President Donald Trump issued another stern warning on Monday, threatening to sue Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell for "gross negligence," a charge he linked to Powell's management of the renovation project at the Fed's Washington headquarters.
Trump told reporters in Florida that he plans to announce his nominee for the next Fed Chair at a selected date in January of next year.
When questioned by reporters about the progress of discussions with candidates, President Trump indicated that his preferred candidate for the position of Fed Chair "has not changed."
Trump made these remarks to journalists after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
