Hong Kong Stocks Open Higher: Hang Seng Index Rises 0.48%, Tech and AI Shares Lead Gains

Hong Kong stocks opened higher across the board on Thursday, following a mixed session on Wall Street where all three major US indices closed with slight losses as investors weighed corporate earnings reports from the tech sector. The US dollar rebounded from recent lows, while the yield on 10-year US Treasuries climbed back to around 4.64%. Gold prices pulled back from their peaks, and oil prices held steady amid fluctuating trade.

At the opening bell, the Hang Seng Index advanced 0.48% to 25,774.87 points, while the Hang Seng Tech Index climbed 0.85%. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index also opened higher, gaining 0.47%.

Across the board, tech and internet stocks saw broad gains, with Baidu surging more than 3% and both Tencent and Lenovo rising over 1%. In the optical communications sector, Zhongji Innolight opened more than 4% higher. AI application stocks also moved up, with Z.AI jumping over 8% at the open. Semiconductor stocks were active as well, with GigaDevice advancing more than 2%.
