Ant International has announced the successful completion of a Series A funding round, raising approximately $1.2 billion, which equates to around 8.13 billion Chinese yuan.
This investment round saw participation from existing shareholders, including Ant Group Co., Ltd. and Alibaba, alongside a number of other prominent international investment institutions.
The capital raised will be allocated towards accelerating Ant International's global business expansion and driving innovation in areas such as merchant payments and account management.
This development follows an internal announcement made by Ant Group's Chairman and CEO, Eric Jing, in March 2024. In that communication, he stated that Ant International, along with OceanBase and Ant Digital Technologies, would each establish their own boards of directors to operate more independently in the market.
Ant International's operations currently span major markets across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. Its network connects over 150 million merchants worldwide with more than 2 billion consumer accounts.
The company's business is structured around four main pillars: Alipay+, Antom, Bettr, and WorldFirst.
