energy. Its launch marks a major breakthrough in zero-carbon hydrogen-ammonia dual-fuel power generation technology, providing new support for building a global clean energy system. The hydrogen-ammonia gas turbine generates zero-carbon electricity using green hydrogen and ammonia, representing an innovative solution for global traditional energy transformation and new energy consumption, completing the entire chain of "wind and solar green electricity - green hydrogen-ammonia - green hydrogen-ammonia power generation."
"This unit features 100% independent intellectual property rights and 100% domestically produced components. Once operational, each unit can generate up to 70 million kWh annually. We have already received preliminary orders from multiple countries and regions including Germany, the United States, and Australia," said Lin Gang, General Manager of Mufan Power. "This is China's first unit capable of using 100% ammonia fuel for power generation, and it is also the world's only equipment that can switch between three fuels: hydrogen, ammonia, and natural gas."
On July 8 this year, the first phase of Envision's Chifeng green hydrogen-ammonia project, with a capacity of 320,000 tons, was completed and put into operation. Leveraging Envision Energy's advantages, Mufan Power achieved the world's first full use of green hydrogen and green ammonia throughout the entire gas turbine testing and operation process. Mufan Power's major technological breakthrough in hydrogen-ammonia gas turbines allows green electricity to break through geographical limitations, transporting renewable energy from regions rich in wind and solar resources to locations worldwide in the form of green ammonia, then converting it back to green electricity, truly achieving "spatial transfer" and "temporal transfer" of green electricity. This major technological breakthrough by Mufan Power will also provide important closed-loop solutions for building new power systems and constructing zero-carbon industrial parks.
