Wells Fargo CFO Set to Speak at Morgan Stanley Financial Conference

Deep News06-02 22:00

Wells Fargo announced on Tuesday that its Chief Financial Officer, Mike Santomassimo, will attend and present at the Morgan Stanley U.S. Financials Conference on June 9.

According to the company's announcement, Santomassimo's 'fireside chat' session is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, June 9, in New York. Investors can watch a live webcast of the event via the investor relations section of the Wells Fargo website. A replay will be available on the site for three months following the conference.

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC)

Wells Fargo is a leading U.S.-based financial services firm with approximately $2.2 trillion in assets under management. The company operates across four main segments: Consumer Banking and Lending, Commercial Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, and Wealth and Investment Management. In the Fortune 500 ranking for 2025, Wells Fargo holds the 33rd position.

The conference comes at a pivotal time for Wells Fargo as it undergoes a significant strategic transformation. Since the Federal Reserve lifted its asset cap restriction in June 2025, the former retail banking giant has been accelerating its expansion into investment banking. Through strategies such as hiring over 125 managing directors and providing large-scale bridge loans for mergers and acquisitions, the bank has jumped from 17th to 8th place in the global M&A advisory rankings.

First-quarter financial results showed Wells Fargo reported revenue of $21.45 billion, a 6.4% year-over-year increase. Net income was $5.29 billion, up 10.1% from the prior year. Through 23 consecutive quarters of workforce reductions and branch network optimization, the company's efficiency ratio has improved from 69% to 67%.

The market will be watching for any additional guidance Santomassimo may provide on topics such as credit expansion plans, progress on cost-cutting initiatives, and targets for the investment banking division. Currently, analysts' average rating for Wells Fargo stock is a 'Moderate Buy,' with an average price target around $97.53.
