美国总统特朗普在谈及伊朗时表示：“他们是一群坏人。我们本应在47年前就对伊朗采取行动。伊朗的大部分装备都没了，包括他们的防空炮。每次伊朗派出无人机，我们都予以猛烈打击。我们本来已经达成协议，一切都已经敲定，但他们违背了协议。伊朗总是撕毁协议，我们已经和这些人达成过10次协议了，所以我就是要狠狠打击他们。我们将控制住海峡，而且将来很可能会主导海峡。我们此前一直无偿守卫霍尔木兹海峡。我们将成为（霍尔木兹海峡）‘守护天使’。我只想收回我们的行动成本，并补偿我们在海峡冒险所付出的代价。”
