HSBC Adds 12,955 Ordinary Shares via 2011 Share Plan; Issued Capital Climbs to 17.17 Billion Shares

HSBC Holdings plc issued 12,955 new ordinary shares of US$0.50 each between 1 August and 31 August 2026 under the HSBC Share Plan 2011. The shares were allotted from the Group’s existing block-listing facility and will rank pari passu with all other ordinary shares in issue.

Following the transaction, HSBC’s total issued share capital stands at 17.17 billion ordinary shares as of 31 August 2026.

Block-listing headroom remained unchanged across all other employee and executive share plans. The only movement was in the HSBC Share Plan 2011, whose available but unallotted shares decreased by 12,955 to 8.80 million. Balances for the Employee Share Option Scheme (0.12 million), Executive Share Option Scheme (1.47 million), Employee SAYE Plan (16.99 million), obligations linked to the acquisition of HSBC Finance Corporation (68.33 million), HSBC Holdings Group Share Option Plan (19.46 million), HSBC Share Plan (0.82 million) and the International Employee Share Purchase Plan (1.70 million) were unchanged during the period.

The notification was made in line with PRM 1.6.4 requirements and applies solely to the August 2026 period.
