Insta360 has announced its product vision to create a 'Cameraman' photography robot on the occasion of its 11th anniversary.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the photography robot is not a single, ultimate product set for a future launch, nor is it confined to a specific physical form. It is fundamentally a concept for an autonomous, intelligent shooting entity. The company's existing panoramic drones can be considered one of the early prototypes resembling this Cameraman concept.
The core capability of this photography robot is to automatically frame shots, capture moments, and complete edits on behalf of the user, allowing them to become fully immersed in the experience. Insta360 has already developed a significant array of related technologies, including a central processing 'brain' and gimbal 'body' systems. These technologies will be progressively integrated into the company's various product lines, continuously evolving until they converge into a final, unified form.
In an internal letter marking the anniversary, Insta360 founder Liu Jingkang stated, "We are not a company that thinks only about commercialization, efficiency, and user scale. We also aim to solve a set of problems that no one else is willing to address; this is the fundamental character of our company. I believe this pursuit is evident in the products we have released, from the e-ink screen on the Mic Pro to the detachable screen on Luna. Even when entering an existing market, we will bring the innovation that Insta360 is known for. We warmly welcome everyone to join us in exploring how far creativity, aesthetics, and a sense of romance can be taken in this era."
