On Friday, U.S. markets closed lower as escalating Middle East tensions pushed oil prices to near-month highs, dampening investor sentiment and dragging all three major indices down. The dollar fluctuated upward, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield climbed back to 4.99%, gold prices continued to decline, and oil prices trended higher.
Today, Hong Kong's three major indices all opened higher. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.28% to 23,156.96 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index gained 0.43%, and the China Enterprises Index advanced 0.28%.
On the board, tech internet stocks showed mixed performance, with NetEase surging over 4% while Lenovo dropped more than 1%. Innovative drug concept stocks opened higher, with Zai Lab jumping over 6%. Gold stocks broadly declined, as Chifeng Gold fell more than 3%. Chinese brokerage stocks remained sluggish, with CICC dropping over 2%.
