Regulatory authorities have formally approved the appointment of Chen Peng as the general manager of the private banking division at Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC), according to an official announcement from the Shanghai Financial Supervision Administration on September 1.

Chen Peng, who was born in August 1970 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, holds a bachelor's degree in economics and is a senior economist. The bulk of his professional career has been spent within the Agricultural Bank of China's Jiangsu provincial branch system, where he has developed extensive expertise in the region's banking operations.

Before his latest promotion, Chen served in a series of pivotal leadership roles across the bank network. After starting as a deputy general manager at the bank's Gusu sub-branch, he went on to lead various departments, including serving as general manager of the investment banking division at the Suzhou branch. He subsequently took charge of both the Wuzhong sub-branch and the Changshu branch as their respective general managers.

In 2017, Chen transitioned to the provincial level, taking on the role of office director for the Jiangsu provincial branch, followed by a position as general manager in human resources. By November 2020, he had climbed to a senior-level position as a member of the party committee and vice governor of the Agricultural Bank of China's Jiangsu branch. Notably, during this period, he also concurrently served as vice chairman of the Jiangsu Province Payment and Clearing Services Association, underscoring his involvement in regional financial infrastructure beyond his core banking duties.
