13F Tracking|Buffett Buys Domino's Pizza and Pool Corp for The First Time; Brigewater's Apple Holdings Increase 120%

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) bought Domino's Pizza (DPZ) and Pool Corp. (POOL) for the first time in the third quarter, while selling Apple (AAPL) and Bank of America (BAC). Pool stock and DPZ stock both popped late Thursday.

Bridgewater Associates has also released its 13F filing for the third quarter ending September 30, 2024. The total market value of the firm's holdings decreased by 8% to $17.7 billion from the previous quarter's $19.2 billion. During this period, Bridgewater added 79 new stocks, increased holdings in 260 stocks, while reducing holdings in 428 stocks and eliminating 183 stocks from its portfolio. The top ten holdings constitute 32.29% of the total portfolio value.

The largest position is in iShares S&P 500 ETF (IVV), with approximately 2.22 million shares valued at $1.28 billion, accounting for 7.26% of the portfolio, a slight increase of 5.77% from the previous quarter. The second largest holding is the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (IEMG) with about 17.78 million shares valued at $1.02 billion, making up 5.78% of the portfolio, a decrease of 4.73% from the previous quarter.

Alphabet (GOOGL) ranks third with around 4.38 million shares valued at $726 million, representing 4.11% of the portfolio, down 3.54% from the last quarter. Nvidia (NVDA) is fourth, with approximately 4.75 million shares valued at $577 million, making up 3.27% of the portfolio, a decrease of 27.48% from the previous quarter. SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) is fifth with about 840,000 shares valued at $480 million, accounting for 2.72% of the portfolio, an increase of 17.52% from the last quarter.

The sixth to tenth largest holdings include Meta (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Procter & Gamble (PG), Amazon (AMZN), and Apple (AAPL). Notably, Apple's holdings saw a substantial increase of nearly 120% from the last quarter, while the holdings of the other four stocks significantly decreased.

Bridgewater initiated positions in companies such as Micron Technology (MU), Alibaba (BABA), ASML (ASML), Bank of America (BAC), and Baidu (BIDU), while completely divesting from Oracle (ORCL), IBM (IBM), and Disney (DIS).

The top five purchases in terms of position changes were iShares S&P 500 ETF, Constellation Energy (CEG), Lam Research (LRCX), Apple, and Broadcom (AVGO). The top five stocks sold included Procter & Gamble, Amazon, Costco (COST), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), and McDonald's (MCD).
